Haha, and some of them are grown men and women with the mentality of a bratty kid. Some guy who claimed he was 22 years old tried to (with a lame method) scam me my Coco Kitty plushie. And when I pointed out the obviousness of his attempted scam, he posted a string of cuss words and promptly disappeared out the Fishing game we were in. :roll: |

It's pretty funny sometimes, with just how lame some of those scamming attempts were. I'm more annoyed by the people's attitudes there than anything. Although I suspect the general atmosphere had something to do with it...there're so many items, and everyone's constantly talking about questing, trying to get the items, and trying to get others to give/help them with getting the items. Items items items, it's pretty much all it's about, and not about chatting and making friends anymore. |
The only forums I ever went in while on that site were the Art forums....and you wouldn't believe the amount of PMs I would get begging for free art. When I would turn them down they would turn around and cuss at me and get pissed at me. I eventually put a warning on my profile that if they did that I would just ignore any requests and so that's what I ended up doing....I wouldn't even tell them "no" just wouldn't say anything at all. No one does that to me here for which I am grateful!

An event-based CI is something that we wonder about, but we really have no idea if it would achieve anything for us financially. What most people would do would be spend the same amount as usual, but spread it over the three items instead of the usual two, you see. A minority might have the available funds to spend a bit extra, but not many. We might make a few hundred dollars extra, but nowhere near enough to even start covering the cost of a proper event.
Then we'd have created the issue of that month's CIs plus the special event one being rarer than they would have been otherwise, so they'd cost more in the MP, which would generate a whole heap of complaining and discontent :sweat: This is the kind of thought process we go through every time we consider another avenue for generating revenue :headdesk: |
I always thought the idea of haveing an item before the event specifically with the intent of being up only until enough revenue for an event was made was a good idea.....but then it would take away from the current site funds still.

It's a great idea in theory, but we just don't have enough donating people to make it a feasible reality. It would take months for one item to generate enough funds to pay for an event, and there's a good chance that it never would because demand for it would drop before the target amount was reached.

Yeah, I thought of that as well. Shortly after that post. What we really need is more donating users.....plain and simple. Just not that easy.

I look at it this way; just because we do not get an event on schedule, we're still bound to get it eventually. A late event is still a welcomed event. :3 |
would they do the Celes Paradis event in another month besides september? i figured they would hold off until next year. i agree any event, even late is a welecomed event. |
Well, Jelly did say that it will happen. Whether or not it's within this year or next, I'm not too sure. |
It'll probably be next year. The likelihood of getting an event between Halloween and Christmas is very low.

It might be around June next year? I can't think of any other events that could be around then.

Well, I wasn't talking year as in between 2011-2012. I was saying that it could be within a year. =P Meaning that what Jelly said, we might not have to wait till next September for the Celes Paradi. |
