Artunia nodded and got the device out and called Max. " You'll be safe in no time. "

"Thanks. Though...why are you doing this?" Kenda asked as she made herself comfortable against the wall, staying off of her injured foot

" A good friend of mine asked me to. You'll meet her soon. " Artunia said.

"If you say so. So...what's your name? I'm Kenda" she said. And while she didn't fully trust the person that saved her just yet, she was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt...for now.

" Nice to meet you Kenda. I am Artunia. " She said.

"A pleasure," she said before wincing lightly as she accidentally put pressure on her injured foot.

" Just relax. " Artunia said and hoped Max got the message.

"I've been living on the streets since the day I could hold my mace. I'm not just going to 'relax'," she replied with a little bit of venom in her voice.

Max received the message from Artunia. Seeing that Carly was currently sleeping, and comfortably so, she headed out of the room. Running into Taylor, she told him that she would be back and to keep an eye on Carly for her.

" Okay I will. " Taylor said.

" I understand. "Artunia and kept watch. " Max should be here soon."

"Max?" Kenda asked curiously.

Artunia told Kenda about Max and about Carly. " You'll be safe with us. "

"I just have to give up my freedom, that's definitely 'safe'" Kenda said sarcastically.

Max was flying towards where Artunia had activated the device. She was also carrying a first aid kit, having a feeling that it would be needed.

Artunia didn't say anything knowing it wouldn't help. " If there is anyone who can convince you it is Max. "

"I'll believe it when I see it," Hawkgirl stated as she waited for this 'Max' to appear. Soon after, she heard someone gliding down towards them. 'Is this Max another avian?' she asked herself.

" I made it here as fast as I could. " Max said and got the med kit from her pack. " Hi. I'm Max. " She said seeing the young avian near Artunia.

"Kenda" she replied in a curt voice. She still didn't trust these two women...at least not yet.

" Nice to meet you Kenda. " Max said. " I'm going to see if I can treat your injuries here, but if I can't we will have to take you somewhere that can. " She said seeing the distrust in Kenda's eyes.

"Alright. Just don't try anything," she said after a few minutes before getting as comfortable as she could. "And I'm only letting you do this because Artunia knows you."

" I understand. " Max said and looked over the wounds. " Some I can treat right here. But that gash on your arm needs professional help. "

"Professional help?" Hawkgirl repeated, not liking the sound of that. As a wild bishie, she knew that she couldn't get healed by normal means. "Then...can you heal what you can and I'll be on my way," she responded, wondering how she could wield her mace with just one hand.

"I can't let you do that. Artunia told me about the bishie that was attacking you. I don't want him to hurt you even more. I was in your position once. But I knew I couldn't face my struggle alone. " Max said.

"What do you mean?" Kenda asked, quite curious as to what the other avian went through.

Max told Kenda about her siblings and how they had been hunter. " If it wasn't for Carly finding me when she did , I'd be dead. "

"Carly...is she your trainer?" Kendra asked, wincing lightly when Max took out the needle that the Bullseye used on her.

"She is. And my best friend. " Max said. " Who attacked you?"
