But escalators are fun! I love walking up the down escalator ^.^

Mystic 08-14-2011 02:36 PM

I do that too. XD You have to admit though, it is a pretty lazy invention.

Ana_M 08-14-2011 11:00 PM

LOL I remember the abbelt, ohmygosh. XD I laughed at it when I saw it on TV! I don't mind the tattoos too much, stupid but hey it's a bod-mod so whatever. The Kindle... meh I have to agree with everyone else that they are not my thing, and actually yes some chicks do get "eye liner" tattooed. I've seen a few. I am unsure of how that all works out, so meh.

A lazy invention that I can think of is simple, E-MAIL. It saves time from going out to see this person, or maybe save time from writing a letter, and then also CELL PHONES/HOME PHONES. They're really useful, but seriously were just made and created for the unique purpose of saving time of instead going out to see them to instead talk to them over a wire. Before they became main-stream they were ridiculed. "An electronic that lets you talk to someone? Preposterous!" That sort of talk was said often before they became main stream in the 90's. Cameras too, a lot of the things that are useful now-a-days are lazy inventions.

A ridiculous invention that I have found out about recently is urinal goals, yeah they have a little goal in a urinal. What. The. Hell? LOL. Makes no sense ....

What's worse than escalators? Hmmm.... Moving sidewalks! I mean seriously? It's not like you're even going uphill! Escalators are good somewhere that there's no elevator and you have, I dunno, a broken leg and crutches. (Stairs and crutches are not friends!) Other than that, yeah, they're pointless.

lightkanna 08-14-2011 11:38 PM

Whenever I am in the mall, I some how take the stairs than the escalators, I just don't see them. But I barely go to the mall anyways, waste of time and there isn't anything to do. It's not much better than home and so I rather be home then at the mall.

What! Ana_M that is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. My dad doesn't even pee straight into the toilet, sometimes. Which is gross and I don't even feel like sitting down and peeing when I see it. But I highly doubt some guy wants to do that. I assume they wouldn't but I wouldn't know. Let's hope they don't. >>;
I use Email for my friend when I was out of internet, my laptop charger died, I connected with through Email. I think it's convenient at times.

I remember a commercial about cracking your egg, a thing would do it for you so you wouldn't have to feel gross and get dirty in the process. I think if you're too lazy to crack eggs, then you seriously need help. >>

> >..I wanted to try that shampoo thing mostly because
my school is 2 hours away from where I live and I have to
wake up at 4 : 30 am to get to my bus stop but not
every day just days when I'm running late.

I couldn't think of any, so I found this video.

...> o > irony.

Bearzy 08-15-2011 12:50 AM

Oh god. That fork! And the ice cream thing.... they're so pointless!

diave 08-15-2011 07:23 AM

Just so you all are aware, a lot of things that seem to be for laziness, including many that are mentioned in this thread, can actually be a huge help to people who have physical limitations.

Granted for the majority of people a certain thing might seem or even be unnecessary, but I do ask you not to assume that someone is lazy just because they are using that thing.

Ana_M 08-15-2011 11:30 AM

@diave
This is an innocent thread, we know there are people with not only mental but physical disabilities. We're not poking fun at anyone, and yes, we do remember and know that there are people in the world like that. We're not poking fun at people, we are poking fun at the inventions that people make! c: I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say that we've meant no harm, or offense by speaking about what we think is silly in this thread.

On another note, that vid is hilarious Elluh. XD Bravo for finding it!

diave 08-15-2011 12:26 PM

I don't feel that anyone has been offensive in this thread, and I think it's perfectly reasonable to talk about things that modern society has made common which we as a whole we really shouldn't need. What bothers me isn't the thread but some stuff I've seen happen in real life towards people who look like they are healthy but aren't, so I just wanted to poke my head in here and speak up in hopes of that type of thing not happening in the future. Like you said, I certainly didn't feel like anyone was making fun of anybody or anything like that. :)

Ana_M 08-16-2011 08:26 AM

Ah, mmkay. xD
Yeah, I used to have to help out and babysit a few kids who had physical and mental disabilities when I was younger. They're really sweet, just like anyone else.
Text, why are you so hard to decipher sometimes? >.< -shot-

diave 08-16-2011 11:37 AM

Aw no worries! I could have been a bit less confrontational-sounding with the way I opened my post and I hadn't made it clear that my reaction was less to the thread contents and more pre-emptive, so it's not like your reply came out of left field or anything.

Krissy 08-16-2011 12:47 PM

I actually would like a Kindle. Personally, I'm used to reading stories online. Books to me are good, but I'd prefer something that wasn't easily ruined by me bending the binding by mistake. >_<; So it's not really laziness, it's more personal preference.

I've used dry shampoo before - mainly because it's unhealthy for your hair to wash it everday. So if I go out, I'll use it. Granted, I'd still pick washing my hair with water and such everyday, despite the damage it does, but dry shampoo does have its uses.

As for the tattooed makeup... eh, most people do get them because they are lazy. However, my ex's mom got her eyebrows tattooed because she was going through chemotherapy and all of her hair, including her eyebrows, were falling off.. >__<

Truth be told, as the years progress, we all have some kind of technology or innovation that makes life easier for us. Some see it as lazy, others do not. That being said, I could easily say that people with cars are lazy for not biking, and that people who bike are lazy because they are not walking. xD

ElysiumFate 08-16-2011 08:58 PM

Just so I can make it a little more clear this--> hard candy eye makeup tattoos - YouTube is what I meant by eye makeup tattoos, but the regular tattoos are lazy as hell, too.

Himalia 08-19-2011 09:35 AM

Waterless shampoo would be handy for going camping or to music festivals or things, so that is am invention that I am quite glad for to be honest. :/

HIM_ROCK 08-19-2011 11:56 AM

Laziest things I've seen are 24 hour vinyl lip gloss, it's horrible you have to keep putting on the balm every couple of hours or it comes off in one big chunk.

Just add water pancakes in a bottle, it's not that hard to mix up pancake batter then you've got to wash out the bottle to chuck in the recyling.

And the electic can opener if you've only got one working arm fine but the way it was advertised was awful, I'm sure people can put something down for 30 seconds while using a can opener.

The press on eye-shadow is alright if it's the animal print ones.
