Magic the Gathering

Do you play?

If so what color or colors do you mostly play?

I play black. My main deck has 2 Sorin Markov and a Liliana Vess.

WinglessFairy 07-26-2011 07:42 AM

I play!
I'm a Blue/Black Faeries person myself

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 07-26-2011 01:15 PM

I attempted to make a deck like that... attempted and failed

~LONGCAT~ 07-26-2011 04:42 PM

I mostly play EDH format, and I tend to go with theme decks. Right now I have a Xira Arien insect deck that I love to use.

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 07-26-2011 04:45 PM

i dont really play with formats.unless its the rare time in im a tourny.

~LONGCAT~ 07-26-2011 04:51 PM

I just like the flow of the 100 card decks. I'm not very good but I can at least hold my own when there is only one of each card so the game comes down to more chance and how you play the cards.

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 07-26-2011 04:54 PM

my friend is making a 300 card deck . but i think my biggest deck is 130-150 cards

~LONGCAT~ 07-26-2011 04:58 PM

mine are either 60 card standard or the 100 card EDH. I don't deviate too much from that, other wise I never get land or cards I want.

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 07-26-2011 05:01 PM

thats why i mana shuffle and put in 3 extra lands.

KH4Life 08-08-2011 02:00 AM

I play red, and green. Also artiface, i just opened up 2 chandraa the firebrands today :DDDDDDD eeeeep

BondageDucky 08-08-2011 03:44 AM

I play a New Phyrexia deck that I've modded for my own use. Golem reproduction pump deck. >83 Green and White.

----------

My first deck was a White Leonin, Equipment, life gaining deck.

hurpdeedurp 08-09-2011 05:48 AM

I built a defender deck during the standard of Alara/Zendikar that went near undefeated at my local FNM. Like a boss.

Red is my favorite color, blue the least. What I'm playing depends on what cards I like in Standard, that being the only format I really play. Nowhere local to play extended, and I haven't been playing long enough for the eternal formats. Since Mirrodin (No, the first one. Affinity and the like.) EDH... ahem, Commander deck has been under construction for over a year now. And casual decks don't count because casual is casual, which is seemingly the only thing my schedule allows me to play these days.

Got a rough mono black infect, and tinkering with Myr Superion deck because lol Tarmogoyf. Mono Red and Timely Reinforcements both look too enticing to not get the deck building juices flowing. Johnny or bust.

TL;DR Magic geek in a Magic thread.

lightkanna 08-10-2011 08:00 PM

I don't play but I have heard of it. I've seen some matches online and it's really amazing but quite confusing if you don't know the rules. ^^;

Draciolus 08-10-2011 10:50 PM

I typically use my Elves, with a few artifacts(4x Coat of Arms, 2 Soul Foundry that I imprint Clone onto, 3x Riptide Replicator which becomes super evil...and my friends dont let me get out onto the field after a certain point). Those, with 4x Seedborn Muse, 4x Wellwisher, 4x Timberwatch Elves and a Beacon of Immortality make my Elves(which I can trample people with a 200+/200+ Forest) pretty hard to beat...unless you stop me from getting even one creature out. xD

My other three decks I use are: Mirrodin Block Artifacts...only cards from Mirrodin, Darksteel and Fith Dawn(I think thats the third one) are in that deck. I have a Zombie deck, like my Elves, except no Coat of Arms(yet) and keeps other peoples smaller monstors off the field(Noxious Ghoul). My last deck, which is still a work in progress(3 years running) is my Dragon Deck. Trying to get more Extraplanar Lens to help speed things up.

Oh, and all my decks are maximum 60 cards. My friends and I all agreed on nothing more than 60 when we played all the time in high school. Though, we havent played in years, and Im thinking most of them have sold their cards. -.-

Cat Eye 08-11-2011 01:10 AM

I used to play.

I hate Planeswalkers.

Essentially those who play the game are planeswalkers...and I can't always come when someone calls....so why should they be able to? Maybe they're busy fighting something else.

I play mostly white/blue....or SLIVERS! <3<3<3

Draciolus 08-11-2011 02:39 AM

Slivers? Really? Those are the biggest pain(next to a slide deck) against my elves.

I remember battling my friends slivers one time, I was dealing as much as he would gain, and I would gain as much as he would deal. So we were evenly matched....until I got Ambush Commander out(for the second time) and I swarmed him with EVERYTHING, even my Wellwishers, and all my Taunting Elves(had over 20 due to clones at that point).

hurpdeedurp 08-12-2011 03:18 AM

Coat of Arms is a house. My favorite is playing it alongside Mycoloth. Lulz ensue.

Draciolus 08-12-2011 05:58 AM

I find it funny when I talk to people that put over 20 land in a 60 card deck. I think the most in any of my decks(other than the Dragons) is 15. And thats in my artifact deck. 5 of each kind. I only say this because one of my co-workers and I were talking and he said he put 20+ land in any deck, even if its only a 60 card deck. Sure, you get more land. But you loose the ability to have just that many more creatures/spells to have as a contingency to whatever might happen.

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 08-12-2011 08:53 PM

I recently made a proliferate, infect, ally deck... Havent got to test it yet

hurpdeedurp 08-13-2011 04:07 AM

This is my two cents on land count as far as deck building goes. The amount of lands in the deck should reflect the curve of the converted mana cost of the spells in it. 15 lands in a deck means that statistically one out of every four cards drawn is going to be a land. If your deck has all low costing spells or alternate mana sources, then go for it. I just feel that dropping the land count too low sacrifices consistency in the deck. But then that's the beauty of the thing. Even the best player in the world is still subject to luck.

Also, xXMCRAngel2107Xx, proliferate/ally deck? What does it look like? I tried doing the same thing in blue and white, but I don't think I did it justice as the concept just seems too good compared to the outcome.

WinglessFairy 08-13-2011 06:16 AM

haha, yeah I had a hard time, but I finally worked it out to where all my cards are cost 3 or less, and stocked up with a lot of counter cards, so I can play a lot with a small amount of mana

xXMCRAngel2107Xx 08-13-2011 11:43 PM

hurpdeedurp: It's black and blue, with a Xenograft, all creatures i control are the creature that i name. so i have other creatures, vampires, artifact creatures, and its all counters. i think its pretty great.

perfect.imperfection 08-14-2011 05:11 AM

I play, with a blue and red deck. I'm pretty much a newbie, my friends have just introduced me to this game this year, so my skills are in the works right now. ^^ So if any of you have some advice or anything it would be much appreciated :)

Draciolus 08-14-2011 06:15 AM

I miss my Archbound deck. I used to use my Clone + Soul Foundry and Archbound Overseer. Though, somehow I lost that card, probably stolen at school one day. It turned into a fairly evil deck, and I miss it...I might end up remaking it sometime.

d2hiriyuu 08-16-2011 02:45 AM

I play, my current decks are vampire, and a EDH scion of the Ur dragon deck. I have also a snow/ draw deck (red blue), and then another 6-8 decks that I rarely play, but are built for using more of my dragons.
