Unfortunately, in the wrong hands the stone could do as much as control people's minds, starts wars, create monsters and demons, and even destroy civilizations and planets. To prevent this from happening the guardians of the stone smashed it. Upon being smashed, the tiny peices of the stone flew into the air and dissapeared among the planet. It was mid afternoon and Sasha was walking through a field of tall grass, the sun beaming overhead. Her strawberry blonde hair blew freely in the wind. She was wearing a dark green mini skirt with a tight white shirt that showed her midriff, a matching green jacket, no longer than the shirt on top with the sleeves cut off, and over her shoulder, she carried a pack of arrows and a bow. The bag she carried over her shoulders held a bit of food, water and other traveling goods. Up ahead was a villiage that she knew was hiding a piece of the stone, she could feel it. She entered the vililage to see no one in sight. The market was abandoned, fruits and vegetables scattered across the ground, carts topped over... "What happened here?" she asked aloud. Just then, a demon appeared behind her in cynical laughter. She turned around to see a tall snake-like figure looming over her, with crazy eyes and four grabby arms. She swung out her bow and grabbed an arrow and pointed it at the demons head. As she did a small glow emmited from the beasts shoulder, there was the piece of the stone, inside the demon's shoulder! |
On his first day of searching for peices of the stone, Jake had come across a nabouring village, but the only shocking thing was, the whole place was deserted and destroyed. Jake was about to avoid the town when he noticed something, from where he was standing it looked to be just a snake tail, but on a second look he saw that it was much bigger then a snakes tail "what the hell is that?" he whispered to himself, he crept closer and saw what it was and who it was after. He saw a female stood bow and arrow in hand ready to battle, Jake gasped and then took action "hey beast!" he yelled out as he drew his blade and stood as he kept his hood covering his eyes.

Sasha was about to shoot at the beasts shoulder to try and dislodge the shard when she heard someone shout. At the sound of the man's voice the demon turned, lunging towards him. "Damn!" she exclaimed. She needed to get that piece of the stone and she wasn't about to let it fall into anyone else's hands.

Jake saw the monster turn to him, he grinned a bit as it came at him, he dodged to the side and delivered a blow to the monsters side. Thats when he saw it, the peice of the stone, as he looked at the beauty of the stone he was unaware of the beasts tail which swung around and struck Jake sending him into a nearby wall which caused him to also drop his sword

As the demon flung the man into the wall Sasha saw it as her chance to attack. She took a broad stance and held the bow out. She pulled back the arrow and released it, flying through the air and, bingo! Perfect shot! The snake hissed in either annoyance or agony, she couldn't tell, and didn't care. The shard flung from it's shoulder onto the groud next to the man and as it did the snake slowly began to shrink down to a normal sized snake and slithered off into the brush.

Jake saw the womans shot and was clearly amazed, he had never seen a shot like that before, when shard landed next to him he picked it up and slowly rose up, arming himself once again with his sword he walked over to the female casualy holding the shard "i beleive this belongs to you" he said holding the shard out to her. It was easy for him to give the shard over because he had no greed for gems of such value unlike many of the people that were around his village "my name is Jake Dravis" he said with a bow.

When the man picked up the shard Sasha was ready to fight for it. She needed those gems to save her mother. When he brought it to her she took it quickly eyeing him. No one ever just handed over the shards like that. Everyone wanted them for one reason or another. "I'm Sasha D'Shae" she said, still wary of him. "And thank you" she added, not forgetting her manners.

Jake looked at the female who seemed to not trust him, he was a little confused at what he had done until a pain shot through his shoulder "gah!" he growled grabbing it "i think ive had it knocked out of place" he looked to the female, it was clear it was his main swinging arm since he was trying to hold his sword with it "i really must get going... i need to find a heal" he said giving a bow of respect before he turned and began to continue his journy

When Jake reached up in pain to grab his arm a look of concern swept Sasha's face. She was agressive when it came to the shards, but she was a deeply kind and caring girl and couldn't in good conscience let this man travel alone and injured in times like these. She hurried to catch up with him as she tugged on his good arm, "Wait a minute!" she said, "Let me help you." She moved to stand in front of him refusing to let him leave. She stared up at him unable to see his face very well from the cover of his hood.

Jake was growling and cursing under his breath when he felt the female tugging his good arm, he looked at her and was a little shocked, but mainly shy "n-no, i-im fine, just a l-little pain" he stuttered lowering his head so his hood covered more of his face as he gulped a bit, he really didn't like the fact he needed the help from someone else, the only people he didn't mind being healed by were healers

Sasha frowned up at Jake, "Don't be so stubborn" she said. A cool wind picked up around them blowing her strawberry hair about her face as she held her frown at the man. "Here..." she reached into her bag and brought out a small bean shaped looking item.
((I'm totally using these like sensu beans by the way ;))) Sasha held out her hand to the man, "Take this, I have tons of them. I'm not sure what it is, but a healer at the last villiage gave them to me. They seem to heal almost anything." |
Jake was still clutching his shoulder, he looked at the bean thing and then at the female a bit confused "a bean?..... that will help my wound?... ok ive heard of magic, but a magic bean? thats a new one" he said as he took the bean and inspected it a bit and shrugged his good shoulder "i suppose trying it wont hurt" he said as he put it into his mouth and swallowed it whole "ok.... will i be able to feel the magic happen?"

((Lol! Some Saiyan you are. Sorry I thought you were familiar with DragonBallZ :sweat: They are just beans that heal anything almost instantly. Like if you have a stab wound, it would heal as soon as you took the bean, only leaving a blood stain and a rip in your shirt...))
Sasha watched the man for a moment waiting for the bean to work. "It should work almost instantly, you shouldn't feel magic, just feel better." As she waited for him to heal she looked around at the destroyed villiage. "Why are you here?" she asked. |

Jake felt what she meant, within seconds his shoulder was repaired and he heard her question "well... my town isn't far from here, i was told that it had been under attack... unfortunatly... i was too late" he looked around the village and sighed "there is nothing left to defend... so i failed at my duty" he said as he picked up his sword and looked at her "why are you here?" |
She debated telling Jake what she was doing, as it was unsafe to tell anyone how many of the shards she had already aquired. She had been attacked many times for her jewels. But he seemed trustworthy, which wasn't a quality many people nowdays had. "I'm looking for peices of the Shahlin Jewel, to save my mother," she said sadly.

Jake saw she was hesitating, he knew he wasn't exacly the most trustwothy seeing as he wore a hood almost all the time, but he still liked to be trusted by people since he trusted others, but hearing the females words made him look down "i see... well... if it will help you any i will come with you to help you find the peices... afterall... i cant go home now this village is destroyed" he said sighing as he shethed his sword

Sasha stared owl eyed at him for a moment. No one had ever offered to help her before. Usually she was jumped or attacked or other awful things, but never helped. The offer caught her off guard, "Uh, well... I mean..." she looked down suprised she was saying this, "Yeah, I could really use some help, I guess." She blushed slightly at her own words, she was never one to ask for help, but this time it had been offered.
The sun was beginning to set now. Sasha walked to stand in front of the man. "Are you better? We should try to get to the next villiage before sun down. It's dangerous out here, and we will need rest, and food." |
Jake just smiled friendly when she began staring at him "alright!" he said when she accepted his offer for help, he then listened to what she had to say about trying to reach the next town and smiled more "dont worry, we will make it safely, ive been trained by one of the best swordsmen alive" he said as he looked at her "and i promise to risk my life for yours" he said with a bow "not trying to be all romantic or heroic, its just ive never be able to help anyone before because they all say im not good enough, but when swords are involed im good at that sort of job"

As they began their long walk to the next villiage Sasha wondered why Jake wore the hood that covered him so much. She was going to ask but got sidetracked at their surroundings. They were now deep in woods, the sun was almost completely gone and the air was chilly as Sasha shivered slightly. She stopped, "Jake, I don't think we're going to make it to the next villiage for a couple of hours. I think we should make camp here, I'm exhausted," she said as she gathered some firewood and piled it into a clearing surrounded by trees.

Jake kept his head down and his eyes were covered by the shadows that his hood cast, he wondered where they were heading since he had never ventured this far from his village before, he then stopped looking at Sasha and smiled nodding "good idea Sasha... i will sleep outside so i can keep watch and mainly because... i forgot a tent" he said shrugging a bit "i mean... i never planned to be camping outside..."

Sasha stared at Jake blankly, "A tent?" she asked, "I didn't bring a tent, it needs too much room when traveling. I've only got a thin sleeping bag" she said as she started the fire. The flames grew to cover almost all of the wood she had gathered, lighting up the trees that towered around them. Sasha put her pack down and removed the sleeping bag, laying it out near the fire. She sat on top of it using her bag as a pillow as she stared up at the stars thinking of her mother. She unlaced her knee high boots and kicked them into the grass as she stiffled a yawn. Sasha then removed her jacket as she glanced over at Jake. Typically she slept in her underwear, it was far more comforable. But she certainly couldn't with that man around. So she was left in her green mini skirt and tight white midriff shirt. Honestly, she might as well have been in her underwear with as little as the outfit covered. Digging around in her bag she pulled out some muffins and a pouch of tea that one of the elders from another villiage had given her. She threw the tea and a muffin to Jake as she leaned back on her pack again to watch the stars.

Jake chuckled as he looked to the female as she got the fire going and meantioned a sleeping bag "pah... i wont need one of them" he said as he sat on a nearby log with his hood covering his eyes "i do well as a night time gaurd" he said as he didn't bother looking at her since he knew it would be rude seeing how she was in so short clothing, unlike other guys Jake respected the females personal space and privicy. Jake couldn't help but blankly stare at the muffin and tea, he placed them beside him on the log "you should get to sleep" he said not looking up "i have a feeling tonight will be a chilly one" he said chuckling a bit, he seemed as if he was a monster himself but her clearly wasn't, he was just mysterious.

Jake was right, the night was proving to be chilly. Sasha had fallen asleep almost immediately after he had said he was a good night guard. It had been a long time since she'd had anyone protecting her through a night, and she was relieved. This would be the first good nights sleep she'd had in weeks.
She was nestled deep in the sleeping bag shivering greatly, frowning in her sleep as the wind picked up and stuck around, a constant flow of cold air upon them. |
