Gideon watched Scarlett's fingers trail over his hand, silently nodding. "Trade of information," he whispered in return, watching the girl's face. She didn't seem disgusted, or scared. Scarlett looked . . . curious. Gideon wanted to tell her, then. "There was an accident. It was almost five years ago. I was seventeen, maybe." Resting there with Scarlett the moment seemed to be so serene. It would be nice to share knowledge, and to learn of the girl before him. "I'd just gotten out of school for the summer, though I didn't have anyone to spend it with. My parents and I never got along." That was an understatement. As a child, he'd been abused by an alcoholic father. His parents didn't stay together, but the boyfriends that Gideon's mother had after that went from bad to worse. There were many days when he'd just stay in his room in order to avoid everyone in the house.
"I spent a lot of time being alone. I learned about mechanics, and started messing around with building things." Nothing big at that time, but things changed quickly. "There was this one man that my mother was with who had a thing for explosives. She thought it was . . . cute." Gideon's gaze darkened, and he flexed his mechanical fingers. Touching Scarlett's cheek for a few moments, he then trailed his finger over her chin and lips thoughtfully. "He set something on fire one night. He was fighting with my mother." Gideon shrugged as best he could, smiling grimly. "I saved his sorry hide, but was caught in the explosion." The youth reached up to pull the fabric away from his head, touching a light scar that blended with the hairline by his temple. "The worst of it was losing my hand. Everything else is minor." He mentally went over the various scars that he knew were on him. "My mother was coming off her high. She left with her boyfriend and didn't look back." His features darkened again, as though he was struggling with keeping his tone light. His low voice was nearly a growl when he spoke next. "The police found me the next morning. They put the fire out, found me dying, stuck me in the hospital. When I woke up . . . " Gideon trailed off, looking at his palm. "So I learned to make a new one. Tali was my experiment until I got good enough to make myself a new hand." He couldn't feel with that hand, but he'd managed to sync the mechanics with what he wanted. "I found my mother a few weeks later." There was a long silence filled only by the background noise of the television. "I've shared my secret." Expectantly meeting Scarlett's eyes, he kissed her lightly. It felt . . . different to share such knowledge with someone, let alone a girl he'd only known for a few days. "How about yours?" - Spraying water from her face, Alice shook her wet hair back. "Most people make mistakes, Tiger." Seeing the look on Andrew's face, she fell silent. He needed to say whatever was on his mind. His words were heavy, and so serious that it nearly broke her heart. Alice slowly moved through the water to touch Andrew's shoulder, reaching up to pull his face down. When they met gazes, she looked completely serious. "You've learned." Alice blinked slowly, trying not to feel somewhat at a loss. It was almost like she'd expected to have Andrew all to herself. It was . . . odd thinking he'd been with others. "You've repented. If you've stopped, turned around, and changed how you live, then you're fine." Alice stood on her tiptoes to kiss the side of his mouth. "Just promise it won't happen again. Ever." Her voice wavered on her last word, as though she was almost hurt. She could feel Andrew's pain. He had done everything he could to forget his agony. It hurt her to know he'd suffered so much. ((^_^ Sounds good. Once their conversations are over, we'll fade things out and pass some time. ;))) |
Scarlett frowned at his words, the blonde keeping quiet the whole time the male spoke. He had gone through so much pain compared to her. Her pain had been caused by her. While his pain..had been caused by his parents and their mistakes. She kissed him back, and lowered her gaze away from his eyes. "My secret? Well.. I got involved with man when I was fifteen. He was older than me, and everything about him made me love him. The way he talked, walked, laughed.." She said, her voice straining. "He told me he loved me. And I was so young and nieve.. that I believed him." She whispered.
"He moved in with my brother and I because he was my brothers best friend, and we needed help with the rent since I wasn't old enough for a job." She said, her eyes still not meeting his. "He told me his deepest, darkest secrets.. and I told him mine. And it grew to the point where we needed each other." She said, sighing. "But he needed me for the wrong reasons. He just used me for pleasure, but I didn't know that until five months later. He started to compare me to his past lovers, and hit me.. and call me horrible things." She said, biting her bottom lip. "But I kept on being with him, because I thought that no matter his problems if I kept being with him then maybe someday he'd love me. But I was wrong. Things just got worst. He didn't even consider me his girlfriend! He'd go out and sleep with he pleased, telling everyone he was single.. and then he'd come home and pressure me into..things.." She said, her eyes finally looking to Gideons. "I went on vacation with a few girlfriends, after having a pregnancy scare and realized I didn't want to have to look at that poor, beaten girl in the mirror anymore. I was so relieved when I found out I wasn't pregnant." She said, her eyes closing for a moment. "I didn't want to end up having a baby with him when he didn't even love me.. So I told him we were done. And he said 'You can't lose what you never had'." She said, tears falling from her emerald eyes. "And he didn't leave until Andrew finally called the cops on him and got in a fist fight with him." She said, biting her bottom lip. She wiped her eyes, staring up at Gideon. Her heart pounding. "That's my secret. My horrible secret.." ((Aww I feel bad for not having Andrew be a clean, knight in shining armor :( )) Andrew nodded. "I've gotten help for it.."He said, his voice sounding a little hoarse. "I promise. It'll never happen again.." He said softly, accepting the kiss on his face. "I swear, that's just a small crack in the mirror of my life. I've sealed it and can see myself clearly now." He said, looking at the water. "I wasn't happy with that me. The whole reason I knew I needed to change was because on multiple occasions Scarlett tried to tell me that my friend Carter was harassing her.. But I was too wasted to remember. But one night I found him beat ing her." He said, his fists clenching in the water. "And that sobered me up." He said, an intense look in his eyes as he stared into the steam coming from the hot tub. "I called the cops and literally beat Carter until his face was such a bloody mess I thought I blinded him." He said, smirking. "He's okay though. Too bad. He still keeps trying to get to my sister. But after that fight I went to rehab. I realized I needed to be there for my friends and family. Not in some ditch not knowing where my car is and not being able to get up.." He said, leaning back against the hot tub. |
Gideon met Scarlett's eyes, his own full of a strange emotion. He was furious that anyone dared hurt this woman. Scarlett was on the verge of tears when he pressed his lips to hers again, this time more roughly. "Scarlett," Gideon carefully took her face in his hands, pressing gentle kisses over her features. Her eyes, cheeks, nose, forehead, and lips were met with small comforts. "I'm so sorry."
Carefully sitting up, he pulled the girl to him. Wrapping her in a hug, he tucked her head under his chin. "That's horrible." Gideon rubbed the blonde's back, keeping her against him until he felt her heart beat slowing down. "Oh, Scarlett." He couldn't think of anything to say. What could he say? Someone had abused her, and it wasn't like Gideon could step in and push out everything she'd held in her mind and heart for years. "I would never do that to you," he breathed, bringing her chin up so he could meet her eyes. "I will never hurt you, Scarlett. I promise." - ((:XD Aww. But I like him. :heart: He's changed: he's a new person. :yes: And not everyone can be the knight. Sometimes they have to be the warrior who fights through the toughest battles until they're free again.)) Alice let her hands drop from Andrew's face as he spoke of Carter. When he leaned against the side of the hot tub, she practically launched herself at him with tears in her eyes. "Oh, God. You two have been through so much!" Wrapping her arms about the male's neck, Alice kissed his ear and cheek. "I like you, Andrew. I really like you. I'm glad you told me." Pressing her forehead to his, she blinked away a few tears. The burdens he must carry. Andrew must feel so heavy. Alice hugged him once again, wanting to never let go. "You're both safe now." The irony of her words made her frown, for they all knew that the estate was . . . well, haunted in a way. How could they be safe with wraiths and ghosts trying to kill them? "You're far from whatever happened back there. You won't let it happen again." Stroking the back of Andrew's hair, Alice sighed and rested against him. "I love you, Andrew." |

Scarlett wrapped her arms around him. "I know, I know, You would never hurt me." She said, accepting his kisses and then planting her on on his lips. "It was my own fault for it happening. I was the one that led him on.. thinking that age difference didn't matter and that he'd love me if I continued to sleep with him. I was stupid. And I realize that now.." She said, pressing her forehead to his. "After him, I was never with another man again. I didn't trust them.. but I trust you." She said, her eyes meeting his. She kissed him again, a kiss filled with passion. "And I promise that I will never let you go back to that cruel woman." She said, meaning his mother. "Gideon, we've both been through so much.. but, your pain was caused by something you couldn't control. I could've stopped mine. But I didn't. Don't feel bad for me. It's my fault..If anyone should feel bad it's me. I feel so bad for you Gideon! You lost your hand due to your mothers selfishness and her neglect!" She said, anger showing her her emerald eyes. "I know the both of us probably have no money to our name.. but I promise you we could get by. You don't have to return home to her. Nor I to him. We could stay in a hotel near here somewhere.." She said, frowning. She hugged him. "Oh, Gideon, I'm so sorry for all you've been through." She said, showering his face in kisses as well. Andrew shook his head. "Not nearly as much as most people. I just didn't know how to deal with my emotions.. and Scarlett, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and met Carter." He said, hugging Alice close to him. "I really like you too, Alice." He said softly, kissing her forehead. "Your the only person i've been able to open up to in years.. I feel so at ease with you." He said, smiling a little at her words. "I love you too, Alice." He said, kissing her temple and hugging her to him. "Thank you for being so understanding.. Most girls don't go for guys like me once they know our past."He said, putting his chin on her shoulder. |
"It isn't all your fault," he whispered, loving the small kisses that showered his features. "No true man takes advantage of a girl like that. He was a liar and deceiver. He didn't deserve you." He met her passionate kiss with his own, and then nipped her lip. "We were both wronged. And we both made stupid choices. Yours was to stay with him, mine was to stay with my mother. We could have avoided our pain, but we were the ones who ran into it."
His brown eyes filled with care. "Don't be sorry for me. I'm stronger now." Gideon listened in silence as Scarlett began to speak of the future. He nodded, agreeing with what she said. "We can start over. Together." Gideon knew that it was a bit early to be thinking of living together, starting a new life with one another . . . but he couldn't help it. They . . . were kindred souls. "I won't be reckless. I can care for you." As the movie reached its climax, Gideon glanced up. The motorcycle chase. Instead of pausing to watch it, the youth pressed a passionate kiss to Scarlett's lips. "I like the thought of staying with someone like you, Scarlett." - "Are you kidding?" Alice smiled, trying to brighten the moment. "A girl like me goes for a guy with a mysterious dark past any day." With a wink, she kissed his jaw and continued to embrace him. She could feel his heart beating, could feel his life force right before her. Closing her eyes, Alice wished she could wipe away all the painful memories Andrew was bearing. "Do you want some cider?" she asked quietly, toying with his hair as she relaxed against him. It was easy to do with warmth flowing around and through them. It was getting rather late in the evening. They should find the others soon, and see what they were doing for bed that night. |

Scarlett smiled, kissing him back, so caught up in all the excitement. "And don't think of it as something you have to commit to. If you someday don't find me attractive anymore or don't want to be in a relationship with me, oh well. I wouldn't mind being your friend for the rest of my life." She smiled, kissing him again. "Then that's what we'll do. We'll get so far away from them that they can never hurt us again.." She said, her gaze, softening. Once the movie ended the blonde stood up. "Come on, lets get to bed." She said, knowing it was getting late. The two would continue their talk tomorrow, for now they had to rest their minds from everything they just learned. "I'd love some cider." He said, getting out of the tub and then helping her out as well. He grabbed their towels and wrapped hers around her, then dried himself off. He took her hand and led her inside to the bar, helping her make the drinks. "I think Scar and Gideon already went to bed, so we'll just sleep in my room for the night." He said, leading her upstairs. After an hour or two of talking and drinking, the pair went to sleep. (Kay, you wanna start off like a week later with them all getting ready for bed?) |
For the next week, evenings ended up following the same routine. The couples would be together throughout the day, talking and binding their lives together with friendship. As always, Alice sat with Andrew and Scarlett sat with Gideon. The couples seemed to have more than enough to talk about.
When night fell, they would separate to do whatever caught their attention. There were game nights for all of them, movie nights and desert nights, and then there were the nights when they would head off with their "significant other" into the darkness to swim or talk quietly. Nothing ever happened between the couples, for they'd laid down some sort of guidelines for their relationships: Alice chose to be as close as friends could be without marriage, and Gideon had yet to truly take things to the next level. Things were finally working out for them: they were close friends, and they were getting to be more than that. Even better, the house was silent and still throughout the week. It was on one such night, after dinner, when Alice leaned back in her chair and tossed a crumpled napkin at Gideon. "You're in love." Gideon was startled by the napkin, and frowned in denial. "Why do you say that?" He threw the object back at its original owner with the slightest of smiles. "I say it because every time Scarlett looks away, you stare at here with those huge puppy eyes." Alice mimicked the look, albeit more dramatically. "Admit it!" "There were no eyes." Gideon shook his head, but didn't deny that he was in love. Instead, he moved closer to Scarlett and whispered to her. "We should leave these two to their own demise." Taking her hand with his, he sent a glance in the other couple's direction. "Goodnight." His brown eyes then moved to Andrew. "I suggest a stronger sedative tonight. She doesn't look tired." Despite their "bickering," Gideon and Alice had grown to like one another through their respective companions. The sarcastic comments that they shot back and forth were a constant flow of entertainment when the entire group was together. Gideon gently pulled Scarlett with him, scowling at Alice as they left the room. His expression softened once they were in the hall. "I'll let you get changed in the bathroom," he said, giving her a soft nudge in that direction once the door was closed behind them. Moving toward his suitcase, Gideon smiled at the woman. It was supposed to be a night like any other. It was only after Scarlett disappeared that Gideon felt something happen. For a moment, he thought it was just his imagination. He was wrong. As soon as the bathroom door closed, and the water for the sink came on, the ground seemed to rush up to greet him. Gideon fell, his mind darkening as he did. By the time Scarlett was finished, Gideon was sitting on the bed, leaning back against the blankets and staring up at the ceiling with a smile on his face. When he saw the woman, he patted the bed beside him. "Sit with me," he purred seductively, his eyes the perfect image of lust. |
The week had gone amazingly for Scarlett, she was starting to really like this man. And she was happy Gideon and Alice were softening towards each other as well. At the napkin throwing Scarlett had a slight blush and looked down at the table. "Okay." She said after Gideon whispered to her. She smiled, standing up. At the sedative joke Scarlett laughed and looked towards Alice. "Not that you need one.." She said, not wanting Alice to get mad, but then she laughed again.
Once upstairs she grabbed herself a simple blue nightie with a few pieces of lace on it and went into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, and put her dirty clothes in the hamper. She then stepped out of the bathroom to see if Gideon was done getting ready. At his seductive tone the female grinned. "Your not in your pj's silly." She said, going over and sitting by him. She gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. Andrew smirked and watched Gideon and Scarlett run off to their room. He grinned. "Sedative? I was thinking more along the lines of a tranquilizer.." He said, chuckling and looking at Alice. "I'm just kiddin', Babe." He said, standing up and kissing her forehead. He took her hand after they finished cleaning up and led her towards the stairs. "Your ready for bed?" He asked, his brown eyes staring at her. |
"I know," Gideon replied, reaching up to stroke Scarlett's cheek. He sat up and shirked his shirt, shrugging once he was finished. "I am now." With a smile, he cupped her cheek. "You're so warm." Leaning forward, he pressed a kiss to her lips. Shifting so he could pull the woman into his lap, Gideon suggestively ran a hand over her leg, trailing kisses down the side of Scarlett's throat.
- "I know you're kidding," Alice said, smiling as her forehead was kissed. "You would have no company if I went under." They cleaned the dining area quickly, and as they headed for the stairs, she nodded. "I think I spent too much energy trying to kill Gideon earlier." She'd managed to make the guy choke on his food, and Alice had purposefully spilled some water on him. Those were the most mellow examples, but it was their budding relationship that sparked it all. Meeting Andrew's brown eyes, she leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I think some sleep would be good." She pushed ahead of Andrew, pulling him up the stairs after her. "I need to hide the sedative before you get there." With a wink, the girl made her way to the room while Andrew trailed after her. "Be back," she said, moving to change into pajamas. She returned wearing sweats and a t-shirt, flopping into bed and swiftly curling up in a mass of blankets. |
She let a soft moan escape her lips, bending her neck so that he had easy access to it. She let him pull her into his lap and she ran her fingers down his chest. "Gideon.. I didn't know you wanted to do anything.. I would've wore a nicer nighty." She giggled, her hands on his shoulders.
Andrew grinned and went into the room, watching as she collapsed on the bed. The male slipped his jeans off so that he was just in his black boxers, and then left his black tee shirt on. He went over to the bed as well and collapsed. "Ugh, this was a long day.." He groaned, yawning. |
"You're beautiful just the way you are," he breathed, nipping her throat lightly. Gideon seemed drawn onward by her soft words. With a swift movement he had her trapped beneath him, his lips eagerly meeting hers. "You were always beautiful to me."
((:XD As much as I'd like to add more conversation into this little blip here, I don't think he has words in mind. :sweat:)) - "Very long. You wore yourself out by chasing your sister through the house." Alice giggled, squirming around until her face appeared from between the blanket and pillow. "I'm surprised she didn't leave something wet and slimy in your bed." Her smile was wide as she watched the male yawn. "If you're that worn out, you should sleep. I'll put on some music to keep me happy." She wasn't tired, but that was alright. Alice wanted Andrew to rest up and feel better by morning. The group had been doing a lot together, and it was nice to have a few moments alone. "Love you." Wriggling about until she was closer to Andrew, Alice pressed a kiss to his shoulder. |
(Haha, well i'm just gonna time skip now. Lol you should have Gideon wake up and see that him and Scar are in the nude. xD That'll freak him out.)
Andrew gave a slight nod. "Love you too. And yeah, I'm pretty tired.." He said, putting an arm around her and laying down. In a matter of minutes the blonde male was a sleep. |

Gideon shifted slightly, slowly opening his eyes. He could see Scarlett's bare shoulder . . . and within seconds his mind was sifting over what he could remember. What happened? Sucking in a sudden breath, he tried not to pull away from the woman or wake her up. Why can't I remember? The last thing he recalled was watching Scarlett go to get changed. There was a strange pain in his head, and then . . . he woke up. Feeling his breath quicken, Gideon reached up to wipe a hand over his face. Did Alice slip something into his drink? They were after one another in rivalry, but not that spiteful. She wouldn't have done that. A sudden realization hit him. He could feel the warmth of Scarlett pressed against him as she slept. A furious blush attacked his features as he realized that there was nothing separating them. He swiftly snagged the blanket that had fallen to the floor, pulling it up around them as his brown eyes filled with confusion. How could he forget that? Carefully slipping out of bed, Gideon raked a hand through his hair, looking and feeling more terrified. What the hell had happened? Within moments he found a pair of pants. A few moments after that he stood looking into the mirror, wondering why he felt so . . . strange. He moved back into the room, sitting in the chair near the bed. Letting his head sink into his hands, Gideon squeezed his eyes shut. This is just a dream. I'll wake up in a few minutes. Looking at Scarlett's covered form, he shook his head in frustration. No. This can't be a dream. It's a nightmare. - Alice stared at Andrew as he slept, her fingers gently messing with his blonde hair. Whenever he dreamed, he shifted slightly. She loved watching him sleep. The soft sound of music drifted from her earphones as she yawned, leaning her head against the man's shoulder. It was strange that nothing had happened to them throughout the week. She thought there would have been more trouble from Troy. With a mental shrug, Alice slid out of bed and headed for the kitchen. She was going to make breakfast for everyone that day. Alice would have it finished by the time Andrew woke up, and hopefully before anyone else was out of bed. |

Images of the previous night fluttered through Scarlett's mind when Gideon got up. She had been frozen for hours now. He had been so rough with her.. and he had given her so many scary looks. It was as if she had been with a different person. Scarlett felt her heart pounding, and decided to get up and take a shower. The blondes eyes met Gideons and she cowardly looked down at the floor. She knew she shouldn't be so odd about it, but he had just been so.. cold towards her. The blonde wrapped her black silk robe around her. "Do you remember what happened?" She asked, obviously frightened. "You were so out of it.. and so..forceful.." She said, looking down at her feet. "You were like a completely different person." She said, her eyes glancing up at him. "I'm gonna take a shower real quick." She said, heading into the bathroom. She flipped the light on, her eyes darting to the mirror but instead of seeing her by herself, she saw Troy. Troys face flashed between Giden and himself several times. "Gideon please tell me you remember something.." She said, opening the door. "Or else Ireally think somethings wrong.." She said, fear in her eyes. "Troys in the mirror, and he looks like you did last night!" She said, frowning. "Oh no.." She said, starting to sob. Andrew groaned in his sleep, moving slightly as Alice got out of bed. He was kind of a heavy sleeper, and right now he was having an amazing dream. He heard a slight sob come from the other room and his eyes fluttered open. He sat up, looking around. "Alice?" |
Hearing the blankets rustle, Gideon looked up to meet Scarlett's eyes. She swiftly looked away. That small action brought more fear into his heart than anything. "Scarlett," he didn't move from his place. Frozen, he watched her wrap herself in her dark robe. "I what?" He wished more than anything that Scarlett would meet his eyes and talk to him. Instead, she cringed and turned away. When the bathroom door closed behind her, Gideon grit his teeth and pressed his clenched fists to his eyes. I hurt her.
He didn't recall a moment of it. Staying in his place, Gideon heard Scarlett's voice. Looking to the open door, he shook his head. "I don't remember anything, Scarlett." His voice wavered, as though he was devastated. Seeing the fear in her gaze, the male stood swiftly. "Troy," he repeated, blinking in surprise. That's when Scarlett started to cry. Her sob made his heart wrench. Gideon swiftly moved toward her, wrapping his arms about her in worry. "No. I . . . didn't. Nothing happened." He wished his words were true. He felt her tears on his skin, and the touch of the water emotion made anger well up within him. "You were hurt." A heavy sense of sorrow moved over him then, and his expression darkened. "I hurt you." He'd promised he never would. - ((Of course, Alice doesn't hear him. :( She's already out cooking. *sniffle* Dang, I feel so bad for Scarlett!)) |

"No, it wasn't you!" She said, giving him a quick kiss to keep the sorrow out of his eyes. "It was Troy! Some how he was you!" She said, crying. "I cam out of the bathroom last night and you were just so..lustful! And whenever we kissed before you were always so gentle, making sure not to hurt me, or put to much weight on me, but it had to of been Troy because whatever he did to you.. well you were very rough. Kind of commanding too.." She said, looking up at Gideon. She heard a males laugh coming from the bathroom and slammed the bathroom door shut, running over to the chair Gideon had been sitting in and collapsing in it, sobbing. "I'm so stupid! I thought it was you.." She cried, standing up. She went over to her bag and rumaged through it. No birth control pills. She didn't think she'd be coming here to get laid..so she left them. "I can't remember if he used a condom either. He was very over powering.." She said, frowning and looking back at Gideon. "Gideon..i'm so sorry.." She whispered, still sitting by her suitcase as she cried. "We need to get out of here so I can buy something.." She said, standing up. "Or ask Alice if she has any..Because that definitely wasn't you. Especially since you didn't even talk with me.. or even looked at me nicely.." She said, sitting on the bed. Andrew stood up, stretching. He walked past his sisters room, not wanting to get in their conversation. The male hurried down the steps and wandered into the kitchen. "Morning Babe." He said, sitting in a high up chair right next to the counter. "Whatcha making?" He asked. |
A flash of something entered his mind, making Gideon's eyes fill with more confusion. He could . . . see something. Almost a memory, it lingered just out of his reach. He heard no laughter, but when Scarlett closed the bathroom door he seemed to understand. "No! You weren't stupid. You trusted me. It was me asking you, making you."
Watching as Scarlett sat, and then stood in agitation, Gideon stood nearby with an expression of worry on his face. When she finally sat down again, Gideon moved to rest a hand on her head. Not knowing what to say, he shook his head and felt his throat tighten. Perhaps it wasn't his mind that did it, but there was nothing he could say about wanting to. It was unfortunate that it happened through him . . . but by someone else's prompting. "Even if it wasn't me, you were still with me." It was his face, his form, that she would see. Troy might have interfered, but the action had been through Gideon. "I'll destroy him," he growled, sounding like he was in pain. "I won't have him touch you again." Crushed, Gideon knelt before the woman and pulled her head to him. Resting their foreheads together, he let out a broken sigh. "I can't believe this." He was still uncertain if it had been him, or Troy. His hands cradled the woman's face as he fought against his emotions, not sure what to think. "Then let's talk to Alice. Andrew and I haven't found a way out of this damned place." - Alice didn't hear Andrew, for her headphones were in. Just as she was humming along to a song, she turned . . . and almost screamed when she saw the male. Startled, she set down the spatula and pulled a headphone loose. "Andrew!" Looking relieved, she sighed. "I thought I saw someone this morning, but it was my imagination. I thought it was Gideon." With a frown, she shook her head. "Breakfast will be done soon. We're having pancakes and strawberries." With a smile, she leaned up to kiss Andrew's brow. He looked so cute when he was still scuffed up from sleep. "You slept well, from what I saw. Scarlett sighed. He was right. She had trusted him, and believed it was him. "But I should've known that you would've been gentle with me.. But I just believed you were caught up in the moment." She said, standing up. "We'll get through this okay?" She said, taking his hand and squeezing it gently. She led teh male down the hall, still in her robe. "Everything will be fine. Gideon I will always think of you as an amazing man okay? And even if Troy did this to us remember that you still have my heart." She whispered, kissing him quickly. She walked down the steps into the kitchen. "Alice.. can I talk to you alone?" She asked, fear showing clearly in her eyes. She gently released Gideons hand and patted it gently. Andrew nodded. "Yeah, I feel great. And food's going to help big time." He smiled, though it faded at Scarlett and Gideons expressions. The male looked at them curiously. |
"Okay," Gideon whispered, returning her kiss before they presented themselves to the others. His gaze met Andrew's briefly, and then he moved toward Alice. "I'll finish this up. You've done a good job." That was the first compliment he'd ever given Alice. Those words made the other woman jolt as though stung. This had to be serious.
"Sure. Let's talk." Alice's eyes were wide as she moved past Gideon and Andrew, carefully placing a hand on Scarlett's arm until they were out of hearing range. She kept walking, leading them to Andrew's room slowly. "What's going on, Scar?" Gideon sighed, his gaze on the food as he turned off the heat. Flipping pancakes onto a plate, he started some more and stared at them silently. We'll get through this. |
"Troy tricked me into sleeping with him..and I was wondering if you had any pills with you?" She asked, tears coming back to her eyes. "He took over Gideon! Gideon doesn't even remember what happened yesterday and I know that wasn't Gideon because Troy was in the mirror.." She sobbed. "Please don't tell Andrew. He won't believe me. He'll think it was Gideon.."
Andrew looked over at Gideon. "Whats her problem?" He asked, yawning and stretching once again. |
"He what?!" Alice lowered her voice again, blinking in surprise. "So . . . you know it was Troy?" she asked skeptically, trying to give Gideon the benefit of the doubt. When Scarlett started to cry, she reached out and hugged her tightly. "I'm so sorry! That's terrible!" She wasn't sure if she believed Troy did it or not, but she wanted to help this girl. They entered Andrew's room where Alice's belongings were, and she swiftly closed the door behind them.
"I-I don't carry pills with me, Scar." She pulled away, taking both of the girl's hands. Meeting her gaze for a moment, she shook her head. "Maybe we girls should share a room tonight. The guys can have the other one." She thought of what Scarlett said about telling Andrew . . . and she knew that it was true. Andrew would be pissed at Gideon, and then there would be quite the situation to deal with. "I won't tell him," she whispered, hating every word she spoke. Hiding anything from Andrew was a pain in the butt . . . he was good at sniffing out secrets, and Alice wasn't the best at keeping them. She didn't have many for a reason. "I'm sorry! I don't even have any. I don't own any." There was nothing she could do to help her friend. - "A . . . nightmare," Gideon said quietly, keeping his gaze on the food. He resentfully realized that he was going to lie for Scarlett's benefit. Then again . . . if it would keep Scarlett safe, shouldn't he tell the truth? Perhaps it would be better for her if they weren't together. Struggling with his decision, Gideon finally shook his head and sighed. "She's been through too much." He avoided looking at Andrew for the fear of blurting something that Scarlett wanted hidden. Was it really worth it? Was it really worth it all to lie to her brother? |
Scarlett frowned. "Oh. Well I suppose staying with you wouldn't hurt." She smiled. "Wait. Then Andrew would know something was up.. And I know it was Gideon. Troy revealed it to me this morning." She said, frowning."It's okay tht you don't have any. I probably don't even need them." She said, sighing."Well lets get back out there.." She said, going back into the kitchen. She went over to Gideon and wrapped her arms around his back. "Can we talk later?" She asked, kissing his cheek.
Andrew nodded. "Oh." He said, not thinking much of it. |
There was a nearly uncomfortable silence until the girls returned. When Scarlett's arms wrapped about him, Gideon relaxed visibly. "Anything," he whispered, meeting her gaze softly. He would do anything for her, and now he felt the need to prove it. Setting the next plate of pancakes aside, the male turned so he could embrace her more thoroughly. "Breakfast is ready," he said to no one in particular. For a few moments he couldn't take his eyes off of Scarlett.
"I love you," he said quietly, stroking back some of her hair. He carefully wiped away the last traces of her tears, kissing her forehead gently. Everything else went unsaid, but his eyes did the talking for him. And I'm sorry. They sat down for breakfast in an unusual silence, the only sounds breaking it being their forks as they started to eat. Alice finally cleared her throat and began to talk. "So . . . the weather is quite nice today. We should all go on a walk around the grounds together." |
Scarlett quickly pulled Gideon into the other room. "I love you too." She said, kissing him again on the lips. "Don't be upset about what happened. I love you. I don't care about what Troy did. It will never make me dislike you. Okay?" She said, hugging him and kissing him again. "Whatever happens I'll never be mad at you." She whispered, then led him back into the kitchen. The two sat at the counter. "Yeah, nice weather were havin.." She grinned. "A walk does sound really nice." The blonde piped, looking at the people around her.
Andrew stared at Gideon and Scarlett, wondering what their problem was. He rolled his eyes. "Thanks for the food you two." He said, looking to Alice and Gideon. "A walk sounds nice." The male said, smirking. He continued to eat his food. |
Gideon was silent, but smiled in agreement. "After breakfast, then!" Alice laughed, trying to shake off the horrible feeling in her gut. "And I had the food covered. I think that one there is Gideon's job." She pointed to the pancake she'd slightly burnt, giving the dark-haired male a devious smile.
When she prodded him with her foot, Gideon seemed to realize what she said. "Of course. I did the terrible things. This one," he took a bite of his pancake (which he'd actually made), "is one that Alice made." He tried to put the dark time behind him, but his mind kept returning to it. "At least we know who's the better cook." Alice smiled, glancing between Scarlett and her man. That was when she snagged a bite off of Andrew's plate. "Maybe we'll find something you boys missed last time." She meant a way out. "You know . . . how are we going to get out of this place? Ever? Will they come get us?" She frowned. "I don't remember if there were plans made or not." ((:sweat: Alright . . . do we have a point B? LOL, where to now?)) |
