"Uh not telling" if he told her then it would be odd, maybe even awkward. Sure he read the rules book about prefects almost all the way through, but, what would she think if he got caught with Romeo and Juliet? Now that was a real mystery there even though he wasn't much of a fan of mysteries himself.

"You 'kay...Hermione?" he asked, he remembered in the library that he was called by his first name and not his last which actually made him smile back then at the thought and even know thinking of it, it had made him smile. Just enough respect to use their first name, it was actually very nice and relaxing.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-19-2011 04:51 AM

Somehow, Draco's smile had a power over Hermione. She really enjoyed seeing it. Not wanted to ask any further, she held her tongue. She couldn't help but smile back. He was actually calling her by her first name and not by her last name. Very un-Slytherin-like. But nonetheless, she excepted that fact with opened arms. She shrugged. "I'm perfectly fine, why?" she asked, curious as to what he was implying to.

Kia_ 08-19-2011 04:54 AM

"When thunder crashed, you sure seemed scared" now he was just teasing her for fun, he wasn't able to do tease other slytherin girls like this because the hated it, and other houses knew exactly how he could be around girls so no one really cared. Draco chuckled a little bit as thunder and lighting came together crashing and lighting up the sky as Draco didn't expect it dropping the book on accident. 'Shit that scared me' he wasn't even paying attention to if Hermione saw or not.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-19-2011 09:01 PM

Hermione rolled her eyes and giggled, playfully pushing Draco away slightly. "Loud noises scare me is all. Perfectly normal," she said. She jumped when the next thrash of lightening sounded. When her eyes darted to the fallen leather-bound book on the floor, she jumped for it, wrapped her hands around it as she picked it up and studied it. She opened up the book. Hermione didn't even need to read the title. She knew which book it was just by the opening scene. She smirked and handed Draco the book. "Aren't you a little too young to read such independent poetry?" asked Hermione, a smirk still smacked on her lips.

"Reading about the theme for our Yule Ball, I hope," she said as she continued walking.

It finally occurred to here. From here on in, people are supposed to start asking ones to the Yule Ball with them. Hermione hated this every year. Every year, she was stuck going by herself. Every year, she was let down. But nonetheless, she's a Prefect and one of the ones in charge of the Yule Ball. She'll have to go regardless.

Kia_ 08-19-2011 11:08 PM

Draco's face became flushed as he quickly snatched the book from her hands "Shut up" he stated quickly until he heard her saying something about reading for the theme, he already knew the play by heart but re-reading it was just fun in his opinion.

"This happens to be one of my favorite" he scowled keeping the book tightly in his hands. He didn't realize he would have to ask anyone but he did say to Hermione "And so what if I like to read, of all people I thought you would've understood that much" Draco never was the one to be teased before and this time he took it a bit too much to heart.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-20-2011 07:15 AM

Hermione laughed at Draco's frustration. "Not to seem rude, Draco, but from what I've seen...a Slytherin boy...let alone a Malfoy...has never been known to read," she said as she stopped in her track and moved over to face Draco, slowly walking backwards with a guilty smile. "For all I know, I would've thought you a care-free Slytherin who could care less about reading, let alone do homework."

She turned around and picked up her pace, walking far ahead of Draco to head down the swirling stairs to the first floor. The rule book never stated that they had to stay on one floor. And although she knew Diggory and Cho were patrolling on the other side of the castle, Hermione thought it'd be wise to patrol every inch possible for a student to be walking upon. It was, after all, Friday.

Kia_ 08-20-2011 07:31 PM

Draco was going to say that doing homework was more of not getting himself in trouble with his father. If his father found out he didn't do his homework or got bad grades, anything less than perfect then he would have to listen to that and deal with it. Which was something that he did not want to do at all.

Draco saw her walk ahead and went down another way, he figured he would patrol anywhere that he wasn't. Gives him his space, reading time, and not only that. but, it would take less time to check the grounds. He wasn't sure really on how long they had to patrol, if it was an all night thing, then he didn't want to be a prefect at all.

When the clocks had struck twelve and it was obvious that everyone was in their common rooms, Hermione headed back to the Prefect's common room. She had been all the way down by the Great Hall. She waited patiently on the moving staircases and when she finally came to the Prefect's hall, she found her common room and entered it. Fall here at Hogwarts was becoming more and more colder. She hurried over to the fireplace and tightened her class robe around her putting her free hand out to feel the warmth radiating from the fireplace. She sat down at the foot of the couch with her knees up and hugged to her chest as she watched the flames dance in the fireplace.

Draco wasn't back yet, so she figured she'd wait for him to return before she would head off to bed. To Hermione's surprise, she was nowhere near sleepy or tired. She sighed and dragged the neatly folded silver and golden blanked from the couch's back and wrapped it around her for the extra warmth. Winter was almost here already and she could hardly believe it. Her sixth year was going by so fast. Maybe it was because she was a Prefect now.

Kia_ 08-21-2011 12:19 AM

(sorry late reply, stupid net dont like me)

Draco being a prefect and not reading the whole manual didn't know when to go back even when the clock struck twelve indicating that it was midnight. Of course about half an hour later he figured he would just give up and go back to the Prefects room. Problem was, he didn't know where the bloody hell he was. Looking around for any ways to go, he noticed there was three.

Trying one of the ways he realized he found the basement, which lead to the dungeon and yet to Filch or Mrs. Norris. Walking back the way he came, he went down the second path which led to Fluffy the three headed dog. Not even bothering to open any doors since he didn't come through any doors, he moved back towards the other ways and some how wound up in the astronomy tower.

"Oh this is just perfect" he wound up in the tower, near the three headed dog, and even the dungeon but his mind couldn't process the way back. He was starting to get cold himself, he sat down for a little while not realizing he had fallen asleep for over an hour, it was now past 2 in the morning. Shivering and looking paler than normal he tried to stand 'Damnit, I fell asleep here' he stated in his mind.

He moved down the hallway and luckily to the prefect common room saying the password and going inside. He didn't know if Hermione was going to be up or not, however, he didn't really care. Was the fire place still going? He didn't know, what time was it? he didn't carry a watch, and yet these thoughts didn't occur to him.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 12:24 AM

(It's fine! :))

Hermione jumped when the door to the Prefect's Common room opened. When she saw Draco, she took one good look at him. His skin was paler than it usually is, he had his arms wrapped around himself, and he look well-exhausted. "Oh my goodnight," she murmured as she got to her feet, unwrapped the blanket from around her and wrapping it around Draco.

"Draco, come to the fire," she said as she put her hand on his hand. "Bloody hell, you're freezing!" she exclaimed with pure concern as she gently grabbed his arms and led him over to the fire. There, she forced him to sit down. She tightened the blanket around Draco and finally sat back down beside him. "Where were you!?"

Kia_ 08-21-2011 03:24 AM

(fixed problems lol and drew more neopets--Btw what did you think of Draco returning like that?)

Draco really didn't notice Hermione until she was near him, he was shivering and cold as he was trying hard to stop his teeth from chattering. Being led over to the fire, being forced to sit down, and listened to what she was saying. He was trying to talk, however right now he just wanted to get warmed up first. "Ou-ou-outsi-si-side" he managed to get out keeping his knees were kept close to him and he put his head down even though his knees were cold and it wasn't very much help.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 03:29 AM

(I love neopets!!! And I thought it was good. A very good twist. :))

Hermione sighed. "Did you get lost?" she asked. Not waiting for him to answer, she forced him up to his feet. "C'mon. You need to get a nice warm bath. It'll be the only closest thing right now to keep you from catching anything," Hermione said as she hurried into her room to grab a towel and such, hurrying back out.

She kept the blanket wrapped around Draco as she also had an arm tightly wrapped around him for any extra heat possible as they walked down the hallway to the Prefect's bathroom.

Kia_ 08-21-2011 03:35 AM

(well if you ever visit the freebie section I have a request thread open, that and I do neopets, petpets, faeries/items, and pokemon)

Draco didn't argue, though it did take him a moment to stand up, let alone move. His body wanted to lock up on him, to freeze him in place so that he couldn't move, he was asleep outside for about an hour or so in his school uniform without his Slytherin robe he normally didn't wear unless it was time to go outside. Though he wasn't expecting to go outside let alone fall asleep out there freezing almost to death. Being led to the bathroom and not thinking clearly, he could only imagine how nice Hermione was being at the moment.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 03:39 AM

(Cool! :))

Hermione pushed through the doors to the Prefect's bathroom. She hurried over to the bath/pool and immediately turned on the faucet. Steaming colored bubbly water began to fill up the pool. No one else was in the bathroom except just Hermione and Draco. The air was soon filled with a clean-soapy scent along with heated air. Hermione finally found it best to take the blanket from Draco. "I know how you don't trust the the school supplies, so I took the liberty in bringing a towel and some soap for you to use," said Hermione as she pointed to the neat pile by the pool's edge.

"Can you undress or do I have to just dump you in the water?" asked Hermione, trying to lighten up the moment as best as possible.

Kia_ 08-21-2011 03:56 AM

(Wow that does sound like Hermione "Can you undress or do I have to just dump you in the water?" lol that part)

As soon as the water was ready, Draco heard what Hermione had said taking note in it and undressing as he felt the warmth in the bathroom. He kept his boxers on, there was no way he was going to be freezing and in the nude in front of Hermione.

Draco moved towards the giant bathtub and slipped in easily, even his shoulders were underneath as he closed his eyes and hoped he wouldn't get sick from freezing weather to warm bath water. Sometimes people could get sick or hurt if they switched temperatures too quickly. Draco mumbled something unsure if Hermione could hear or not.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 04:36 AM

(Haha really?)

Hermione quickly turned away as Draco undressed. Her cheeks turned bright red at the site of sculpted abs. When she heard him slip in the water, she found it safe enough to turn around. Sat at the edge, just dangling her feet in the water being that they were so cold. When she heard a mumble, she pushed her eyebrows together and leaned over to Draco slightly. "What was that?" she asked, curious as ever.

"Now...feeling better?"

Kia_ 08-21-2011 04:47 AM

(yea lol I can totally see her saying that and I think its time for a bit of an awkward moment lol or maybe a funny one)

When Hermione asked Draco what he had said he replied "Thanks" while letting the water warm him up, eventually he shook his head no, meaning he wasn't feeling any better until about 15 minutes passed and without warning he pulled Hermione into the bath with him grinning. Hey, what can ya say he is a Slytherin.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 05:07 AM

Hermione's mouth dropped open, shocked that Draco was actually thanking her. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth, letting out a shocked chuckle. She was speechless. But when she felt Draco grab onto her and drag her into the water, she surfaced the bubbly water and splashed Draco in the face, laughing. "You jerk!" she said as she swam to the edge of the pool and sat down where a ridge sat underwater for ones to sit on. "Great. Now I'm going to be soaked walking back to the common room! Haha!" she hadn't had this much fun for what seemed forever.

She just looked at Draco, unable to stop smiling. Maybe this Gryffindor girl and this Slytherin boy could be friends after all. She was beginning to see his playful, friendly side and was beginning to forget that she ever hated him. But after all, Gryffindors and Slytherins were supposed to loath each other. So why wasn't Hermione feeling that hate anymore? She wished she could talk straight to Draco about this, but she somehow knew he'd turn on her and turn away.

Kia_ 08-21-2011 05:34 AM

Draco watched her reactions, it was interesting to see her laugh, it kind of felt good. 'What was it about her I didn't like?' he thought to himself and then floated there but chose to get out, if he stayed in any much longer he would've made himself feel sick. Luckily tomorrow was Saturday, maybe he could get a bit more of sleep there. "I really did mean it when I said thanks, I would've just lied on the couch probably until I eventually warmed up." Draco stated climbing out of the pool and drying off, he thought of putting his clothes on again but looked for his wand, it was in his sleeve so luckily he still had it with him. He said a spell to dry his clothes and hers at once so they wouldn't be caught soaken wet and have to explain it to anyone. Well that is until Severus Snape, the potions teacher, and god father to Draco had appeared standing in the door way. Draco looked up and his expression showed what he was thinking 'Oh hell'

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 05:54 AM

Hermione was laughing and giggling non-stop right up until Snape stood in the doorway. Her eyes widened and she straightened up, try to maker herself look presentable towards Snape. Afraid to be called anything close to "an insufferable know-it-all", she kept her mouth shut and eyed Draco, wanting him to say something.

"What...is this?" asked Snape in a dangerous tone.

Hermione was suddenly so frightened, she looked down at her bare feet. her shoes were over by the door.

Kia_ 08-21-2011 06:01 AM

"Its nothing" Draco stated firmly, his expression more relaxed and calm now. "Nothing? This hardly looks like nothing Draco" Snape scolded, "We went for our weekend rounds, went seperate ways, I got lost and wound up falling asleep outside, you know how cold it is, I came back freezing and she set everything up for me so I could warm up" Draco had used a spell at that time to dress himself rather quickly. "And thats it?" snape raised a brow, expecting this to be a joke, a Malfoy and a Granger getting along? Just as he was going to say it was nothing more than a childs tale aka a lie. Draco sneezed loudly as it echoed a bit off the walls of the large prefect bathroom. He shuddered, probably had caught a cold. "Miss Granger, go back and get some rest. Draco I want to speak to you alone" he confirmed that it was the truth since Draco sneezed.

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-21-2011 06:11 PM

Without a word, Hermione looked over and glanced at Draco for a brief moment. She hurried past Snape with her head down as she power-walked down the hall to the Gryffindor/Slytherin common room. She sighed and walked into her room, closing the door slowly behind her. She lit her candles and quickly slipped out of her school clothes and into her pajamas, putting her wet tangled hair up into a messy bun. She wondered just how much trouble Draco was in. She hoped she didn't do anything wrong. If anything, she was sure Snape would take points away from Gryffindor. She knew he would never take points away from his own house.

She sighed and opened her closet. To the far left sat her new rosy pink dress she had bought for the Yule Ball this school year. She somehow felt beautiful whenever she wore pink. She felt the fabric's softness and smile slightly. Date or not, she would go and have fun. The Yule Ball was in the two weeks. There will be plenty of chances and opportunities. She'll just have to be wise with choosing what will happen.

Kia_ 08-21-2011 10:27 PM

Draco sighed as he walked over towars Snape "What do you want professor?" he added the last bit just making it sound unwelcoming. "Dont give me that attitude, something is happening between you two and let me remind you, you are a Malfoy, a pureblood, she is a know it all mud blood" "And?" "If your father found out you were taking to a mud blood what would he think?" Draco looked down almost ashamed, Snape was right, he shouldn't have done that, he should've kept up with his normal lifestyle, this wasn't going to go well.

"Now go back, get some rest, if you must interact with her then do so, but no more than you have to" Snape scolded as Draco walked away towards the prefect room saying the password and going into his room changing clothes. Once he was in his pajamas he laid down to sleep but stayed awake for an hour or so until he fell asleep. The next morning came...

~{MagikRiter}~ 08-22-2011 03:23 AM

Hermione didn't know why, but when she woke up this morning, she felt the need to do something more with her looks today. She straightened her hair and put in a small black bow, adding a light layer of shimmery golden eye shadow as she picked out her white blouse, vest, robes, skirt, and stockings, soon slipping her feet in her black ballet flats. She grabbed the books she would need today and headed out into the common room, ready to head down to lunch. The change in her hair and the fact that she was wearing a smudge of makeup made her, somehow, feel somewhat beautiful.

Kia_ 08-22-2011 03:40 AM

Draco was already at breakfast talking away to his friends about how stupid Potter was for not befriending him and how he chooses to go against the one person that could keep him alive. "Yea can you believe him? I heard that his father constantly joined up with Sirius Black as they were friends to pick on others because there was nothing better to do" one of the Slytherin' spoke as another shook her head saying

"Forget Potter, we all know about him, want to know what I found out about the know-it-all?" talking about Hermione of course. "Oh? Is there something I don't know?" Draco asked looking a bit curious and wanting to know "Yes, we already know that she is a mud-blood, we know she is a know it all, and we all know how that Weasly feels about her, but..." her voice became a whisper as Draco raised an eye brow slightly listening.
