Seito 02-09-2013 07:46 AM

Haha no Seito didn't even get half of that. >> << >>

xuvrette 02-09-2013 07:49 AM

I failed my history and accounts test before.
*pets Seito*

Seito 02-09-2013 07:57 AM

Seito just needs to pass. Don't care about the letter grade

xuvrette 02-09-2013 08:30 AM

So you are passing? is that final exam?

Seito 02-09-2013 09:29 AM

No this was the first exam. Three more to go. So I have chance to pull it up. >> << >>

xuvrette 02-09-2013 11:50 AM

Does that exam include in the grading on whether you pass or not?

what? That kind of grading doesn't seem tp really help seeing the level...

They've done it a lot in regular school. The teachers can't have a ALL failing class, it would damage their teaching method. So, they have to curve the grading scale a bit to at least have more than a couple people passing the class with an acceptable grade.

It's their way of covering their asses when they don't teach right. > w > And they make up tests as they see fit and don't cover the review material that is actually on the test or apply questions that almost have nothing to do with the material you've done.

Or at least, that's been my experience.
And they have the nerve to treat you like you are crap when it was their fault to begin with.

Nephila 02-09-2013 02:40 PM

Arg that's so horrible they shouldn't be able to do that. Either people know their lessons or they don't. I'm glad I don't really have to deal with that part of life anymore. Yay being old. XD

dessertdesiert 02-09-2013 02:57 PM

Yes it's a fun system xD

xuvrette 02-09-2013 03:53 PM

Rubbish system. I am very strict with education.
I am kinda glad our school is dumb like that for not knowing how to cover their ass.
I had failed before, but I know I am weak and I strive to pass it. at least.

Aoi Kazuya 02-09-2013 04:19 PM

I've literally had teachers who passed me for absolutely no reason. I mean there was one time where we had a surprise test, and then at the end he told everyone to switch papers, we graded each other...then he told everyone to take a red pen and write a 100 on the top of whoever's paper we had.

I've had very strange teachers...haha. But i don't know we still managed to learn in that class somehow and get higher grades than the year ahead of us when we took the same test as them.

xuvrette 02-09-2013 04:29 PM

oh lol. That is fun!
XD
I never had those kind of strange teachers...

M i r o 02-09-2013 04:33 PM

Lolll we never got that. We did have to trade papers and grade each others but me and my friends would erase our bad answers and put the right answers in with pencil. Other times the teacher didn't bother wanting the papers back, so we'd just mark what we wanted wrong on someones paper and left other wrong answers alone.

School wasn't very... optimistic in my school. Everything about it was a piece of crap. Teachers were out in the open with favoritism and everything, so yeah. But if I graded someone I really didn't like's papers, I would mark all the wrong answers that are wrong. XD

But it was funny, when my class graduated there was only a couple of top students that had higher GPAs and grades. And when the Juniors below us graduated there was a handful of nerds (the real nerds, that are ugly as whoa) and they had 4.6 GPAs. And I was like... omg. I only know this because I went to Erikas brothers graduation since she asked me to.

xuvrette 02-09-2013 04:41 PM

Highschool already is GPA system? *faints*

M i r o 02-09-2013 04:52 PM

They've always had a GPA system and a "student ranking" which I thought was a bit rude. They make the grade reports all fancy with your student ranking, your number, your GPA, your grades, percentage, teachers names, course, and "All rights reserved" thing for the school. Or at least, mine did that.

xuvrette 02-09-2013 04:57 PM

We have ranking.
We do have booklet for report cards. XD
oh and our GPA is not those kind.
We add up all marks and divide by the subject we took.

M i r o 02-09-2013 04:58 PM

How do you do that? xD

We only got a piece of paper with a blue background and the "symbol" of the government.

xuvrette 02-09-2013 05:08 PM

That is what we call cert?
We only get them in our important exams which is.
Preliminary, Middle high and High school. A level.
But every year, we have 2 main exams, mid year and final. those need to report to parents too. XD so we have a booklet.

Aoi Kazuya 02-09-2013 06:03 PM

We did it on a 100 point system but since i wanted to know what my gpa was we figured out how to calculate it...apparently i graduated high school with a 2.8. whoops. I still got accepted into the college i applied to though, i guess it was just mostly because of the high school i graduated from :/

The teachers were either good teachers or bad teachers we didn't have anything in the middle. they all knew their subjects really well, but some of them just couldn't teach >.> but yea...I have so many high school and junior high school stories to tell, haha, it makes me feel nostalgic just thinking about it...i miss my high school friends ):

we got report cards every couple of months ^^ ...i think i "forgot" to give them to my parents a couple times, haha

xuvrette 02-09-2013 06:08 PM

Every mid year, there is this parents and teacher day.
Parents HAVE to come and collect the report booklet. while have the opportunity to speak to teacher.

Aoi Kazuya 02-09-2013 06:26 PM

we had parent teacher conferences, but after the first year my mom just didn't want to go. she didn't want to fo up and down the ten floors of my school, haha ^^;;

xuvrette 02-09-2013 06:33 PM

ten floors?! What is your school?

Aoi Kazuya 02-09-2013 06:47 PM

It was just a high school :) Where I live it was among the top three specialized high schools, I never really understood all the hype though

xuvrette 02-09-2013 06:47 PM

Just how HIGH is your school compound? O__O

Aoi Kazuya 02-09-2013 07:09 PM

ten floors, and i think there was a basement :D and there might have been an eleventh floor or those stairs that were gated might have just led to the roof :D
