If it's salty then it's soup to me, even if it's cold and tastes weird. [:P] |
heh... how about 酸梅汤? It is not salty... is it?
|
That sounds a lot more like juice than soup to me, to be honest. o.o
I must look into this cold soup thing. |
酸梅湯 is sort of a combination between sweet and salty...not really one of my favorite drinks. @[email protected];; |
...hmm... how about... 汤圆?
That is definitely sweet! |
There're actually salty 湯圓s too~ [XD] But yeah, most of them are sweet it seems...I'm quite fond of them despite the high calories they have. [drool] |
There are salty ones? O__O
D: you sure it is not because they mistaken salt as sugar? |
lol! Just Google '鹹湯圓' and you'll see~ [XD] |
hmm... there is another thing added to your sig?
|
IT's a really cute little peach!
|
I like 汤圆s....both sweet and savoury. must admit I've had the sweet ones more often though...peanut filling.
|
I don't know those are but the sound interesting.
|
I wonder what are their names in English.
Direct translation. Soup Round. XD |
haha...google translate calls them dumplings...but there are ones that don't even have fillings...and are usually smaller...I know they're made with sticky rice flour...so sticky rice balls?
|
... dumplings? Nah... dumplings are far more salty and delicious.
Too small to call dumplings in my opinion. |
Dumplings is a bad translation in my opinion too...though 汤圆 are tasty too.
|
I never recall having meat soup round.
Always those that are dang sweet. -__-;; and I have them chill before drinking it. *chuckles* |
I like the peanut kind. [drool] Sesame's pretty good too. ---------- Post added 09-12-2013 at 08:51 PM ---------- And I have no idea who added the peach. [XD] |
I want to try this whatever it is your talking about.
|
They taste awesome. [drool] |
What's in them in the picture? [:O]
|
Are they like a type of mochi? I like that stuff.
|
Now that you mention it... they do look a lot like Mochi.
*shakes head* Poor Chinese culture, not as popular as Japanese. XD |
Whaaat. There are way more Chinese restaurants in the States than Japanese, I think.
Now, the authenticity of the food is a whole different story. [lol] |
They are textually similar to mochi, also sticky, but those sweet ones, black sesame and peanut filling are depicted in those pics, usually served hot in a sweet coconut milk based soup...apparently some people have died from burning of the throat from eating ones that have fillings that are too hot.
