Special Summons (Arch Guardian Angel and ChibiMouse)
Special Summons Every city has its share of urban legends and myths. Even the mild mannered city of Fenwood has stories of colorful characters and zany happenings. There's an old tree next to the bookstore that's been there for as long as anyone can remember. It would be like any other tree except that its lower branches are covered in ribbons...And not to mention magic. They say some lucky girls made wishes on those ribbons to find love or a friend, put some oranges at the base of the tree, then tied the ribbons on its branches so they'd come true. Legend has it the next day they'd meet a special friend who would fulfill their wish. Some believe it and some don't, but every once in a while orange peels can be found high up in the tree's boughs. |

Character Profile
Name: Lana Quinn Age: 200 (looks 20) Picture: http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k.../Christina.jpg About Her: Lana is very fun-loving and charming. She's not afraid to say what she thinks and isn't afraid of getting into a fight either. She's sweet, loves going out on the town, and sometimes she can be found taking naps in odd places when she's really tired. Lana isn't a major party animal but loves to go places and meet people. Ideally she would love to ride her motorcycle to the pier and lounge on the beach to relax. She'd never been sent on a summons before but has a feeling the Lady of the Tree will be calling her in soon. |

Annabella sat on the window seal of small bookshop on the corner of Fye Street she was reading a book about myths and lore she looked up from her book and turned her attention to the ribbon filled tree she sighed and went back to her book until her friend who was the own of the bookstore needed her help with storing some new books on the shelves her friend told her to have a try with the wishing tree because Anna's friend knew that she was lonely and needed a companion instead of spending time with her friend at the bookstore all the time. About lunch time Anna's friend bugged her to put a ribbon on the tree to see if her wish would come true Anna just sighed and took a beautiful silk red ribbon and some oranges out to the tree she spoke to herself "This is stupid it's not even going to work" but, she did it anyways she closed her eyes wishing for a companion/love putting oranges near the tree tied up the ribbon and went inside the bookstore to finish up her work for the day. When it was about 6pm Anna went to her favourite restaurant to eat before going home to practice on her guitar. |
The Lady of the Tree or Lady was a benevolent demon. She watched over the women of the city along with her many children. She lived in the thick leafy boughs of the Fye Street Tree and ate the oranges left for her there. When a woman made a wish on her home, she would call one of her offspring to grant it. Before that however, they were free to do as they pleased. Though no Humans could see her, she could definately see them. She smiled when she saw Anna tie her ribbon and make a wish. This one was a non-believer and quite the introvert...her daughter Lana would certainly change that.
Lana had just arrived to her apartment down the street from the bookstore. She changed out of her red sweater and black mini skirt then proceeded to shower. She'd had a long day. Though she was Lady's daughter, Lana lived as though she were Human and worked in a music shop downtown. She'd just finished her shower and gotten into her favorite fluffy robe when her mother appeared in her bedroom. "MOM!" Lana jumped at the sudden entry. "I told you to make a knocking noise before you come in. What's going on?" Lady smiled. "You have a Summoner Lana. You meet her tomorrow..." The next day dressed in tight jeans, black motorcycle boots with matching leather jacket, and a curve hugging white shirt Lana rode her motorcycle to the bookstore. Her Summoner's name was Anna. She walked into the store and looked around for the young woman. She found her reading on the window sill. 'Oh, she's cute! This will be interesting. Here goes nothing.' she thought. "Excuse me, Anna? The Lady of the Tree told me you wanted a companion. My name is Lana. Pleased to meet you." she smiled charmingly. |
Anna was reading another book but, this time something fantasy in it, she was so busy reading a book when she heard someone and tree she jumped 10 feet falling down from the window sill she did a groan and looked up while she was still lying on the floor she was shocked was it possible that the wish did come true, her friend was even shocked she spoke first though to break the silence "So Anabella did make a wish!" she looked at Anna and spoke as she helped her up, Anabella was still in shock about what just happened "I thought you didn't believe that nonsense Annie" Anna finally spoke her voice going high "Well I don't! this is impossible! I must be dreaming! Yes I must be, I am just sleeping at my own window sill with my guitar in my hand and I am going to wake any minute now!"
Anna's friend started giggling at Anna's response she looked at the woman who was summoned by Anabella she sure was very pretty maybe it was a good chance for her best friend finding someone at last even though it was a wish. |
Lana shrugged and crossed her arms. "Well you're not. If you were, in real life I'd be taking my motrocycle down to the beach and relaxing on my day off. However since this IS real life, I came over here to meet you and spend time with you. If you want me to go I can." She turned to look at some of the books on the shelves next to her while Anna let her words sink in. Lana knew disbelievers were the hardest ones to convince so she had to be as curt as possible right now. It'd be a shame if she was actually told to go. She was beginning to take a liking to Anna already. She looked so adorable when she was flustered. Lana gave a bow then began to head for the door. It was a tactic her mother taught her. She didn't like manipulating like that but a job is a job..."Alright then, I'll be going. Oh just so you know, I think you're pretty cute. Later!" Lana hoped she'd be stopped before she reached the door. It should work in 3...2...1...
Lady's voice echoed in her mind. 'Lana, non-believers need proof and pressure. If they're too frazzled to ask for proof, give some gentle pressure.' Lana hated doing this. She didn't want to wind up leaving and having to be reassigned...even though she'd never heard of that happening, she didn't want to take chances. |
Her best Friend spoke "No wait! I know Anabella will come around I know what you can do! You can take Anabella on a date and see how it goes" Anabella punched her friend in the arm for saying that her best friend looked at her frowning "Oh come on, I know you're gay you need someone in your life go have some fun you need it!" she started pushing Anna through the door Anabella finally spoke getting a little angry "Quit shoving me Chantal will you" Chantal frowned "Oh shush you big baby what harm can it do if you go on date right now I am the owner of this store and I say you go out and have fun Oh come on don't give me that look Annie go you need some time out I'll be fine don't worry"
Anna sighed "Fine I will go, I know I am going to wake up and it's all going to be a dream" Chantal smiled, then looked at Lana "You take good care of her okay? Show her a good time, it's been a long time she had any" |
Lana turned around and smiled brightly. She'd have to thank her mother later. "I promise she's in good hands Chantal. I'd be more than happy to take you out Anna. Come on, have you ever been on a motorcycle before?" She led Anna outside and to her baby, a snazzy red motorcycle with two helmets waiting for them. Lana handed her new date one of them. "All you have to do is hang on to me and move the way I move. Oh and keep your feet on the little bars behind mine." Lana noted her guitar and smiled. She knew exactly where to start this adventure. The music shop she worked at was downtown and they could get some music to listen to together. "Are you ready? Don't worry. I'm a good driver." She smiled warmly. From the music store they could go grab lunch then have it at her secret hideout on the beach. Admittedly, she was a bit nervous herself. She'd only dated a few times before but that was a long time before motorcycles and music stores. She looked into Anna's eyes, she had a feeling this would all work out but she didn't want to get ahead of herself.
|
Anna sighed she put on the helmet and got on the bike it was rather sweet bike she had to admit that but, kept it in her mind she looked at Lana she had to admit Lana had a beautiful figure Anna felt herself blush she spoke rather quickly after this realized she was blushing and staring "so where are we off to?"
|
Lana put her helmet on and got on the driver's seat. "Since you like music, there's a place I wanted to show you. I work there actually...hang on!" With a roar, the two were off. Lana got them downtown quickly and safely to Tenetti's Music Shop. It was an older brick building with guitars and music books in the display window. Mr. Tenetti's great grandson was sweeping the walk outside when Lana pulled up. He stopped to wave and continued his chores. Lana waved back then got off the bike. She put her helmet on her on her seat. She turned to Ana with a smile on her face, "I thought we could grab some music to listen to and Mr. Tenetti's grandson will probably let me borrow a CD player. We're going to need it at our next stop. But come on in, we've got all sorts of instruments to try out and lots of demos to listen to."
|
Anna frowned how on earth did she know about her liking music who or what was Lana? she sighed silently as she got off the bike "sounds awesome" she smiled a little at least she will have some fun before investigating who Lana was..
|
Lana led Ana into the building. Inside, Mr. Tenetti's grandson Frank kept an eye on things behind the counter and waved at the girls as they came in. "Lana, how are you dear? Enjoying your day off?" Lana nodded. "Definately! This is my new friend Ana. We were wondering if you'd let us look around and possibly borrow a CD player? I promise to bring it back when I work tomorrow." "Why not?" said Frank, "you girls have fun and I'll put the CD player under the counter. Come grab it on your way out." Lana gave the older man a hug. "Thanks Frank! I owe you one!" She turned to Ana and giggled. "So what do you want to do first? Get music or look around?"Band posters seemed to serve as wallpaper since there were so many, old record covers of Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and others hung on fishing line from the ceiling above. Shelves and shelves of records, tapes, and CDs were kept neat and varied widely in genre. Demo stations with headphones were in the far corner. If one went up the stairs next to the stations, there were guitars, drums, keybords, and other intruments to try and buy.
