Algas Soleado 09-30-2011 09:57 PM

Hello everybody!! :D I'm eating gambas strudels which is shrimp and varselli over tomato basil sauce all wrapped up in phyllo dough. Yummm (I typed like nine M's but then realized I was being a letter glutton. I don't mind being a tapas glutton though!!)

hummy 10-01-2011 12:47 AM

hummy 10-01-2011 11:16 AM

happy saturday!
happy double bonus goldie day!!!!!

FireOnix 10-02-2011 12:48 AM

Ive been a practicing vegetarian since July and though it hasnt been to hard to find things to eat in restaurants and of course making things at home. I guess it never occurred to me before that not every place you go is veggie friendly. I spent the better part of today at an art festival they made all kinds of meat dishes hotdogs, burgers, beef sandwiches, pepperoni pizza, donuts or sausage. my only options were french fries, ice cream, popcorn or mozzarella sticks though I do like all those none of it is really healthy.

Has anyone else ever had that problem? What did you do about it or was there nothing you could really do about it?

hummy 10-02-2011 03:41 AM

i usually get the grilled corn and grilled *baked in the coals* sweet potatoes.
and it would be nice if they did salads already packaged, uyou know?

FireOnix 10-02-2011 07:53 PM

if they offered anything like that I would have gotten it. Salads would be nice but Im not sure they would hold up all that well. theyd probably require refrigeration which can be expensive and raise the price. It would be nice if they came up with some healthier choices of some kind

hummy 10-14-2011 09:45 PM

hope real life is still going well for you Algas sweetie.
:poke:
don't forget about the halloween event please.

Algas Soleado 10-14-2011 10:06 PM

Ahh.. What Halloween event? :/

hummy 10-14-2011 10:18 PM

there is a halloween event happing the week of halloween.
i am not sure what day but Jelly said i would be going on the double bonus goldie day as well.
so at least the thirty-first of october and the first of november.

Algas Soleado 10-15-2011 03:16 AM

Awesome!! :D I'll have to make a halloween themed veggie thread just for the event. Any ideas for the name?

FireOnix 10-15-2011 04:24 AM

thats awesome hummy

hummy 10-15-2011 11:39 AM

hmmm, not off the top of my head Allie but i will give it some thought.
do you have any ideas Fire?
hope to see you both around during the event.

FireOnix 10-15-2011 06:54 PM

Im not really sure but Ill try to be there. I didnt know there was going to be an event.

This thread has gotten really quiet

Algas Soleado 10-16-2011 12:10 AM

It has and it makes me sad! But then again, sometimes when I check the thread, if I'm not feeling creative enough to respond to someone, I usually forget to. :/

On another note!! I just had PeiWei Thai Dynamite with tofu! :D

FireOnix 10-16-2011 01:19 AM

hmmm never heard of that. what is it?

I attempted fried veggies and veggie patties with rice. I only had baby carrots and crape tomatoes. I cut the carrots in quarters and added the tomatoes and a packet of Chinese fried veggie seasoning. I cut the patties into mouth sized pieces. It wasnt that bad. Im still trying to find other veggie meat substitute.

Algas Soleado 10-16-2011 02:40 AM

PeiWei is a restaurant chain with great food. :) Thai dynamite is like "Sriracha chile sauce, soy, fresh lime, scallions, red bell peppers, carrots, Thai basil"
It's very tasty. :)

Cherry Who? 10-16-2011 06:19 PM

Fire, zuchinni is really good for veggie filler. :) Beans are a good meat substitute, too.

FireOnix 10-17-2011 02:04 AM

yea Ive heard of black bean burgers before but actually finding it in stores near where I live is hard. Im to lazy/busy to make a lot of the stuff from scratch I just opened my own business last monday. getting everything ready has taken about 6 months...

Cherry Who? 10-17-2011 04:29 AM

I meant more along the lines of tossing a can of beans into various things. Congratulations on the business, though!
