When Davin pulled Lilly to him she rest her head on his chest rubbing at her eyes. "It's ok, she was sick, we knew it was coming. It's just... hard," she said with a small squeak, before bursting into another gasp of tears. At the same time a boom of thunder roared above them as the rain fell harder.
Trying to compose herself Lilly looked at Davin. Why was he staring at her like that? "I'm sorry, I got your shirt wet..." she said genuinely. But really, they were both soaked, and not because of her tears, but because of the immense and sudden unexpected downpour of rain. "I think we should get out of this awful weather," Lilly said, still feeling broken inside. Her long blonde hair had fallen out of it's braid by now and was wavey from the rain, sticking to the side of her face and clinging to her shirt. Her clothes were just as wet now clinging to her body. They desperately needed to get of this cold rain before they caught some awful sickness. |
Davin looked up at the sky nodding then looked back at Lilly, "Yes leaving the rain would be a good idea...quickly follow me..." He said grabbing her hand, "I know a club we could go to we would be safe there from the rain..." He said looking at her as he began to lead the way. Could she control the rain? Davin wondered as he led her. It seemed likely now. And if she could what did that mean? Maybe she really was the one.
|
They were running, hand in hand through the rain, their feet splashing through puddles as birds flew overhead ducking quickly into trees to escape the sudden downpour. Lilly was thinking of her poor poor pet when she began to smile, thinking of all of the good times they'd had. When she smiled the rain seemed to lighten a little as a faint glimpse of the sun peeked through the clouds.
She wondered what kind of club Davin was taking her too as they hurried through the rain. |
When the sky cleared and the sun shone as Lilly smiled Davin knew for sure. Somehow she was controlling the weather through her emotions, whether she knew it or not. This made her safety and importance even greater. He looked at her smiling happily as he stopped in front of a club called Seelie, "Just stay close to me and don't drink anything anyone offers you...and stick to water and soda..." He said looking at her. "Don't trust anyone....just me.." He said reassuring her with a gentle squeeze.
|
They stopped in front of a club called Seelie as Lilly listened closely to his words. She was kind of nervous, as she had never been to a club before and was currently looking a little more like a wet dog than a chic clubber. In fact, was Davin even old enough to be going to a club, and even more importantly, Lilly had never once even seen this place here before.
She shrugged it off as he gave her a gentle squeeze. He certainly did comfort her and his body heat was exactly what she needed after such a shockingly cold downpour that seemed to dissapear as she thought of Davin. His words made her feel safe, but what had he meant by not trusting anyone else? Would the people inside this place be trying to trick her or something? In any case, she did trust Davin, and she would listen to him if he said to be careful. She took a deep breath as she followed him inside. |
Davin held her hand gently as he led her in looking around the room figuring out who was there. The fae paused looking at Davin and fell silent seeing the girl he was with. Slowly some fae began to cheer and smile. Davin chuckled nodding at them before looking at Lilly, "A tradition when I come...the regulars all love me..."He grinned brightly.
|
Lilly was blushing slightly at Davin holding her hand as he pulled her inside the club behind him. Her eyes widened as they came into the dimly lit, but brightly colored room. There were glamourous lights, and beautiful people everywhere. But something seemed, off, about them. Were they in costume? Did she just see wings?
When the people inside began to cheer for Davin, Lilly found herself feeling rather self conscious. She looked like a wet homeless person compared to some of the girls in this place who were certainly giving her what appeared to be evil looks. Lilly was beginning to feel awfully confused. What was this place, and who was Davin for so many people to be so happy to see him, they cheered everytime he arrived? |
Davin smiled leading her to an empty booth. He looked at her with a grin nodding to a couple of the patrons he knew very well. He grinned at Lilly, "You probably have a couple questions now don't you..." He said softly, "If you do you can ask them..." He smiled at her, "And I'll always give a truthful answer..." Davin would have to as a fae he couldn't tell a lie even if he wanted to.
|
Sitting in the booth Lilly stared at Davin with a deer in the headlights look for a moment. So she was right, there was something strange about this place. Lilly took him up on his offer as she blurted a slew of questions, one after the other without so much as giving him a chance to answer before she was finished. "Who are you and what is this place? Why do these people cheer for you, and did I see wings? Why did you bring me here?"
When she finished her onslaught of questions she was leaning towards him anxiously awaiting his response. |
Davin nodded and thought for a moment, "I brought you here because this place belongs to my family and is safe from the rain. You might have seen wings...I'd be surprised if you did though. They cheer for me because I'm the life of the party...and I the place being in my family. This place is a club for people like me. And I am Davin..." He said smiling. He had answered her questions truthfully.
|
Lilly nodded in response to Davin's answers. He seemed to be telling the truth, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something from her. The stares of the customers of the club were making her even more curious. Looking once again to Davin, Lilly flat out asked, "Davin is there something you're not telling me? I don't mean to sound weird, but you've given me a funny feeling all day, and then somehow I just so happened to run into you yet again, and then we come to this place, which isn't like any place I've ever been to, and it all just seems so strange to me..." She did it again, rambled. She did that when she was feeling nervous, it wasn't something she could help. Embarrassed at the fact that she had asked him that, her cheeks reddened and she looked down at her hands.
