Depreciation?
How about her fly powers? who she 'suck' it from? |
Yes, the powers she borrows usually takes a lot of her. And then they go away.
The personalities of the people she absorbed tends to linger, though. The flying power is hers. Her mutant powers are evolved in the original series. She can both absorb power and fly. But that's as far as Marvel let her character grow, though. Unless the comic books display more (I've never read them). ---------- Post added 08-21-2013 at 09:21 AM ---------- And I guess the evolution of her flying could've happened from absorbing so much of Storm's, Jean's, Magneto's and other telepathic powers over the years she's been with the X-men. But the only background story they show in the original animated series is her running away from home after sending her human boyfriend to the hospital, in a coma because she kissed him and was absorbing his life force by accident. |
Storm's probably my favourite X-Men member. Gambit too, but he's half here, half there with them so I never really counted him as an X-Men. [lol]
I drew an Jaeger. \o/ http://31.media.tumblr.com/d2f4c32bb...6ngo1_1280.jpg |
oh, so flying is also her origin powers? I see...
I was never indulge in Xmen before. I like Gambit for his impression very close to Magician. |
@ Xu; ah, well, I grew up on it cause I'm a 90s kid. lol
I try to detour away from getting into technical detail like boys like to do, though. And yes, it's her origin powers. Gambit is a swindler and that's the best description for him, being a magician xD I like that he puts playing cards to use. @ Iro; Cause she controls the weather? And has a more sinister background? Well, Wolverines like that too. Wolverine and Gambit are free spirits of the X-men--at least, that's how I see it. Jaegar... what's that? XD |
... I have cousins from 80s to millenium... they don't use that flash card method or the word 'bullet point'. XD Point form.

ah, they never got into computers then. Computers and school didn't really connect with each other until, like... uh... third grade but even then, they were just to do small research.
Only in the fourth and fifth grade did it become more common. And then once I hit sixth grade, computer class was heavily mandatory from then on. High school didn't really let you choose any classes you wanted to, as you entered as a Freshman. They only let you choose 2-3, if they weren't full. Otherwise, you just had required classes. I like computers, so I went with always having a computer class. I type 100 wmp on a good-ish day even though I was so tired of the school day dragging on and 120-140 wmp when I'm in a pretty good mood. Otherwise, I just type 96 wmp. All my classmates were angry with me because I'd get the practice lessons done in a flash and was able to play typing games for fun afterwards. They also begged me to type their stuff and I said no. XD ---------- Post added 08-21-2013 at 04:42 PM ---------- Being a fast typist is nice but amg, the overkill it does on your fingers is murder. |
@Miro:
I like her overall character and personality, though her powers are a bonus. ;) I've never really delved much into the Marvel universe, to be honest. I'm more invested in the DCU, although lately not so much. >.> Jaegers are HUGE, giant robots from a recent movie, Pacific Rim. :D Yay, robots! http://24.media.tumblr.com/90749b066...2o3_r2_250.gif |

Omg...a prancing Jaeger!! [rofl] |
100wpm? That is awesome! I can't do that... T__T I am only 80wmp... *feels slow*
My family got the first computer when I was 4th grade. Besides, curiously, in the family of 4, dad and mum, elder brother, I am the first person that can type fluently in both English and Chinese. XD From the start. I start writing my first stories on that computer too. That is how I get familiar with the keyboard. |

Is the DCU where all the Marvel characters collide together? Well... I don't think I was ever really into Marvel. I was more into Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Looney Tunes, and Ninja Turtles. Ohhh! Did you see that movie? Was it good? Cause the way it looks in the previews just looks like a let down to me. Quote:
80 is good! D: Aww! See! You're a major smart cookie <3 I don't actually remember when mom bought the computer that we first had. It was one of the first modern ones, though. Big, chunky, and you couldn't really do anything on it other than play PC games. I favored the game "snake." Where you have to navigate the green thing to eat the apples, which is kind of like the game snake here on mene. Then there was Doom, Quake, etc etc. Doom always made me mad. But are your keyboards all written in Chinese? or do they have the English counter-parts on them? |
@Antagonist[/b]:
Which is your favourite Jaeger? [eager] @Miro: DCU - DC Universe DC Comics, basically. xD I think Vertigo counts as DC too, since they've been bought over by the company. I enjoy all those you listed too! I only mentioned DC because it's usually DC, Marvel and Dark Horse that people compare between. :) I personally really liked Pacific Rim, but it all depends on the person. If you're a fan of mecha and the monster genre, especially in old school anime, then you might enjoy it. The movie is what the trailer is, really. I have work-related purposes for watching it too, like I'd say I was awed watching the Transformers movie, but apart from that, they were honestly terrible. [lol] If you would like a comparison, though, Pacific Rim is a much better movie by far. Shots are clear and clean so you know what is going on on the screen without all the tumbling confusion Transformers was. The soundtrack lends to the movie very well (I'm listening to it right now, actually) and the fights between the Jaeger and Kaiju were honestly breath-talking. ---------- Post added 08-22-2013 at 11:02 PM ---------- @xuvrette: The Animangaki convention is this weekend, by the way, in case you'd like to know. |
TYPING Game! That is the most ingeneous game type ever! I only played one typing game before... zombie shooting one.
My first computer... I remember the branding is called Omega. XD It is also chunky ones... I think it was during the 90s. Screen is the chunky ones. I remember attending computer class in elementary school, 3rd grade... I think, started with DOS system. XD and yeah, only good for games. And then the Operating system of windows start developing in such a fast rate, when I graduated from elementary, the Operating system is full screen... O__O Somewhere in between, we somehow just jumped over the windows desktop 4 split screen. My brother played games comes with the computer. While I play games, but I spend more time typing up my story, and I use Word as a start. 8D So I get to know all about word too. Of it features and how things work. 160wmp? How to achieve that? my hand would be so tired.] As for Chinese, we have romanized pronunciation. We enter the pronunciation, then they pop out a list of words, we enter the number to enter it. ---------- Post added 08-22-2013 at 03:03 PM ---------- heh... Where is this convention? It cost money? But I am lazy to go out... x.x |
Sunway Pyramid Convention Center this year. RM15 per day, RM25 for both days.
Here's the official site: AniManGaki 2013 |
All this convention are so far from me... can't they have one just right outside my doorstep? I have such huge football field out there...
There seems to be a lot of convention since millenium... and even though Kpop is the heat now. |

They're all pretty cool...appearance-wise I like Gipsy Danger most (that head and the glowing nuclear-chest!), but the Crimson Typhoon's spinning blades had me all starry-eyed. [love] |
WHat is with Crimson Typhoon being Typhoon Crimson? XD

woo! *high fives* Ah, okedokey. I don't really know much about the DC universe. So, I'm glad you're telling me. \ o / I might... I did like Ghost in the Shell before it got too confusing and couldn't keep up with it anymore. I actually hated Ghost in the Shell movie they made, the first one. I will try and watch it. I really didn't like the adamantium Samurai suit in the "Wolverine," movie, it was cheesy. But I do like Transformers, Bumble Bee is my favorite. I tried watching them as a kid but I didn't like the cartoons at all... Except for Beast Wars. [ninja] Was Pacific Rim a game or a comic book? Quote:
And I wanted to get a high score too. lol The only thing I can remember about the game was that it made you type out full sentences as you traveled through space. And I think *each word you typed out correctly, the space shuttle was able to dodge meteorites and proceed to the next galaxy? I tried surfing Google--no luck. Oooo, I never heard of a computer brand name called Omega. Split Screen, meaning using duo computers, using one tower? I find that very disorienting. But that's neat that you started out so early, writing stories. I never really got into that then. I especially hated reading books too. I rather be outside as much as I possibly could. I didn't get addicted to computers until... the end of 5th grade? Then it was an on/off thing because I wanted to run around with kids my age but yet, I liked having friends online too. To achieve it...? Uhm, um. You just have to ignore the home keys. That's what I do. As long as you know where the home keys are, then don't keep your fingers glued on them. Once you're used to looking at the screen to see the letters you're typing without focusing on the keyboard, it gets easier. And based on the keyboard you're using, you may get annoyed at how loud your fingers are hitting the keyboard as you start to type faster too. > w >; It doesn't bother me but it will prolly bother someone next to you? *shrugs* And if you make grammar mistakes, just wait until you're done typing and go back and right click and fix them. That sounds like you're entering codes for them. That's so weird xD |

I knooow [rofl] I'm guessing it might be a Japanese thing? The name the people in the movie call the mech by was 'Crimson Typhoon' (English), which sounded right, but then during a close-up of the mech while it was wading out into the waters for combat, I saw '暴風赤紅' ('Typhoon Crimson') printed on its chest and was like 'Wtf...' [XD] |
weird... Japanese structyre also put adjective in front of the noun...
Did you read it backwards? Say... right to left? XD haha! |
That still wouldn't make sense, it would become 紅赤風暴 and that doesn't mean anything like Crimson Typhoon either! [rofl] |
At least it gets the structure corresponding... O__O
|
Hahaha I guess...I still want to ask them why they printed it like that though, that little detail keeps bugging me. [gonk] |
BY the way, the words are printed in horizontal or vertical direction?

Good that you picked up on the Power Rangers and Godzilla feel! The movie paid homage to shows like Mazinger Z (Go Getter Robot in English translations) and the whole kaiju franchise (which includes King Kong, Godzilla, Gamera and many other creations Japan had over the years), so you're totally feeling it right. I totally loved the EMP scene when it happened. The only one better than that was when Otachi spread her wings and started smashing Gipsy on the ground. That was a WOAH moment for me. The soundtrack has 25 tracks, yes. They blend very well together and whenever The Shatterdome plays, I have an extra voice going, "...for six years. Six years...," in my head. [lol] About the Crimson Typhoon thing, I noticed the flipped Chinese letters too but I didn't think too much about it. Tendo and the other people in the LOCCENT referred to that Jaeger as Typhoon so I chalked it up to misinterpretation when they were logging in information for the Jaeger. "Typhoon Crimson? That doesn't make sense! Are you sure they didn't mean to write Crimson Typhoon instead? That's so much cooler." *co-worker shrugs* "Crimson Typhoon it is!" And then the Wei Tang brothers and the other Chinese team members made a whole ruckus out of it so everyone calls Typhoon Typhoon instead of Crimson (all the other Jaegers were called by their first names). Quote:
Whenever you want to talk DC Comics, look for me. [ninja] Pacific Rim's story is rather straightforward and they build the world for you right out in the first 10 minutes so it shouldn't be very difficult to understand. Bumblebee is almost everyone's favourite. How does one not like Bumblebee? [eager] Don't remind me about the Wolverine. *shudders* Pacific Rim is a Del Toro original series, made solely for the movie. :) |
