Severus Tobias Snape was eleven years old. Currently, he was sitting on a train on his way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was a half breed, meaning he had one magical parent and one non-magical parent. His wand, as he'd just found out, was a fourteen in rosewood wand with a Thestral tail hair core. It was currently sitting in his lap, along with some money.

His father wasn't happy about him going to Hogwarts, at all. His mother, on the other hand, accepted it. Severus, however, was thrilled for many reasons. One; he'd be with his best friend Lily Evans. They might even be sorted into the same house! And two; he'd be away from his parents' fighting.

He sat on the train, eagerly waiting for Lily to get on the train. As he waited, a boy with brown hair, blue eyes and glasses passed his compartment. The boy gave him a bit of a dirty look, which Severus paid no mind to. All he cared about at the moment was Lily. Where was she? The train would be leaving soon...
