Bitter-Sweet Revenge (Nether x Siki)
 

My name is Caleb Anderson. I'm 6'3" and very muscular thanks to being a lycan...or werewolf. I'm somewhere between 21 and 27 look wise. I've forgotten my actually age after I was bitten. I was the alpha in a strong pack until a near by village came after us and wiped us out. Killing my friends and my mate. I'm now going out to get my revenge. I'm not usually a violent person but they pushed the envelope. I usually settle matters diplomatically and enjoy to be the center of attention and like to make others happy.

My names is Kaylyne Jackson. I am 5'4, have a petite frame and well sculpted muscles from heavy lifting. I live in a town by the forest, which is filled with Lycans. I'm a 23 yr old spinster who works and lives alone. My family died when I was young leaving me alone to be raised by the village, but they have regarded me as evil. I recently heard that they wiped out a pack of Lycans. God, how I wonder if my people are not the beasts that should be killed instead. I'm quiet and rarely talk, in fact only to woodland animals and I hope to get away, dream of love and a life that wasn't filled with such strife. But that's for others I'll probably be living here til I die.

Caleb stood hidden behind a line of trees over looking at village a growl rumbling in his chest as he watched the people mill around. He would kill them. For what they did to him and her, his love. He watched them as they were planning their celebration, happy that all the lycan's were dead. Even though he wasn't. They had missed killing Caleb. He wasn't there at the time having gone to meet with another pack nearby. When he had come back he saw his slaughtered pack. He growled as he remembered the image. They didn't know he was alive, killing them would be his greatest revenge.

Kaylyne ran mutely through the woods her hair flying behind her. She had stayed in the lake too long, her body still dripped as her dress clung to her body. She panted a little as she flew through the woods, creatures and birds calling out to her as she darted past. She sent a prayer up and then held her breath as she climbed the fence of her back yard and slammed into the house. She said nothing but instead walked up to the door to see the mayors son at her door. She sighed and opened it, looking into that face of a handsome devil, truly. She wished that he were anyone else, and that she were anywhere else.

"Looking nice, girly... When are you going to marry me beautiful?" asked the man to her disgust, she looked around him as she heard the sounds of revelry, they were still celebrating the wolves demise. She slammed the door in his face and locked it, before leaving again. She felt dirty in ways that even water couldn't rid.

Caleb narrowed his eyes as he moved closer debating. Going in to the village to play 'new comer' before he killed them seemed like the best plan. Smirking to himself as he continued to move closer he paused after a while seeing a girl who looked like she was fleeing to her house only seconds later did she move fleeing her house. "Strange..." He muttered watching her closely moving slowly towards her forming a plan in his head.

She ran back through the woods, to her secret place, a place that wild animals often came to. The bears and minx, foxes, rabbits, cougars, any animal felt safe to come to her. And she them, she mended and befriended them. Her voice was beautiful and melodic, pure and uncorrupted the animals communicated to one another. The girl was gentle and only allowed her voice to be heard by them, she never allowed humans to hear, and she cared for them. They protected her and felt as though she was one of their own. When the girl smiled and hugged them, they all felt happy. And yet, they didn't notice the presence of the wolf near by. Even though they had grieved for them, they weren't all that more concerned with the matters of the wolves, as they were very much loners to their own. They were just happy that their princess, as they called her had returned unharmed and safe.

Caleb tilted his head as he heard her singing. He let the last bit of his human form fade allowing the wolf form to take over as he approached. He gave a soft bark and howl as he approached. For a reason he felt like the girl would help him. He just needed to play his cards right. She obviously like animals...and from what he had seen nearly loathed the towns people. He stopped and sat on his haunches watching her and the animals thinking carefully.

The animals sensed the wolfs approach and then bolted for it, leaving Kaylyne at a loss for what to say until she looked over at the wolf that was at the edge of the circle of trees where she sat. She smiled softly and held out a hand to it, meaning no harm and was quite calm, and knew for a fact that any type of animal would want to investigate. Even if there were more beautiful, graceful and intelligent than humans. "I won't hurt you, I promise, won't you come keep me company?" she asked softly, her smile warming even more as she laid back against the tree, relaxing once again. It was beautiful out here, which made her unsure of why others feared it so much. All these animals wanted, was to be left in peace just like humans. But her people were a murderous lot and couldn't see that. That's why sometimes she wished she was an animal, free to go where ever and whenever.

Caleb snarled a bit his fur standing up at the girl. He remained still for a moment debating. He couldn't help it. Even if he believed the girl would help his instincts still took over. After a moment of thinking he relaxed. He moved forward slowly sniffing her hand. Satisfied he sat back on his haunches looking at her. He gave a bark tilting his head a bit.

She smiled and then only continued to hold her hand out, her head tilted to the side, giggling a little as she watched him. Her eyes sparkled with light laughter as she leaned her head onto her knees, keeping her eye contact as he gave a bark. He seemed like he was a very loving companion, hopefully he would take to her without feeling like she was taking him away from the forest.

Caleb wagged his tail a bit as he licked her hand. So far she was trusting him, and his theory was right. She wasn't like the other humans in the village. He now just needed to find a way to reveal himself to her without causing her to freakout and tell the village. He whined a bit as he thought. Humans were tricky...and he didn't fully understand them.

Smiling Kaylyne only moved to relax further against the tree and waited patiently for the majestic wolf to make his way towards her. She knew that with any animal, intelligent or not it had instincts better than any human and would immediately sense worry or fear. She didn't want to be bitten, but instead was determined to make friends with the black wolf. He was fluffy looking, which made her want to cuddle him for some odd reason, but then again she was like any woman, attracted to the fluffy and cute things in life. She liked animals and such, children too. She supposed that except for her usual silence in the village she was lucky to use her voice to talk to the animals.

Her mind floated back to the matter at hand as she began to hum a lullaby softly under her breath waiting patiently for him to come closer.

After a while he walked quickly towards her wagging his tail he layed down at her feet listening to her intently. He barked happily as he listened to her singing. He whined a bit pawing at her legs gently. He was enjoying listening to Kaylyne sing, for a human she had an unusually beautiful voice. He wondered what she would say if he changed into his human form right in front of her. Eventually he decided against it, at least for the moment.

She smiled and reach a hand slowly out to him, still humming the tune under her breath the also caught sight of the creatures who'd scattered before, they were edging closer in curiosity, though they respected the wolves they also feared them. But they loved Kaylyne more than they feared him, he was the last one! They knew what happened, and knew that here, they were now extinct, the wolves of Lysteria were no more and they had nothing to fear from one as long as they were together. At least that's what they thought, so one by one, the animals edged ever closer; knowing full well he might snap at them for their impudence, but Kaylyne had been their princess for years, some wolf wasn't going to come take her away from them.

"You're such a pretty wolf, big, but very beautiful. Majestic even." she whispered softly in awe as she watched him with eyes that held admiration and even a bit of envy, her wish to be free transparent.

Caleb turned his hair standing on edge out of instinct at the animals appeared from where they were hiding. It only lasted a moment though as he gave a low whine looking back towards Kaylyne. He wagged his tail happily as he heard her praise him. He was a proud wolf. An Alpha, the Alpha- or at least the former Alpha of the wolves of Lysteria, now he was nothing more than a lone wolf whose family had been slaughtered.

He tilted his head wondering as he saw the envy in her eyes. To a degree it amused him though mostly it made him feel happy.

There was only a nod of her head before she smiled at him and the animals and then got up and took off, her pace easy for some animals but hard for the others, her laughter floated back to where she'd been as she raced through the woods throwing everything off until she was in her sports bra and shorts. She grinned as she picked up speed racing against her friends before letting out a yell of pure pleasure and excitement. She saw the lake and ran even faster and then jumped into it, some of the animals following behind her to play in the water with her. She giggled and wondered if the wolf would be able to find her, then she somehow knew he would, he was very much intelligent and could fend for himself. She giggled and then let herself float as the animals played around her. She was free as long as she was here, there was no reason for her not to have her freedom here, to be with the animals she adored and get away from that hateful place.

As she took off Caleb sat there for a while waiting for her to get far enough away for there to be an actual chase. Once he sensed she was far enough away Caleb howled loudly and began sprinting off. He sniffed the air following her scent. It didn't take him too long for him to find her swimming in the lake. He wagged his tail as he sat down by the bank. He wouldn't go swimming in this form. The water was too deep for him to stay afloat for too long. He howled a bit as he watched her.

Shaking the water out of her eyes, she swam back to shore as she heard his howl. She smiled and then glanced down at the small creatures clamoring over her feet and running away. She gasped and looked at him, then she took off again in the other direction, they had been warning her off the mayor's son. She'd understood it from the desperation in their voices. When she managed to fun through the woods it was a while later, and she managed to get back into the house, she noticed that her front door was cracked. She looked around alertly and then to her surprise he grabbed her from behind and slammed her into the floor.

"Damned wild woman! My father is bothering me about marrying that gold digger, Pari, but since I know you've never been with another man, I know I've got to have you... And once I sleep with you, there will be no running away." he chuckled evilly as he looked down at her half naked body and imagined it being his for the rest of his life. It was worth it.

Caleb growled as she took off in a frenzy. He cold smell her fear. Quickly he ran after her. He arrived just in time to see what was going to happen. He whined a bit pawing at the ground. He needed to help the girl and possibly, no definitely kill that man! But how! If he went down as a wolf the villagers wouldn't stop until they had killed him. After him here would be no more wolves after all. However if he went into her house in his human for he would scare her and be naked. Neither he wanted to really do. He might be able find some of his hidden clothes fast enough to get dressed and save her. He growled he didn't have enough time to debate he would have to do it now.

Dashing back into the woods he found one of the hiding spots. He roared as he shifted back to being human. The process was a bit painful but quick. Once finished he dressed as quickly as he could and took back off to where Kaylyne's house was. He sighed breathing deeply to calm himself as he stormed into the house kicking down the already cracked door. "HEY!" He barked out his fists balled as he looked at the man. "You better back off the lady...or else..." He growled his gray eyes darkening with anger.

Kaylyne looked up in surprise at the strange but handsome man who kicked her door in, she almost groaned at the thought of having to repair it. But then she registered what he'd said. "You better back off the lady...or else...", thinking it over she knew that she didn't have the foggiest as to who this blonde man was! But right now, if he was going to be kind enough to save her, she'd be grateful and show her thanks after this repugnant idiot was gone. She growled softly before actually kicking said idiot in the butt and toppling him from her, which enabled her to run behind the stranger.

"Oh, so you do have a lover! I should have known it was too good to be true, mute doesn't mean stupid!" he yelled this mostly for his own benefit as he'd felt that she was indeed stupid because she was a mute. But he wasn't going to give her up yet, the guy was bigger than him, but he wasn't going to let that stop him from trying to get to her. With that he launched himself at the intruder with a booming war cry.

Caleb snarled as the man came towards him. He wasn't scared. He let his eyes narrow and the wolf surface. He was positive that this man was one of the humans that killed his pack. Instead of charging him as well Caleb held his ground waiting. His balled one of his hands into a tight fist. Once the man was close enough Caleb rammed his fist hard into his nose breaking it with a loud CRACK! He smirked darkly following up with a quick thrust kick to his groin.

Kaylyne watched in amazement as the guy toppled over, clutching his nads for dear life. She wanted to laugh but decided against it, she took his collar and then tossed him out the door. Then she slammed it so hard that the vase on the table slammed its way into the ground. She looked at it then up at the tall blonde stranger standing before him, looking very imposing and very much dangerous. Now she wasn't sure what to do, if he was a savior or if the mayors son had been the lesser of two evils. This day couldn't get any worse, not by a long shot. But then again maybe it could. She wanted to know what he was up to, but she knew she shouldn't speak in front of him, so she pulled out a pad and pen and wrote on it. "Who are you, and why did you save me?"

He looked at the paper looking confused. His finger traced the letters which looked like little more than squiggles to him. He frowned his eyes flickering. He barely remembered any of the letters. He knew just enough to read and write his name. He stared at them for a while trying to remember. After a moment longer he gave up, "Okay I'm just going to guess that you want to know who I am..." He said as he looked up at her running a hand through his hair, "Well my name is Caleb...I used to live around here when I was a kid...but I was raised far away...I just returning home when I saw that guy come in here...I heard what he said and...well..." Caleb shrugged looking again at the note.

She wondered why he couldn't read it, maybe he was just near sighted or far sighted, whichever it was! She figured that writing would be useless, so she used sign to tell him "Thank you." this time, though little did she know she was talking to the big black wolf she'd been playing with earlier. She was careful not to make any sounds with her voice, no human at all was supposed to know and she wanted to keep it that way. Even if he'd saved her from a fate worse than death, because her deception might mean her death. She nodded and then gestured to the door, though she was thankful, she needed him to leave; she also needed to get a deadbolt and lock her door better before she ventured out into the forest again.

"Ah...sure...no problem," he said nodding as he understood and turned to leave trough the door, "I suppose I'll see you around..." He said offering a small smile as he left the house quickly retreating back into the woods. He had no desire to live with in the town, but if he wanted to follow through with his plan for revenge he was going to need a house. But for now he just wanted to run free in the woods. And so he did taking off in a light jog in his human form through the woods he needed the exercise as his human body was weaker than he wanted for his plan.
