" Just follow me." Elisa said as they walked down the street. She saw the gym as they walked and wondered when she would have the chance to register as a trainer.

Alex nodded as he followed Elisa down the road. Glancing up at the gym, he wondered what adventures this town would hold or if, for once, they could just do what they wanted to do and then head out from there.

Mary Tracy was looking out the window of the gym. Something wasn't right but she didn't know what it could be. Her husband had said she was just imagining things but Mary knew something was going to change, and it made her feel uneasy.

"Warmth!" Yugito shouted happily, resisting the urge to purr. Her antics, nevertheless, had caused Alex to chuckle. "Better Neko-chan?" he asked, getting the cat-girl to nod.

"Welcome! Elisa ! It's been so long!" A woman said when she came out of a room. " I'm Lynnette Hayward. Jennifer said you all were coming so I got rooms ready for you." She said and saw two girls that looked similar to her friend Mary but didn't think any thing of it.

"Lynn!" Elisa said with a smile, glad to see one of her childhood friends after so long. "It's good to see you again. You've really grown," she said with a smile.

" You too Lisa! I knew you would come visit me here!" Lynn said. It had been a very long time since she had seen her best friend.

Taylor watched the scene silently, somewhat surprised that Elisa knew the Innkeeper here. He was glad though to see that she was happy chatting with Lynn.

"You did?" Elisa asked.

" I did. And this must be the famous Alex and his friends. We've heard stories from gym leaders in other towns. " Lynn said. She had been concerned that the local gym leader was up to something and that his wife was in danger.

Alex blushed lightly from the praise that Lynnette was giving him. "It wasn't much..." he said lightly.

" You all must be hungry. Food will be ready soon. " Lynn said. She was looking forward to spending time with Elisa and her friends. " So, what brings you all here?" She asked.

"We're here to find my mother," Carly said though she didn't tell Lynnette anything else. It wasn't that she didn't trust Lynn, it was just that Carly thought she didn't need to know.

" Oh." Lynn said. " Is there anything I can do to help you? I know quite a few people here and they might know something." She said after a little while.

"Any help would be great actually...Deanna doesn't remember her much, if at all, and I only have a few photos and memories of her," Carly responded.

" Photos will help. How long has your mom been missing?" Lynn asked, knowing that information would help. She knew a bit about looking for missing persons, since her dad had been missing for some time.

"I was six when she vanished, Dea was three at the time," Carly replied as she went through her bag for the photos. It was one of the few possessions that she would do anything for if they were taken from her. A few seconds later, she took out one of the pictures she had of her mother. "Please...be very careful of it," she requested.

Lynn carefully took it and looked closely." She looks like my mom's friend Mary. I have a recent photo that we can use to compare." She said and wondered who Mary really was.

"Mary?" Deanna asked.

" She's the local gym trainer's wife. I'll be right back with a picture. " Lynn said and hurried to her office. " Here it is she said and put it on the table.

Salem looked at the two pictures and nodded lightly, having a fear that what he thought previously was true; somehow this "Mary" person was a persona that took over Carly and Deanna's real mother.

" It looks like her , but her name was Renee. " Carly said fearing the worst had happened to her mom.

"That name doesn't ring any bells..." Lynnette said as she thought for a few seconds.

" Carly , I think Mary is the new persona your mother had now. " Salem said and was feeling sick to his stomach. He had dreaded telling Carly this but she needed to know.

"What do you mean?" Lynn asked.

Salem told Lynn and the others about the device that could change who a person thought they was. He also talked about the possible way that the original memories and persona could be recovered.
