Blahhhh~ I did the face (except the eyebrows, haven't decided on hair color yet) and I diid the base of the dress only to realize that:

*I picked a red dress

*The velvet ropes are supposed to be red

:gonk:

So now I'm deciding whether or not to re-paint the dress to be a different color or to just leave it as-is and keep going. Whatever new color I pick should be a gold compliment though, since I don't really want to fuss with jewelry choices again.

xuvrette 03-04-2012 12:23 PM

LOL. don't you have the item to try on its poses?

I gave up on the gold. The purple and silver is more pretty, so I will just have to find new jewelry.

I am not happy with how the eyes look and will probably change them, but not until I get some more dress done. I think I will also change the color. What color should I make the hair? I think maybe dark brown but I am not really sure.

I think a dark brown would work. Could try different colors on differing layers and then decide from there.

I only have three layers to work with though D:

One is the picture I started with (which will go away after I finish the dress), the sketch outline, and the color.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-06-2012 05:19 AM

@Disa: Eep! :gonk:

@Keyo: Oh right, you have the program that only allows 3 right?
You could do the different colors and just save them as different files. P:

xuvrette 03-06-2012 03:23 PM

what? what programme only allow 3 layers? O_O

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-06-2012 03:31 PM

It was something I found out from her Art Post thread.

The program I'm using is called Sketchbook Express. It's really awesome for a free program, but it only supports 3 layers at a time, which is a total pain in the butt. It also lacks select, copy, and paste. It does do some basic transformations (which I mostly use to re-center a piece on the canvas after I've started) and it has 12 different brush types. It also has a symmetry mode, which could be cool if I knew what to do with it xD

The pro version is USD $5. If it had more tools (like SMUDGE, UGH) and supported more than 6 layers (it seems so arbitrary... can't I have at least 16?) I'd consider buying it. Still, it's not bad for a free program running on Honeycomb.

xuvrette 03-07-2012 11:58 AM

*points* STALKER! :<

ooo... $5? rather cheap.
but understandably limited in a lot of functions.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-07-2012 01:54 PM

Yeah; so limited. :c

Isn't there a better free program? What's the one everyone uses...It's almost like a simulator of Photoshop, but not as simple as a flimsy 3-layer format.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2012 01:45 AM

Gimp? :O

jupiter 03-13-2012 01:51 AM

That's the one, yes. Wasn't that the preferred choice for free software?

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2012 01:54 AM

I think so. I didn't care for it when I used it, but I'm sure it just takes some getting used to.

jupiter 03-13-2012 01:56 AM

I distinctly remember vowing that I would never use photoshop or drive a manual car.
Yet, here I am, hahaha!

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2012 02:04 AM

Haha, why didn't you want to?

It's for my tablet PC though. I do use Paint.NET for my laptop but my mouse-handling skills are extremely shoddy.

If you can find a better free program for something that runs on Android Mobile (Ice Cream Sandwich), by all means I'd love to hear about it!

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2012 04:08 AM

I knew there was a reason you used it. :XD Like, you didn't use a traditional computer.

Keyori 03-13-2012 04:11 AM

Yup. I've been putting off finishing my latest piece though, since I'm traveling this weekend and I need something to do on the plane. xD

I'll definitely have an update next week though.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 03-13-2012 04:12 AM

Ooh, where are you going? I think I remember you telling me, but uh... > 3>;;
-gives a cookie-

Woot!

Keyori 03-13-2012 04:16 AM

We're going to my alma mater for St. Patrick's day, since it's kind of a big deal there. As in, there's no classes held on Thursday or Friday this week. xD

ST. PAT'S IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. Best Ever @ Missouri S&T
