Board Games!

Which are your favorites!
I always liked playing Scooby Doo Clue :D
And I still have Pokemon Monopoly!
I used to have Pokemon Sorry too haha!

But I used to play Trouble and other games.
Apples to Apples is lots of fun too!

Vix Viral 08-18-2011 09:38 AM

I have Spider-Man Monopoly. The one based on the comics not the half assed movies.

My favorite board game is EASILY Betrayal at House on the Hill. It's so addicting. My friends and I played it for seven hour straight once. Ah, college.

Bearzy 08-18-2011 09:51 PM

Settlers of Catan! *does happy dance* It's so much fun... I even have a comic about it... hang on a sec.

I want Pokemon Monopoly! I just learned how to play the game and I currently own Mario Monopoly.
My cousin always beats me though. <w < We play with max characters. Enough teens in the family to all play together. <3

I am going to try and get myself RISK. My boyfriend and cousin play it and I am tempted to learn.

Bearzy 08-19-2011 01:16 AM

Risk is madness! It takes so long.. But admittedly, if you have the patience, it's a lot of fun.

Heartful_Song 08-20-2011 08:00 AM

Oooh whats risk????

luci_in_the_sky 08-20-2011 09:20 PM

I love Arkham Horror, Zombies, Monopoly, and lots of other games! :3

Bearzy 08-20-2011 10:58 PM

Risk is a game where you get an Army and you can only put a certain amount of troops on the board at once. You also get a few countries (it's played on a world map) and the aim is to conquer the world using dice rolls.

Himalia 09-01-2011 02:26 PM

I love board games! My favourite would probably be either Monopoly or The Game Of Life. I have The Simpson's version of both of these too, which makes it even more fun to play! xD

Lord Burandon 09-02-2011 11:15 PM

My favourite board game is and always will be LIFE. I've always tremendously enjoyed it. I used to play it all the time on my computer when I had the CD out of a cereal box for it, but always was the first one I went for when someone mentioned game night. LOVE IT! It's so cute! Haha.

takohako 09-03-2011 07:32 PM

I just won in a game of Ticket to Ride Europe, I played with my parents and I honestly didn't think I could win this time but I got lucky... I love this game even though I was only introduced to it last week...

Nonsensical 09-11-2011 01:47 AM

Monopoly. 8D No one I know can stand to play it (even though I wound up with 5+ versions) so I even downloaded it to my iPod. XD
I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A POKEMON ONE, THOUGH. I think that might just have to go on my Christmas List. -Googles-

ekf501 03-22-2012 02:00 AM

My sister and I play board games all the time now that we can stand playing with one another lol she finally has an attention span!
We love playing Pokemon Monopoly, Lord of the Rings Monopoly, Disney Princess Monopoly Jr. (she always beats me at this somehow), Pay Day and Clue. But as a family we love to play Apples to Apples.

Anaxilea 03-22-2012 04:21 PM

Oooh, I LOVE Risk. One of my good friends has the actual Pokemon board game, and we plan that a lot, too. And the Game of Life is always fun... I rule at life!

But my absolute favorite game, hands down, is Apples to Apples. A huge group of my highschool friends and I get together once or twice a year, and we always make a point to play it. By the end, we're all out of breath from laughing so hard.

Vox 04-01-2012 06:53 PM

I play Settlers of Catan, Dominion, Talisman, Cosmic Encounter, Twilight Imperium, Munchkin, and so many others.

I'm very partial to Scrabble as well.

I want to try several of the other games mentioned here, particularly Ticket to Ride and Arkham Horror.

HeartMoogle 04-01-2012 07:21 PM

My favorite board game is probably Scrabble. Either that, or Sorry! I also used to have the Goosebumps board game, and that was a lot of fun. As well as the Yu-Gi-Oh! board game, though I don't remember the name of that one.

I've owned a lot of random board games. I also love the Mega Man: Battle Network board game. XD

Is BINGO considered a board game? I'm never quite certain of that.

MeganeFox 04-01-2012 11:52 PM

Clue! Clue or Scrabble, actually. :V

I actually wish I could get that Batman monopoly. Then I'm pretty sure I'd play it all the time. o3o

StrangeMwarn 04-03-2012 02:10 AM

Monopoly...my favorite board game ever.
Eventually it comes to the point that you get so good that when you play with more than one person, other than yourself of course, it becomes a handicap match. I'm talking a 1 VS 4 situation.....that makes me sad.

Yaks 04-04-2012 12:37 AM

Have you guys watched the new show on the Geek and Sundry youtube TV channel? They have a bi-weekly 30 minute episode about new board games, where they play it in a poker-style match. It's going to be a pretty awesome way to find new board games and table top games! :D

Oh, and Settlers of Catan, of course. Haha. Life was also one of my favorites and there was another one I forget the name of that involved giant monsters. The goal was to attack the opposing forces monster with your own army or something. This is going to drive me crazy..

StrangeMwarn 04-04-2012 01:52 AM

@Yaks Was it heroscape?? That sounds pretty similar to it.
If not...you should still look up heroscape. No one will hardly play it with me anymore because it's too "Complicated".
I don't find it complicated at all...it's rather sexy really.

Yaks 04-04-2012 02:06 AM

No, it wasn't as complicated as Heroscape, not by a long shot haha. It was extremely simple and featured different colored Japanese giant monster inspired pieces! I wish I could find it and remember what it was. I think it's still at my parent's house. I bought it at a garage sale and used to play it now and then at the comic book shop I worked at.

StrangeMwarn 04-04-2012 04:56 AM

Oh,...lol.
...i still wanna play heroscape and no one wants to play with me lol

Paranoid Doll 04-04-2012 08:09 PM

right now, my favorite board games are apples to apples
and the game of things... bit neither of those are really
board games and such.... but they're both boxed games?
which is what i think you're getting at too, right~?? o u o

the game of things is super fun because everyone can
let loose~ it's an anonymous game where everyone writes
their answer to a question card on a little slip of paper
and the judge of that round chooses whose the funniest
was and they win a point~ everyone else's is anonymous
except for the one who won~ one time when i played,
all i did was write things that had to do with obama,
jesus, and tuna casserole. what do the three have in
common? i have no idea~

but as for pokemon monopoly, i loved playing that as a child~

Codette 04-04-2012 08:38 PM

Oh god! I love Settlers of Catan, Apples to Apples and Descent. I play them all the time with my boys ^.^

We also play Red Dragon Inn, 1313 Dead End Drive, Risk, Clans, The Game of Life - I enforced this one to be in the list ^.^ - Munchkin, Arkham Horror, Killer Bunnies, and a few others I don't remember the names of.

Usually about once a month we'll get a group together for drinks and board games. A lot of these games are even more fun when your drunk *laughs*

Vox 04-04-2012 11:09 PM

Yaks: I have seen that show! I watched part of the episode on Small World but quit when I got too excited and had to look it up on boardgamegeek.com.

Last night I was looking at a game called Cards Against Humanity. It's exactly like Apples to Apples but with more adult humor. For example, a card might say "In a pinch _ can be a reasonable substitute for _" and I would place down two cards so that it read, "In a pinch the Special Olympics can be a reasonable substitute for the Republican Presidential Debate." I'm not big on party games normally, but this one looked pretty fun.

Codette: My friends and I were going to pool together money to get Descent because it looks awesome, but we ended up getting Twilight Imperium instead, which I now regret because Imperium is basically Risk in space with a fuckton more pieces. -_- So I've never played Descent, but I have started to develop a version of Cosmic Encounter that uses a similar "Overlord" format. It's really broken right now though...
