I can work with either fandom. For Harry Potter, what about having a witch/wizard and Muggle pairing? Someone outed the magical world, so now everybody knows about magic? For A:tLA and A:LoK, I'm still a bit hung up on the alternate-universe idea, and having the canon Avatar get tossed into the world of the alternate OC Avatar.
If someone came out about magic there would be a lot more prejudice on both sides, that could be interesting to work with. The more I think about it though the more fun Avatar sounds, I have never done anything with it. I don't think I'm understanding your idea for it fully, I'm pretty new to the role playing lingo thing. I've only done maybe three of them one of them being a Draco/Harry bromance hehe
Roleplaying terms 101: canon means anything in the actual movie/book/series, including characters the original creator made. fanon is anything introduced by fans. OC means original character.
My idea for the Avatar one is based on the idea of parallel universes. If there are alternate universes, then there must be alternate versions of people, as well. Either Aang (last airbender) or Korra (legend of korra) somehow get sent to one of these alternate universes and meet up with their alternate counterpart, the Avatar for that world (an OC). |
Oooh, cool. That sounds interesting, yeah. I don't know who Korra is though I don't remember that series. Hey maybe we could each do two characters? Would that be terribly complicated? For instance I am Cannon Ang and OC Kitara if that makes sense, and you could be the reverse of whoever we choose to be
I've got no problem doubling up on characters. I prefer it, usually, since it adds extra depth to a roleplay. I have an OC pretty much built as the alternate Avatar. Would you mind terribly if I asked about your OC so I have an idea of how to make one opposite of her? I have one in mind, but he might need tweaks based on your character.
I was thinking since Kitara is more of the good girl type logically the OC should be a base opposite of her attributes. Where Kitara would go with it, mine breaks the rules. Major problem with authority, and the words backing down mean push harder. One thing I think would be cool as well is that the OC's have no knowledge of bending and can be used as decoys since they look just like the original. It would be very fun if they could learn though :)
Another thing to ponder, should this run parallel to the existing story line, branch off, take place after the end, or run independent? |
Okay, so you and I have very different ideas, here. My thought was that the alternate world would be very similar, but with different people and a different major problem. So there is bending, and the alternates are different people entirely, and our characters somehow have to get along with each other. I think I know how my OCs are going to be, now, anyways.

I am getting very nervous about playing with someone who obviously knows so much more about this than myself O.o;; Alls I can say is I will do my best to do a good job and make this not frustrating to you hehe
I think what will work the best is if you tell me a complete idea of exactly what sounds the most fun to you, and in turn, what you need from me to make this happen correctly. I haven't even been on this site in years and really don't know protocol. Ultimately I just want this to be as fun for you as possible while I learn the ropes. |
This has to work both ways, you know. It shouldn't be me bossing you around. That takes the fun out of everything. Maybe I'm not the right partner for you just yet.
Maybe not, I'm sorry to waste your time, but you really have me thinking so it's not a total loss :D
It wasn't a waste of time. Make sure to come back if you get any other ideas.
Oh yeah, for sure!
Still looking! Am I really that scary?

*cautiously pokes thread, watching it flop about weakly like a dying fish*

What do you feel about a Harry Potter Gringotts rp?
Artsydaze: before I say anything else, I have to ask you to go back and really read my first post.
Mhm, I did, and will do my best to abide by your requirements.
Artsydaze: I'm looking for something specific from my first post. Until I get that, I can't be sure you're serious about being a partner of mine.
Ah! You will not rue this day, of course!
Madam will do, thank you x3!
I was thinking of exploring the history of Gringotts, like from when it was created to how it was briefly seen in the books/movies. I don't usually do fandom but this idea wouldn't let me go! |
Like how did you want it to go? I've never thought about a plot like that before, I wouldn't know how to start.
I was thinking of starting this off with one of the many goblin rebellion, followed by the goblins going in hiding when it didn't work. They will afterwards start by making more weapon and armor in the bowels of the heart but will gradually get more and more interested in their craft and will develop their hoarding nature, leading to the formation of a bank to hoard even more things and the eventual monopoly of the magical financial world.
How do that sound? |
It sounds... complicated. There was no real information on either the goblin rebellions, or the goblins themselves in the books, so a lot of it sounds like it would be guesswork and artistic license. I don't think I would really take well to the idea, it's not something I would usually go for.
Alright then, I hope you find something to your liking soon :)!
