A Hunters Life (Woofie and Kia)
As Sam and Dean Winchester well know, the supernatural does exist. Faeries, shapeshifters, wendigos, chupacabras, vampires, werewolves, anything you can think of. Even demons, angels, and pagan gods.
So how will two new people react when they discover the Winchesters' real identities, as well as their friend Castiel? Castiel, Angel of the Lord, will get a profile if needed. Name: Callie Freeman Age: 25 Race: human Appearance: Callie has curly strawberry blonde hair almost always kept back in a ponytail or a braid, to her mid-back. She has bright green eyes, lightly tanned skin with a sprinkling of freckles, and is about 5'7". When she's working, she wears a black polo shirt and black pants. When on her own time, she wears a variety of different things, but can usually be found in jeans or jean shorts and a t-shirt of some kind. Job/Hobby: Callie works as a bartender/waitress, and her hobbies include reading, writing, and speculating about weird things that happen across the globe. |
(((If you wish for one on Dean-I can do that)))
Name: Angela (Angie) Oasis Age: 23 Race: Human/fey Appearance: Angie has short red blonde hair to past her shoulders that is medium-thick usually in a high ponytail and no bangs. Blue-green eyes (more blue than green) Light but not pale skin, 5"5 and thin yet average looking. Her outfit usually consists of sneakers, tank tops, and capris. Job/Hobby: Angie has her own website which people donate too, she keeps up on it, whenever someone joins her site she gets a bit of money and she also has a forum page called "Ask Angie" meaning if you have any questions on anything at all, supernatural or not, she would be a good person to ask. Hobbies include updating the website, reading new things, learning different things and trying to be better at those things. She loves to adventure and go around doing things wether or not dangerous. |
((Well we didn't really have a set thing to start off with for this RP, so I'm putting them at the bar. Ok for now?))
Castiel looked between the two Winchesters silently, one eyebrow raised just a little. He didn't always understand their need to go to bars, especially since he did not require any sustenance or nutrition, but they (Dean in particular) seemed to be quite adept at finding what they needed. Sometimes. Mostly Sam did research or hustled pool, and Dean hit on women and hustled pool. From what Castiel had seen, anyway. When he found the two, they were already at the bar, Sam trying to get some research done on their newest job, and Dean was playing pool with a rather large man. Cas didn't interfere, simply sat next to Sam and watched the people. While they confused him, he always wanted to know more about humans, and this was a good way to find out. Callie almost did a double-take when she noticed the new guy next to the really tall handsome guy. He and another handsome guy had come in together, and she wasn't sure to peg them as lovers or just friends. Still didn't know. But the new guy with the trench coat? Definitely not a lover to either of them. He was too stiff, too awkward looking, somehow. Shaking her head, Callie served a beer to one of the regulars with a smile, a wink, and a snarky comment. Some people just had a masochistic streak a mile wide to deal with her attitude. She rather hoped that one of her sort-of friends would come in today, though. Her friend was pretty busy, since she ran her own website, but they always had very interesting conversations. ((Let me know if you need more, or if you want me to change it at all.)) |
(okay and this should work out fine. Being friends would help out alot, it makes telling stories easier than two complete seperate ones)
Angie had decided to shut her labtop off and put it up hidden in her closet under a floor board. She loved her labtop and had lots of priceless information on it that she would love to keep. Angie had red blonde hair but not strawberry blonde it was more orangish looking. She changed out of her pajama bottoms and tank top into something more comfortable. She slipped on some blue jean capris with a white tank top, one inch blue lining on straps for the neck and back top of it. The rest was white and looked like hawaiian flowers in light pink, purple, and blue colors. It went almost past her waist like a dress but it wasn't really low cut. It was sort of normal and thin yet warm. She slipped on her blue jean sneakers minus the shoe laces and looked at herself pulling her hair up into a high ponytail, after washing her hair earlier it made her hair look a bit wavy looking with the fact it air dried. Walking outside she began to walk to the bar, she didn't live too far from it and lived in her own apartment type of place. It was average sized maybe a bit bigger but she was only renting it for awhile until she found a place to go next. Adventures was who she was originally and loved them to no extent. She showed her ID to the bouncer outside and was allowed in, she came in very often whenever she could to get out and have some fun or just get her drink once a week. Sometimes it would be soda or something else. "Hey Callie" Angie called out like usual, she wasn't human and not many knew about that, she had told Callie because she found out one night. However, anyone else it was a secret to which meant her scent wouldn't be human like it would be Fey like. Dean was having fun playing pool against someone for money, that was one way to play, it was to mostly make money to get a place to stay and eat for night maybe even a week. Dean looked up to see the girl with red orange blonde looking hair to call out towards one of the waitresss' and shrugged, she was different thats for sure but didn't seem like his type. |
((Yeah, that's what I figured. Awesome!))
Callie looked up and beamed, pushing some of her strawberry-blonde hair out of her face. It was escaping the braid, falling in curls around her face and neck as she worked. "Hey, sweets," she called back. She had a habit of calling her friends by silly nicknames like that. "You want your usual, or shall I make something new for you?" One of the things she loved was being able to make new things and test them on people. Angie was usually pretty good about testing, depending on her mood. Absently she noticed the guy playing pool look at Angie for a moment before dismissing her, and then trench coat guy looked at Angie and went still, his eyes widening just a fraction. Well, well. Tonight be more interesting than she had originally planned. Castiel looked over when he noticed someone new come into the bar, and he froze as he looked at her. She was not human. He couldn't tell precisely what she was, but she was not human. Not entirely, at least. He didn't tell Sam, though. Sam was still busy researching, hadn't even looked up except to take a sip of his beer. Castiel watched the woman, trying to categorize her, figure out what she was, his eyes bright blue and intense. Well. Moreso than usual. |
"Something new would be good, you know what I like" Angie replied sitting at the bar like she normally did. She had taken the seat next to Castiel though she didn't notice him too much except the fact he didn't seem fully human. But that was just her type of hunch, she usually didn't think much on it either.
Angie ignored any new looks at her, let alone old ones, she wasn't really popular with guys just the ones that were human fully. She had a personality of a kid and was always nice so everyone thought she was flirting, it made some upset but she didn't flirt with other girl's men. It was her type at all and just loved to come to hang with Callie even help her out in her most busy days or times. Dean looked up at Callie, not knowing her name, the boys had been there long enough, you'd think he would know or name or remember it at least. 'Wow' is what he thought when he saw her walk away until he noticed Angie glaring at him. Angie was a bit protective of her friends especially Callie since they were almost like sisters. Angie's family was states away and she was fine with that. Angie didn't notice Castiel was looking at her, though she had the feeling of being stared at. She would've looked around to find the person but she figured there would be more than one staring tonight "So hows your shift tonight? It looks a bit less busy than usual" though it was almost a weekend day, at least it wasn't a friday that was for sure. |
Callie moved around behind the bar making drinks, and deposited a new beer in front of Sam before he'd even realized he'd finished his other one. Then she put a blue-colored, somewhat swirly drink in front of Angie with a grin.
"Tell me if it needs more of a kick," she said, eager as a girl giving a present to someone she liked. Which was kind of true, except that she felt only platonic things towards Angie. And while Angie didn't notice the angel staring at her, Callie did. She gave Castiel a once-over, narrowed her eyes at him, and put a beer in front of him too. She didn't like the way he was looking at her friend. Castiel blinked at Callie's hostility, watching her soul flare and settle, and he took a sip of his beer. Alcohol rarely had an effect on him, unless he had massive quantities of it. However, it seemed the appropriate reaction, as Callie moved her attention from him around the room. He looked over at Dean, then at Sam, and went back to people-watching, this time observing Callie as she moved, as well as her friend. "It's not as busy as normal," Callie admitted. "That's okay, though. When it's super busy it's not as fun." |
Angie looked at the drink in front of her, she could hold her alcohol pretty well but didn't like to drink alot since it wasn't her thing really. Looking at it and shrugging she took a sip and instantly it reminded her of the time she mixed moutain dew with a blueberry liquid you use for kool aid. "Wow, this is sooo good, it has a sweet-sour like taste" Angie looked like a child when she replied smiling and drinking some more of it slowly.
"Did you know that staring can be quite rude somet people say" Angie spoke up to Castiel not looking at him but more towards her drinking as her focus was soley upon the drink itself. She twirled to face the game and looked towards Callie, she kind of used her eyes to look towards Dean basically asking Callie what she thought of that guy this time. It was fun playing cupid when needed to and when other people wanted or didn't want her too. Dean had on the other hand had won a game of pool which made Angie want to go over there and show him a thing or two. He walked over to the bar to pay for a drink "One beer hold the ice" he stated as if he was trying to be cool or maybe that was just the way he was and Angie was taking it a bit wrong. |
Castiel blinked when she spoke to him, and he glanced at her again. He frowned, unsure what to say, but was saved from having to come up with any kind of response as Dean walked over. Castiel could tell he'd just won some money from the excited buzzing of his brain.
"Dean," he said quietly. "I don't understand why you're here." He looked at the Hunter, getting to his feet so they were on more even ground, so to speak. His voice was, as usual, quiet and intense. Callie just smiled when Angie silently asked her what she thought of Dean. Sure, she'd seen quite a few good-looking guys before, but she usually didn't interact with them much, unless they started it. And given her friend's tendancy towards playing cupid... Well, tonight was just getting more interesting by the minute. "Sure thing, sugar," she said to Dean, pulling out an iced glass and pouring the beer before handing it to him. She took a moment to look him over again, looking between him and trench coat guy and the guy with the floppy brown hair (who looked rather exasperated, actually). But it wasn't any of her business, and she returned to wiping down the area behind the bar. |
"We need a break and this is not only the best place for information but to relax as well. Have some fun Cas" Dean stated smiling at the girl getting him his drink.
Angie laughed a little bit, she was loving this whole silent thing and the fact their buddy was more of like keeping busy while all this is going on. She felt like playing around and teasing them now. "Thanks, by the way haven't I seen you before?" Dean asks the Callie while she wiped down the bar. "I have an idea" Angie spoke up "Your name is Cas right?" wether or not she heard it, guessing names was easy and fun to her, names make up the person or the other way around. |
Castiel frowned at Dean. They did not have time to relax. They had hunting to do, and he had Heavenly things to do. But he didn't get to voice his complaint.
He glanced back at Angie as she spoke to him, and he half-way turned to her instead. Humans, or partial humans, did not often approach him. "My name is Castiel," he said, a hint of thunder behind the words. Not intentional, really; he wasn't mad, but he was unused to anyone but the two hunters calling him 'Cas'. Callie looked up at Dean and shrugged. "Dunno, sugar. I've got one of those faces, though. Like every pretty barmaid I'm sure you've seen." She gave him a little, self-depreciating smile and glanced between him and Sam. And then someone at the other end of the bar asked for a rum and Coke, and she slipped over to go give the good man his drink before returning to standing near Angie and, consequently, Dean and Sam. |
(last post and I'm off to bed-I will post in theo ther one tomorrow-I'm on early usually)
"Alright I will try to remember that, I'm bad at names though Castiel" angie spoke up thinking to herself 'Oh I like that name' she smiled at the thought. "Anyways, why not play a game, not a guessing one, a game at pool BUT Casti here has to play against me" Angie was good at pool, not the best so she relied on luck most of the time. Dean smirked, he never really seen Castiel play pool before, so this would be interesting "How about it Cas?" Dean asked still looking at Callie. "Hey pretty boy, conversation is this way" Angie stated getting Dean's attention as he turned back almost frowning. "Yea yea" was all Dean stated. |
((Alright, awesome. I should be on most of the day tomorrow.))
Castiel blinked. He had watched Dean play pool several times, but had never tried his hand at the game himself. He looked at Angie and nodded after several moments of deliberation. "Alright," he agreed. "I believe that is suitable. I have never played pool before." He still didn't quite understand why humans found it amusing, but he was willing to at least try the game. Perhaps it would help him better understand humans. Callie chuckled and shook her head, watching them go over to the pool table. No one else was using it, and she was rather curious. Angie was pretty good, but not as good as some people she'd seen. |
(This weekend I wont be on, I will be camping)
Angie knew that if she played pool against Dean she could lose since it seemed he was very skilled at it. Speaking up she asked Castiel "Do you know how to play the game or not?" she had an idea for winners and losers though. It seemed she hadn't known if the three guys had a place to stay or not, so she might ask about that sooner or later. Her thoughts were, If the guys win they can stay at her place since she was rarely home unless on the website she had. If the guys losed well she would eventually think of something for that, but, wasn't yet sure what. She never planned things out fully never knowing the true outcome. Dean set up the pool table for them and racked the 9 balls while giving Cas one of the pool sticks that should work. Dean noticed Angie chose a shorter stick, probably easier to hold, however, he waited for Cas answer and went to sat at the bar asking Callie "So who do you think will win?" He had a look on his face that expected the girl to lose, even though Cas never played it really. |
((Kay, thanks for the heads up!))
Castiel nodded slowly. "Yes, I understand how it works." He had seen Dean and Sam play enough times to know that. He took the stick, looking at it for several moments, before he switched his gaze to Angie. "I believe it would be appropriate to let you start." He would start thinking things through more once the game had actually started. Callie looked at him and shrugged. "Hard to say," she said easily. "Angie's had some practice, so it could be either one of them." She looked at the two for a moment, a little smile quirking the corners of her lips. "Honestly, though, your buddy looks a little lost. Lucky you're not playing for money." And then she went back to her work, setting up a round of shots for a rowdy table in the corner and delivering them. One of the guys there tried to grab her, and she neatly side-stepped and slipped back behind the bar where she was safe. |
(no, problem, I would put it in my siggy but no one ever reads my siggy unless i say read it)
"Alright, but, the rule here is to mainly have some fun" they both could use it, Angie had been so dedicated to her website lately she stayed inside mostly almost for a week. She normally hated staying in as well, but, when there were things to do, they must get done. Angie walked over as the plastic triangle shape was removed she put the white starter ball on the dot where it was shown the begin. "I call solids" Angie replied hitting the white ball after a moment of looking at the angle and watched the solid blue 6 ball go into a slot. She had another shot to do but wasn't sure how it would go, she already broke up the set. Now she just had to get the rest in, which without practice, wouldn't be easy. Aiming it again, she hit the ball but it didn't knock anything in. Standing up and sighing she spoke "Your turn" she wouldn't care if she won or lost but everyone liked to win at some point. "You alright?" Dean asked, he didn't like seeing anyone let alone pretty girls get grabbed at when they should've had been shown better respect, he might've been a daddy's boy but he still knew what respect was and who should receive it. Dean had taken in Callie's looks. She had a similar color to Angie but seperating the two if he had to chose, Callie was a far better person than Angie at first glance. |
((Yea, I know the feeling. Ah well. At least now I know.))
Castiel nodded, his eyes focused on the pool table, watching what she did and how the balls bounced off each other and into the little pockets. He took his first shot, and watched as the balls collided and spun and went all over. He got in one ball, one of his, and watched the others moving around, cataloguing their speeds and movement. When he took his second shot, nothing went in. He looked briefly puzzled, still trying to figure the whole thing out, but moved aside so Angie could take her shot, watching avidly. Castiel did nothing by halves. "I'm fine," Callie said, shooting him a quick, grateful smile. "Thanks, sugar. "They're just some college frat boys out for a night on the town." She dealt with those all the time, but most of them weren't quite so handsy. And even when they were, she almost never had anyone concerned about her. "So, any reason you two are here of all places?" She knew there were at least two other bars in town, and this one wasn't particularly touristy or nice or anything. |
(lol I might dissapear for like an hour or less soon)
"Okay this game could be a little longer than I thought" Angie spoke as a bit of time went by taking her shots, she would watch him on his turns and wondered if it would be harder than she thought. It was Castiel's turn now, as she spoke up "So what is someone like you, hanging out here for?" Angie new she hadn't seen these three before she would've remembered thats for sure. Dean smiled and nodded "Alright, well if you need any help with anything let us know" they were good at helping, mostly with supernatural things, but, they could handle normal things as well. Dean stepped up to answer her question next "We're looking for someone who calls himself Freddy Kougure (sp?) and that children have been missing because of him. Seen anyone like that?" they hadn't much a run on information of this character this time. |
((alrighty! I might end up hanging out with a friend today, dunno yet. We'll see))
Castiel looked at her, focusing on her for a few moments before carefully aiming and taking his shot. He was improving at this; observing the game had been more helpful than he had originally thought it would be. "I am here because Sam and Dean are here," he said quietly, looking up to find Dean talking to the bartender. Not unusual. Dean usually hit on women when they were at a bar. So he turned his attention back to Angie, still trying to figure her out. Callie frowned, biting her lower lip gently as she thought. "I'm... not sure," she admitted. "I mean, I've heard about the kids going missing here, and a few in the counties around here. But I haven't heard anything about this Freddy Kreuger person. Sorry." She shrugged. Then she paused as a thought occured to her. "Although, you might want to ask Angie. She knows a lot about stuff that's going on, and she might be able to help you. Probably knows more than I do, anyway." |
(I am back and alrighty)
"Okay so can I ask why you are just following them around?" she didn't think it was weird it was just he seemed like a little puppy following a master but not in a mean way. It was kind of cute, she did like the way he looked and wondered if he was covering up a different side of him or not. "Why would she know alot on this type of subject?" Dean asked and looked over at his brother pased out over a closed labtop, he apparently was very tired from doing nothing but research while the time the three men were there. Dean was the only one really having fun, Sam kept working, and Castiel seemed a bit not wanting to be there. |
((Wow, Mene just stopped working for like 20 minutes for me...))
Castiel considered the question as he took another shot, getting another ball in. "They are my friends," he said carefully, as if unsure he was using the correct word. He knew he couldn't tell just anyone about what they really did, about the hunting. And he did occasionally come help with hunts, just because he could. And even he needed some time away from Heaven once in a while. He'd gotten used to the humans. Callie shrugged. "Dunno. She does some research, and she just knows things like that. You should ask her more if you want to know." She shrugged again. "I'm just a bartender, honey." And she smiled at him again, the same self-depreciating smile, before she gently moved the laptop away from Sam and closed it, putting it next to him instead. Sam barely even moved. |
(really? Oh that makes me wonder if it will do the same over here, what time zone are you?)
"You don't seem to be having fun though" Angie stated plainly yet wondering what else to say, sometimes her mind wouldn't be busy but it would just seem to be something that would happen. It was like it would go blank but she would keep doing whatever as if instinct. "Someone seems to be out like a light, huh? And I'll have to ask her about that later before she leaves. Do you know any good hotels around here that arn't that expensive?" Dean asked once more but this time he looked over to see how Castiel and Angie were doing. |
((I'm on Pacific Coast time. I live in Cali so it's 12:30 here.))
Castiel frowned. "Dean says I have not yet grasped the concept of... 'fun'," he said slowly. "He often tells me that I have no sense of humor." Which wasn't exactly true. He had a sense of humor. Sort of. He was still learning about humans, was all. They could be very strange sometimes. "Yeah, there's one by my apartment. It's clean, and you can get a bed or two for pretty cheap." Callie eyed him and Sam, looking between the two of them. "I can give you directions, if you want." She didn't even wait. She just pulled out a napkin and started writing on it. |
(It is 2:44pm here, I'm GMT, central zone. So we're like an hour or two difference)
"Hm, interesting, but you probably know how to, just haven't found the best way to" Angiue stated as he won the game and she offered to put up the pool sticks. "That was a very interesting game I must say" Angie added smiling some. Dean nodded "Thanks that would be great, by the way whats your name in case we meet again?" Dean asked looking towards the pool table "So who won?" Dean asked as he watched Angie point to Castiel. |
((yeah, two hours difference. Not bad.))
Castiel tilted his head a little at her words but he didn't try to debate her. Instead he looked at Dean. "I believe I won," he said carefully, putting the pool stick back where it belonged. He looked at Angie again. The bar was slowly starting to empty, as people had to go home so they could sleep before work tomorrow, or left to go to somewhere that stayed open much later. Callie chuckled quietly. "I'm Callie," she said, smiling at him again and handing him the napkin. "Seems your friend is better than he thought." She was somewhat surprised Angie had lost, but it wasn't a big deal. |
