HPs are notorious for being shity XD I have a toshiba and it takes quite a beating pretty well if that helps.

Pistachio_Moustache 09-29-2014 07:46 PM

Mine's custom built.
My desktop, that is.
I don't have a laptop.
xD

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 07:46 PM

@Goat
We only bought them because they had a good price on them at the time.
And everyone elses laptops were super expensive.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 08:03 PM

Pftt. Expensive is part of the territory sadly. I had to take out a loan to get mine.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 08:06 PM

My family is strongly against Loans.
So, I do not plan to do any sort of loans. No matter what it is for.
I will afford it when I can.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 08:09 PM

Oh I think Loans might work differently for me. I'm on a disability support pension so the government does all my loans as a forward payment of that.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 08:13 PM

We don't really do anything that could end us in debt.
We are sort of anti-debt.
Right now we are paying off the car. And then we are gonna pay off the school loan
my mom had when she was going to before she had her stroke.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 08:24 PM

Unfortunately debt is prerequisite of 'functioning disabled' at the moment here. ^^' I don't let myself get over 1000$ into it though.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 08:26 PM

That's good.
We mostly paid off ours except for what we are paying off now and what we need to pay.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 08:31 PM

Debt is actually a good thing, economics wise. Making the payments gives you a good credit rating which allows you to set up billing accounts with less hassle and helps you to get a house, phone, with renting things. I have a good credit rating because I've been paying things off.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 08:35 PM

Still, doesn't mean I am just gonna loan and get myself in debt
just so I can have credit.I rather not have any at all.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 08:48 PM

No credit is a nightmare though. Go out to a rent-to-buy place and rent something small, buy a Christmas hamper with monthly payments, or ask your parents to pay a small portion of the bills directly from your account. Could just be 5$ a month and that saves you a LOT of time and forms and tears in the future.
If you get good credit you can use less for collateral on the day when you have no choice but to get a loan too. I use mine as an investment for doctors bills in the foreseeable future. I KNOW I will have to have surgery I can't afford or get on dsp one day so I have that as a 'hopefully i wont have to lose the house to live' kind of deal.
Savings are also good. But unfortunately if you have too much in savings you have another headache. One dollar over the line and you lose qualifications for rent assistance, support programs, ect. So for someone on the poverty line it's actually easier to buy stuff on credit than keep savings.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 09:21 PM

I don't borrow money from anyone.
that's just a no for me.
Especially my parents because they can't afford much so it's wrong to do that in my opinion.

I refuse to do loans.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 09:41 PM

Well you'll need a small credit rating to get an apartment, to get approved for insurance (a legal requirement), to apply for accounts with the electricity company, ect. The sooner you get that the better. One year of tiny payments would give you enough of a credit rating to apply safely. Then you wouldn't have to bother again until you NEEDED to.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 09:58 PM

Then I will only have a small credit rating.
But if I can afford things, i don't have to loan right?

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 10:02 PM

If you can afford it then wonderful for you! But a credit rating is something to keep in mind when you're applying for things. It's something a lot of kids don't know about and that makes things so much harder than they need to be right at the start. Oh and read every contract carefully before you sign it. That's important too.

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 10:13 PM

I basically analyze things to the finest detail before doing anything.
Mostly because I have a learning disability.
But I analyze things to the last detail.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 10:35 PM

That's good for forms and stuff!

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 10:39 PM

Hehe indeed it is.
I like to read things over and over and over until it is literally implanted into my head
so far that I won't stop thinking about it for a while. [lol]

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 10:41 PM

I can't do that unfortunately. I get so dizzy. Lucky for me I have someone I can trust to read it out for me.

xuvrette 09-29-2014 10:47 PM

I like to stay debt free~

MoodyBats 09-29-2014 10:47 PM

that's good you have someone to read it out for you.

OnYourGoat 09-29-2014 11:14 PM

Debt in small controlled amounts is beneficial to your data profile though.
