The forest was quiet. It didn't have to be. It had no reason to be really. Yumiko knew that. Here she was with her other comrades, hidden in the shadows. They have enough information to report to the Fifth Hokage. They needed to do this fast before they were caught. Above her, her orange canary, Jolin chirped as if to keep watch. The ANBU blue eyes scanned around. Next to her, her comrade, Zorin sighed.
"Are we seriously going to wait here? Look at him, he's by himself," he mumbled, "The perfect hostage."
Yumi shook her head. Stands of her long purple hair were escaping from her tied up bun. In the distance, another fellow ninja whispered. "Not yet."
They waited for a few hours. The ninja was alone. Of course, but it seemed like he was waiting for someone. She looked around. If there was anyone coming, they would have heard it. Jolin would have seen it. She shifted her stance, unsure of what this man was waiting for.
Three months, her team pursued this rogue group of Sound ninja. However, they seemed to expand rather quickly with ranks. Now, she knew of their plans, their tactics, everything. If only she could safely get back.....
"Zorin!" a ninja exclaimed as the ninja next to her ran up. Yumi's eyes widened. She tried to grab him but he was a little too far away. It's a trap! she thought, realizing as the man turned and a few more ninjas appeared. She grabbed a kunai and raced over, blocking a shuriken. The rest of her team followed and a fight broke out.
The fight broke out and her teammates dropped to the floor. They weren't expecting this. They didn't plan this. Yumi reached for her dual assassin blades when she got knocked down. Next to her was Zorin's mutilated body. His eyes were still wide but filled with blood. Above her, Jolin flew, chirping loudly and frantically. Yumi felt like blacking out but it was hard as she felt someone grab her by the hair and pulling her upright.
"You've been causing problems," a voice echoed. Yumi couldn't make out the figure in front of her. She was covered in blood, all over her face. It was hard to see.
"Well make sure you won't anymore," the voice continued as Yumi's arm was shot forward. She tried to resist but got smacked in face. She groaned and spat out some blood. Then she felt a searing pain on her wrist and saw as her world faded to darkness.
