My father, he's awful really. I do all I can to help him, yet he's reluctant to give me that little piece of freedom I need. It's a little sad when I'm at the age which I am.

Thanks guys :)... I wanted to stay on to talk to my... yeah. But of course, my dad would push me off the computer as "You've no life." or something like "You're rude."... yet the explanation is never actually given as to why he would say these things.
And, haha. My dad takes nothing I say as anything. He likes to be right all the time :/ |
No one is right all the time. It sounds a bit like he is insecure, as though he wants to say these things but has nothing to really back it up. And to be proven wrong would affect his insecurity.

I've always hated my family, mostly my parents, so I can not say much about their worth or usefulness in any aspect. It's best to keep it out of the thread anyway and keep it at a lighter level. Although I really hate to hear about parents being stubborn or useless to their kids, be the kids teenagers or adults.

I suppose your right. Although I would like to say I'm sorry to hear that about your situation. But what doesn't kill us, only mangles us or something like that. Right? :]

Ahill: It's no problem. I left them behind a long time ago. And true, in a way.. What does not kill us scars us up, beats us down, leaves us half-dead, but if you can survive that it makes you stronger!

You should tell them to back away, just a bit. You are an adult, after all, and appreciate their help, but it's your turn. |
Yeah Roz, I feel ya' my mother is still that way and I'm 23, I've had the back off convo, and it's worked, to an extent haha

Yay. ^ ^ And sure, Roza is just fine with me. :3 I tell them, and they're backing off little by little. I've been trying since I turned 18. Lol. Mom is becoming more lenient than my dad is, so I'm getting there.! >.< Ahi Yeah, I'm working on it with the parents. Mom is getting better at backing off, dad still is trying but it's better than when I was in high school. Lol. --- Brb, dinner is calling. :drool: |
Good to know, Roza. I do believe if a parent has a way of raising their kids, they really hate letting go of their customs, even when the kid is thirty years old! My grandmother is that way with her kids, as I saw quite a bit while at home.

@ Fleetfantasy- Well I hadn't started the program yet, and I might have to go back to my old college. :(
Ugh... I feel really sad and depressed. Looks like I won't be moving to Virginia after all. :cry: I don't know where I am going to live at this point. :( |
