Alex raised an eyebrow at what Simon said but trusted him on the matter. Holding the door open, he let everyone else go in first before heading inside himself, noticing that the door locked by itself once he was inside. 'Interesting' he thought to himself as he looked around the safe house, surprised at the fact of what Simon said. Seeing Carly laying down on the couch, he moved towards her, hoping that Rikku could help.

Carly was feeling very weak. She was feeling very afraid.

Alex let Rikku and the others out of their Bishiballs, telling Jean and the others to scout out the place and so that they know the ins and outs of the area in case they needed a quick escape, a good ambush point or something else that they could think of. In truth, he was sending them out to do something so that Rikku could work. He also wanted Nita to stay here in case her healing spells, while not as effective since it wasn't her specialty, would be welcomed all the same.

"Not you two. Juanita, I need you to stay here in case your healing spells are needed and Neggi, E haat oui du ica Esuna uh Carly," Alex said, using Nita's full name and Al Bhed to show both that he was extremely serious. Rikku nodded solemnly as she prepared her Esuna spell while Nita got some supplies out of her Dimension Pocket.

(Al bhed translation: Rikku, I need you to use Esuna on Carly)

Carly laid still, hoping she was alright. She didn't want anything bad to happen.

Eve was worried that Carly had been poisoned by one of the fighters.

Taylor had never seen Alex so focused or serious like this before and if he had to admit it, it kinda scared him. He had also let Sora out of his bishiball and requested for him to stay nearby in case his healing spells were needed.

Rikku finished the Esuna spell before cursing in her native language after seeing no effective change in Carly. Alex raised an eyebrow but was ignored as Rikku used Scan to tell her what exactly was wrong with the trainer's body. Cursing again, Rikku explained what she thought was going on: a poison that couldn't be cured by her Esuna spell.

" How did she get poisoned?" Max asked, though she might have an idea. She had seen Carly slashed, but hadn't seen any blood.

"I sensed a wound on her right ankle when I scanned her but other than that, there's nothing," Rikku said.

Carly nodded, but felt too tired to speak. She was feeling afraid that something bad was going to happen to her.

"Could putting more power into the spell or using different healing spells at the same time work?" Jean asked as she fingered the Blue Dragon brooch that she had in her possession, knowing that it could grant her the spell of Blue Dragon Healing, one of the most powerful healing spells that she knew.

"Unfortunately, no. It seems like this poison can only be fixed with a specific antidote, no doubt the person who slashed Carly with it has it," Rikku responded, hating this feeling of helplessness.

" It has to be one of those scientists. We have to find that guy to help Carly." Max said, feeling desperate.

Alex nodded. "The question is how to find him?" He asked before looking to Eve. "You have any ideas Eve? The only one I have is using myself as bait to make him show himself," Alex said.

" You could use me as bait. I think I might know the guy. He was a researcher before he was transfered to the fighting force. " She said hoping it was the same guy.

"Are you sure?" Alex asked, wanting to make sure that Eve knew what she was getting into.

" I'm sure. I doubt they are interested in me. I have a way that they won't be able to escape until Carly is healed. " She said.

"Which is what, exactly?" both Zero and Leglius asked bluntly. Their respective training in military causing them to not trust her completely, at least not yet. Alex sighed lightly, knowing why they asked.

" I have a friend who is willing to help us out. She has a Bishie that can create barriers that will trap the scientists until they help us. I know it's far fetched, but it's the only way I know of getting Carly well. " Eve said.

Zero nodded after hearing the plan, but would wait to see it in real action. He hoped that whoever this friend of Eve's was was willing to help.

" I need to contact her and will let you know her response. " Eve said and messaged her friend Gina.

Alex nodded before looking back towards the couch and seeing Carly resting lightly while Max hovered nearby. Placing a hand on her shoulder he reassured her that things would get better.

Max nodded. She hated seeing those she cared about injured and not being able to do anything about it.

Taylor wished he could help, hating the fact that they couldn't do anything to help heal Carly.

" Gina's willing to help us. She said to meet her tomorrow at a warehouse close to this location. " Eve said after she got off the phone.

Max was glad to hear the news and sighed softly before a small smile broke out on her face. She was glad to hear at least some good news.

Simon was glad too. He thought he knew this Gina, but wasn't really sure if he did or not.

"If you don't mind, can I come with you?" Alex asked. He wanted to meet Gina firsthand so that he could get a feel for Eve's friend.
