Yeah it all chains together into a huge knot.

The Wandering Poet 07-30-2013 10:36 PM

Well for someone who runs into bugs and glitches like others do mosquitoes... I am prepared...

Seito 07-30-2013 10:37 PM

owo b that's a good comparison.

The Wandering Poet 07-30-2013 10:42 PM

owo b But yay! That sounds awesome.

This in a nut shell is my job. I write the test cases to test the software my employer builds. I then, as well as those who work underneath me, test the software using the test cases I wrote. But we also do ad-hock testing as well. Basically they hand me a pump and tell me to try and break the software. If I can then its broken and needs to be fixed, if I can't.....or anyone on my team can't....then we are good to go.

My boss lately though, and this is what I was talking about earlier. Its not officially part of my job but he wants me to learn it so he's been teaching me to read the code for like......8 months now. I'm finally to a point where he hands me the code when we find a problem and says......go fix it. If I can't, because I'm still rather new at it, I bring it back to him and he helps me figure it out. I'm getting better though. Its really quite fun.

The Wandering Poet 07-31-2013 12:24 AM

Sounds like you have an amazing boss

Cora 07-31-2013 01:23 AM

OMG yes. Dave is like the best boss you could ever dream of having. Like he really really knows his shit. Which is the first important thing in a boss, but he also wants to help those underneath him grow. He's also the kind of boss that you can hang out with outside of work. He's like an unofficial big brother to me and the three girls underneath me. There's also the fact that he has like no kids so he constantly like......randomly buys us lunches and things because he feels like it.

I was in the perfect place at the perfect time. I was lucky. I've worked for some monster bosses and places of employment where your employer treats you like slaves.....but not here. I LOVE my job. I sometimes pull 100 hour weeks.....but I don't care...because I'm having fun.

The Wandering Poet 07-31-2013 01:28 AM

Haha... adopted employees XD

So uhh... are they hiring? [ninja]

Cora 07-31-2013 01:38 AM

not last time I checked. They actually had massive lay offs recently.

Unfortunately its sort of a mess here at the moment. Our paperwork was a mess from when our previous owner was in charge. He just wanted shit done, he didn't care if it was done right. When we where bought by Baxter, a major medical supply company in case you don't know, a bright light was shone on us and the FDA saw all the cracks in our paperwork. Right now we are put under a stop ship until we get things back in order. We won the "Best in KLAS" award and have the best IV pump in the country three years in a row, so its not the product.....its the supporting documentation. Roger....point blank.....was an ass.

The Wandering Poet 07-31-2013 01:51 AM

Ah... well if you ever need a 3d modeler... [drool] I totally want to work for your boss

Seito 07-31-2013 02:39 AM

That doesn't really help. People probably remember your old name.

The Wandering Poet 08-01-2013 01:03 AM
