Looking for a RolePlay to end my boredom
So... uhm. I'm new here but I roleplay alot on other sites, and since I have a feeling you don't want to read some huge paragraph I'm going to sum up what's important in a few bullets.
Well, that's the important stuff. I'f you'd like an example of my writing feel free to ask. As for my current idea's and/or cravings they would happen to be: A. Anything adventure-y. and a collection of random ideas that have come into my head. Anything underlined is something I was thinking Yaoi for, and a bold is somethign I've been craving. SPOILER |
I would like to replay with you but I have two things to ask
no intricate posting formats and I might not be on everyday but when I am on I post fluently I can keep up with your posting length. Wanna replay? |
Ooh, I love dragons! And thank you for being terse. I've been craving a sort of romantic RP too. If we do end up RPing, how would you like to incorporate dragons into the plot? Would it be something like How To Train Your Dragon where they aren't really characters as much as a source of conflict? Or would it be something like anthros where our characters could transform into dragons?
And I'm able to match people's lengths. I usually write one or two paragraphs, though my introductions are a little longer. For grammar and spelling, I usually have one or two mistakes peppered through my writing, but nothing major. For romance, I'm a huge fan of shounen-ai. And for plot, I like to go into detail and have a semi-defined line of events at the least. It takes me a little while to reply, but usually not more than a day. Oh, and before this thing gets waaay to much of a read, I'm a hopeless romantic and love sappy moments, hahahahaha XD Sorry for this heavy set reply. |
Bookwormness - I'm okay with what you've asked, so I'd be intrested. Did you have any ideas in mind?
piptik - I too am a hopeless romantic and fan of shounen-ai, and I swear you just wrote a paragraph about how I write. As for the dragons I was thinking of something that just poped into my mind (and could be shounen-ai) where there would be one human of a high social standing. (Probably royalty, or a lord.) Having made peace with another country gifts are exchanged. A dragon being one of the gifts. Then we'd have our romance since the dragon would be able to shape-shift into a human form. |
Awesome! You never find enough romantics here! ::dances a little bit:: And you idea is fantastic! Maybe since the royalty lives a privileged life they'd be a little snooty and demanding towards the dragon? Or they could be the kind of person that detested spoiled and snobby upper class people and felt bad for the dragon so they tried to help them escape to freedom (though this kind of scenario would be best for the royalty to be maybe a prince so they'd actually have someone to rebel against, as opposed to a lord)?
Also, I really love the idea of the dragon being able to shape-shift for some reason, hahahahaha XD |
Yay for rebellious princes! <3
I'm up for the helping the dragon escape idea, though since the dragon was a peacekeeping gift of sorts he can't release the dragon. For some reason I'm thinking the the dragon can only sleep in his human form so he keeps running into the prince at night when he's looking for a good place to sleep. |
XD Totally!
And yeah, that's a good point. Maybe the prince would want to try and find a way to create a kind of mimic dragon with magic and that way he really wouldn't be getting rid of the peace gift but just replacing it? What if there was a really good reason to try and release the dragon, even if he was a sort of peace holder? Maybe (since how else would a kingdom get a hold of a dragon unless they were a sort of minority of the classes) they stole the dragon away from his home and family and the prince figured that out somehow. Then there would be a valid reason to try and free the dragon, despite his importance between the two kingdoms. And that sounds pretty cute :3 Though that sounds like it implies that the dragon has the allowance of roaming about the castle as he pleases. How will the dragon be treated? As an actual addition to royalty or more as a pet? |
Maybe the dragon had been disowned by his family for being small or having some kind of flaw, like being unable to breath fire or being really small compared to his siblings or somethinglike that? So he'd try to stay no matter what to prince tries to do, sicne he sees the royal family as family? He'd probably be treated more as a pet, a very clingy pet. (Since a keep imaging him sleeping at the prince's feet during meals.)
|
That sounds really good, actually. Maybe since he was unusually small and more docile than other dragons his family decided to disown him? Then there'd be this whole resentment from the prince because since he's rebellious and doesn't really get along with his family. It would be like having a complete stranger who you think would naturally want to return to their family move in and get along better with your family than you did. Or something like that XD
And that sounds pretty damn adorable, ahahaha XD So the dragon would be uke, right? At least, that's the impression I'm getting. |
Yes, the dragon would be the uke and it is really adorable, I don't want to admit it, but I'm fangirl squealing on the inside.
Though I'm curious, how small do we want the dragon to be? For some reason I'm thinking large horse sized, with normal dragons being twice that size. |
So sorry for taking so long to reply! ^^"
XD Hahahahaa, it's awesome, admit it! Cute ukes are pretty much the main reason why I like shonen-ai, so this is going to be fantastic! That and the fact that whenever it's a shoujo romance, I get a little frustrated with the heroin with the story. And I was thinking like Harry Potter size, with the tiny baby dragon. I mean, that would make the uke look more like a puppy, I guess. But large horsey sounds good too. Actually, that sounds really flipping adorable XD Now I'm imagining that the prince was ignoring the dragon or the dragon just really wanted his attention so he started nuzzling him, hahahaha >w< And since the dragon is very small in his beast form, that means he'd be pretty small as a human, right? |
It's okay, I just wanted to be sure you knew I'd posted.
Oh my god... thats definetly a 10/10 on the adorableness scale, XD and yes. I ws thinking five foot four, with the prince and most other people being a few inches taller. I just had an idea that the prince actually has a younger brother (or sister, probably about five or six years old) the gets along really well with the dragon in both of his forms. So that would be how the prince figures out that the dragon has a human form. |
^^"
Huh? The little baby-sized dragon? Five foot four? XD That's my hight! :P How old would our characters be? I think it'd be kind of funny if the dragon was older than the prince, even though he had the mentality and stature of someone younger. And that sounds great! The little sibling could also act as a kind of mediator between the two because I think we sort of established the prince isn't going to exactly be all warm and friendly to begin with. Oh, but then what happens to the idea of the dragon stumbling into the prince when he's looking for somewhere to sleep? Maybe the prince mistakes him for a girl? Like the dragon looks really cute in his human form, but the prince has a hard time telling genders so mistakes his cuteness for femininity? Then the prince might develop a tiny crush, thinking that he was just a new vessel or something. If we did that it would be really funny when his sibling told him that the dragon was a boy and maybe introduced him to the human form of the dragon. I could see the prince flipping out and shouting something like, "In no way is that a boy! He's too adorable! Only girls are that cute! He's a she!" Or something like that :P |
I'm also five foot four! XD I'm thinking the prince will be twenty or twenty-one. It does seem cuite that the dragon would be older. How much older were you thinking? The idea of the younger sibling being a mediator between the two is intresting and I like it. Maybe we should change the dragon looking for somewhere to sleep to the prince stumbling upon the dragon and the younger sibling out in the courtyard talking about something.
The prince mistaking the dragon for a girl is a great idea. To make it even harder to tell that the dragon is a he I was thnking he might have hair that is fairly long or wear clothing that makes him look a little more feminine than he does naturally. As for the ideas for the crush and the younger sibling telling the prince the dragon is actually a he, I'm in for those. |
Dude, crazy! XD And I like your new avi, by the by.
Mm, well just because of the whole rebellious thing, I thought he'd still be a teenager, but early twenties sounds just as good. And I don't know. It depends on the life span of our dragons; do we want them to be something like a wise and powerful race and therefor with very long life expectancies? Or should they just be a little more normal and shorter life spans? In most fantasies I've read, dragons usually live for hundreds of years so I was thinking that maybe the dragon was 50 years older or some such. But that gives us a longer span of time for our dragon's history and makes us a little obliged to give it more detail than if he were only a few years older. And that sounds good. I still want to do the idea with our lovely little dragon winding up sleeping with the prince. Maybe he and the sibling (I'm thinking that the younger sibling is a girl, for some reason) got scared (like they were both afraid of lightning and a bad storm was taking place) and ran to the prince for comfort, begging him to let them sleep in his bed. Or the dragon didn't want to sleep with the sibling because they wanted to dress him up in a nightgown or something frilly (Ah-ha! That's probably why I think the sibling's a girl, because I was thinking that they'd try to dress the dragon up) and so instead he went to the prince and convinced him to share his bed. I mean, the idea sounds so cute I don't want to pass it up. Them sleeping in the same bed, I mean (that probably sounds really bad, hahahahaha ^^;;). Thanks! Ah, awesome! :D Maybe we could do a little of both? Like he has really nice hair that he keeps back in a ponytail (a lot of royalty do that in fantasies, anywho) and the sibling dresses the dragon up? That's why I want the sibling to be a girl, maybe around ten or eleven. Because I was also thinking that since they'd be young, the prince would be easier swayed by them because of a sort of brotherly complex. What do you think? Great :) Maybe we could have the sibling sort of adopt the dragon as their pet/child-doll-thing? That way when the dragon is with the sibling and the prince sees, he'd think that there was just some new maid or something taking care of his little sibling. |
Hiya!
I'm new to the site (as you can probably tell) but I assure you I've been roleplaying much much longer. So uhm. I'm open to anything. On some of my other sites, I have search threads. So I'm going to try to get one up on here as well. > w <' I apologize if this just annoyed you! |
Piptik
Ah… you’re right. It would make more sense for him to be a teenager, and it would be cool to be able to have more back-story for the dragon if he’s older. As for their life spans, I was thinking they’d live to maybe five hundred and start living on their own around the dragon’s current age, so 50, give or take a few years, seems okay. I’m in for the dragon and younger sibling somehow ending up sleeping in the prince’s room, and the other one too… maybe they could both happen, just on different nights or something. As for the sibling’s gender, I’m perfectly fine with them being a girl or 10 or 11; it’s actually pretty adorable. I can imagine her dressing up the dragon in a dress that would match hers for a royal ball or something, and I love the idea of the dragon being the sibling’s pet/child-doll-thing, as you worded it. XD Just so we’re on the same page, and because I want to make sure I have an organized place for all of this information, I’m making a list of the important facts/ideas we’ve come up with for regarding the plotline. -A dragon has been given to the rebellious prince of some country as a peacekeeping gift. -The dragon is given free roaming of the castle and is the size of a large horse. -Most dragons are double that size. -The prince thinks the dragon isn’t happy, when he really is, and tries to get rid of the dragon many times though it keeps coming back. -This dragon has the ability to shape shift into a human form, is extremely docile and for this reason was disowned by his parents, and gets long very well with the prince’s younger sister. -The prince’s younger sister thinks of the both of the dragon’s forms as playmates and often dresses up the dragon’s very feminine and fragile human form in dresses. Even thought he dragon is actually a male. -Upon seeing his younger sister with the dragon’s human form multiple times, the prince has assumed the dragon’s human form is actually a lady, and a new maid in charge of watching over is sister. Broken I'm open to trying a roleplay with you. Did you have any cravings you'd like to try out right now, and would you mind if I can see an example of what you normally post? |
Great! :) So how old exactly for our prince? I was thinking seventeen or sixteen, simply because that is usually the prime time for teenagers to be rebellious. And yes, it's be nice to have a longer history for the dragon. It'll probably be easier to understand him as a character, too, not to mention our story will be more realistic. The life-span sounds solid, so what's left for our dragon is his life story, hahaha :)
I was playing around with the idea that he would not only be smaller than all the dragons, but also a different color. That would help to better isolate him from the rest of his species, though that would make him more clingy in our RP, right? And what happens after he's disowned? Would he try to stick around the outskirts of where he had once lived before being driven off for good? Or would he immediately go searching for other dragons or even just a replacement family? That's when he could have been found by the other kingdom, where they might keep him as a pet for a little and then give him to the prince. Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking, actually! :D Though for both of them sleeping in his bed, I was thinking that it really wouldn't be 'begging' the prince, but more like the dragon and sister just dashing under the covers without permission. I mean, it might be funnier that way. Especially if the prince tried to shove them off but melted when he saw his little sister so frightened. What do you think? Hahaha, after reading that I tried sketching a picture of the sibling and dragon getting ready for a celebration! It didn't go too well though. :P And yeah, I'm so articulate with the comparing-the-dragon-to-something-relevant-thing, huh? XD Thanks for composing that! 'Twas very practical of you! XD Oh, and should we name and design our characters now? Or should we wait until we have all of the plot down? |
Sixteen or seventeen works, maybe the prince could be just about to turn seventeen in a few months.
As for the different color idea, that made me think albino, then make it so no dragons naturally come in light colors like white and silver. As for the eyes, since normal albinos normally have red eyes because you're actually seeing the blood behind the eyes, I was thinking dragons might have a different colored blood for different colored eyes... I was thinking purple. as for the rest of your backstory I like it all. I don't just like it... I love it!!!!! I can imagine the prince being mad one second but then realizes its storming and accepts his sister and the dragon for the night sicne he knew about her fear already. For some reason I'm imagining the dragon wearing some kind of big floppy hat, like they'd been playing some late night dress-up when the storm started. I'd love to see the sketch either way, andyou're very welcome, being practical is one of my specalties. I think we can name and design now, we might get plot ideas down as we go along. |
I like the idea with him just about turning seventeen. Let's do that. And I just started to think about the prince's social life. My idea of him had been that he was a loner, but now I'm thinking it would be cool for him to have a small circle of friends. It would be sort of like a comic relief maybe? Like they'd know he was infatuated with the dragon (although this would be at the point where the prince still didn't know she was a he) and tried to set him up with her, maybe at a ball or social event? I'm sorry, I just remembered this one Shakespeare play I saw a few months ago (I forgot the name, unfortunately) and it's been running my imagination for a while, hahahahahhaa. ^^"
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Purple sounds excellent, too. I'm beginning to feel lots of sympathy for our dragon now, hahahaha. And great! So after he's disowned by his parents, the dragon will look for the company of his ilk but then be driven off again before he is found by the kingdom opposite the prince's and kept as a pet before being given as a peace offering. Does that sounds like a good mesh of all the ideas? And how does the dragon feel about prince-boy? We've already established that the prince has a small crush, but that's about it. If the dragon and prince are going to end up together (why else would we be doing this RP, hahahaha) what is it about the prince that our dragon really likes? Hahahaha, that's great! The hat bit sounds nice too. This RP is going to be stellar! :D And I didn't even finish the sketch, I was so disappointed in it. I did, however, draw a few dragons if you want to see those instead. :> Oh, and about the second time our dragon shares a bed with the prince, I was thinking that it was after he knew the dragon was really a boy. Because I think the prince wouldn't allow a girl to sleep in his bed alone with him, the exception being his sister and if his sister had company like the dragon (I'm pretty sure that sentence was poorly structured, sorry). So concerning the prince and his physical appearance, I was thinking that he'd have curly, possibly a darker shade of brown hair. Other than that I really didn't give his physic much thought, hahaha ^^" We're going to set down their personalities, too, right? I was thinking that if we did that step would be better left last since we already have a very basic idea of their dispositions and character traits. Oh, and sorry it took me so long to ask about this but how did you sprain your wrist? I mean, in your signature you mentioned spraining it. |
Seventeen it is then, and a small group of friends sounds good ot me... how many people were you thinking? Three or four seems reasonable to me. The idea of the friends trying to set the two up sounds great to me. Its actually pretty adorable, I can imagine there being a girl in the prince's group of friends who acts kind of like the mother hen and ends up getting the two to drance together.
That... is a fantastic meshing of ideas. I keep thinking the dragon sees the softer side that prince-boy (I'm gonna call him that too now. XD) has locked away, and falls in love with that side. The second time the prince and the dragon share a bed, maybe it could have been another storm. Though the princess is asleep already so its just at prince and the dragon. How does that sound? The brown hair for he prince sounds good, how curly were you thinking? Like just a little wave to his hair, or extremly curly? For the dragon, we've already made it clear his hair is going to be long. Though how long are you thinking? I'm thinking it falls to the small of his back when its all brushed out... or does that seem to long? I fell off a trampoline and srained it, though it's feeling better. I'm still typing a little slow, though I'm fine. |
Fantastic! And three sounds good to me, as does having one girl friend. Her being the mother hen is a great idea, too. Reminds me of the book Emma by Jain Austin a little bit. At least the part where she sets up couples. What would you think about the mother hen on good terms with the sister, or at least enough so that she knows the dragon's true gender? Even when I type that it seems like a little much, but I keep imagining prince-boy (it's fun to call him that, maybe we should put that in the RP? XD) confiding his interest in the dragon and mother hen quirking an eye-brow, saying in her head, "You what now?" >u<;;
And great, thank you! That's one bio down, now roughly five to go! (If we do all the characters we've come up with so far) That makes a lot of sense. Actually, I was thinking that he'd be a really nice guy, just rough around the edges, so to speak. I mean, since he's supposed to be really rebellious and doesn't get along with his parents well (at least that's what I thought) he'd seem a little grumpy and anti-social from a distance. And I think our prince-boy is the kind of person who wants to appear strong so maybe hiding his soft side would be him trying to conceal what he thought was a weakness? Yeah, that sounds good. I could imagine him being a little hesitant at first, at least a little surprised, but then a feeling similar to when he saw his sister kicked up and he let the dragon stay. What if princey woke up and just found our dragon sleeping in his bed? Like he'd wake up and notice that there was something warm next to him and turn his head to look, finding the adorable dragon boy sleeping in the fetal position, snuggled up close. Or maybe that's how he finds them after the second time they sleep together? Not too curly, more wavy. I tried sketching a picture of what my idea of our prince was, would you like to see? And that sounds very realistic, considering that in most fantasies and medieval stories girls keep their hair very long, so he'd just be matching other people. Maybe the little sister persuaded him to grow out his hair too, so she's have more of it to play with. That sucks! But it's good you're getting better and feeling well. Are you a little more weary of the trampoline now? |
I think the mother hen character being on good terms with the prince's sister and knowing the dragon is a male is a good idea. As for prince-boy, I'm thinking that his friends would call him prince-boy when their just joking around.
I also love the idea for how the two end up sleeping together the second time. I'd love to see the sketch for prince-boy, I cketch a little myself if I get a chance. I'm just more aware of where the edge it when I'm jumping now, but I've been on once or twice already since then. |
Ah, cool! So I wasn't being lame, hopefully. XD And yeah, that's what I was thinking too. So the other two of his friends would be male, correct? What social standing do you think his friends have? I was thinking that maybe one of them would be a knight (in training)? Another could be the child of a noble and the other a cousin of the prince that was adopted because their parents died (wow, that's very depressing, hahahaha ^^;; Maybe you should ignore that suggestion).
Ah, great! We're getting a lot of this set up pretty quickly. Yay for efficiency! :D Oh, and I'm wondering when the dragon falls in love with prince-boy. I thought it would be really difficult for him to find the good side he had locked up when princey is supposed to be trying to free him most of the time. Do you think our dragon would catch a glimpse of him nurturing a hatchling that had fallen out of a tree, or reviving dead puppies, maybe wiping the tears from a heart-broken unicorn? XD I like the idea of our dragon spotting princey in the middle of him doing something that takes a gentler character than he tries to show, though. Did you have anything specific in mind when you suggested the dragon falling in love with the softer side of prince-boy? Great! And I'd love to see some of your drawings, if you're willing to share them! :) Here's the sketch: http://slimber.com/gallery/pictures2/7/70668/prince.jpg It's pretty messy, and not all too flattering. I tried really hard to make our prince handsome, but that's a skill I'm still developing, hahahaha! XD Hahaha, that sounds like the proper precaution. Trampolines are so sweet, just as long accidents don't happen XD How long have you had the trampoline? |
The knight and the lord's son are good idea, as is the idea for one the have been adopted. It adds a sense or realism to this, so it isn't all fluffy bunnies and sparkly rainbows. I'd kind of like having that one in there, but if you don't like it we could change it to just one of the parents died, like of some sickness or something so the remaining parent moved the two into the castle.
Yay for efficiency... exactly what I was thinking! XD Unicorns! Definetly the unicorn... though maybe it hurt itself in a fight against wolves or a bear in the forest of something like that and he's secretly nurturing it back to full health on the royal stables under the guise he's going to give it as a return gift for the dragon but then it 'escapes' back into the woods. Though I origonally had in mind the dragon seeing how prince-boy was trying to help him by trying to get him out over and over again. I've actually got a sketch in the works as we speak. I have a feeling its somehow going to end up romantic and lacking feet. I can't draw feet, or shoes for that matter. It's adorable, it's exactly how I imagined prince-boy, except my mind had in in color... It's got that rough and brave feeling that I imagined the prince having. And your shit is fine, though it looks more like a poncho,(probably didn't spell that right) so welcome to the club of people who can't draw certian things. CoPWCDCT for short. XD It's actually my neighbor's trampoline, and their away for a week and a half so we've been given permission to use it while they're gone. |
