scary games?
whats your favourite scary game to play?
I personally find any of the Silent Hill games creepy as all hell and i know that, that stupid Rabbit will always get to me in every game its in I play hahahaha c: |
I love Silent Hill. One of my favorite games. Mmmm... Walter Sullivan? Yes, ma'am. lol
I also like Resident Evil. Remember when you had to fight Nemesis? Oh man... that was a NIGHTMARE! I died every time.I mean, they gave you an option whether you wanted to fight him now or put it off. But eventually, you had to fight him. |
Resident Evil and Silent Hill ALWAYS make me lose my shit and scream.
|
Resident Evil and Silent Hill are the best, though I do have to say the Penumbra games did a really good job of it. I would say Amnesia: The Dark Descent would be better (it was made by the same people), but I haven't played it yet. Ooooh, and Shadowgrounds gets points too.
If you want something Co-Op Survival Horror that's more fun than scary, the Left 4 Dead games and Killing Floor are the best right now that still get updates. Though personally the first L4D feels much better than the rest; it has that "classic zombie horror movie" feel to it all over. Then again, Valve is planning on putting all of the maps of the first into the second game in free DLC, so just wait a bit and get the 2nd. |
I loved F.E.A.R. It was a blast to play when you have someone who frightens easy watching. Resident Evil is always a good one too. And Black Ops Zombie mode(sure its not really Horror...but when you are running around backwards and then turn just in time to see something smacking you...) Dead Island is also another good one I like to play.
Killing Floor is fun, but after a few maps it can get boring, especially since it takes FOREVER to get to the next level in some of the perks(Firebug, Medic, and Berserker being the most annoying). |
Medic is a chooore, especially with everyone playing's current attitude about healing. "Hey, stand still. HEY." Sometimes you get hurt just for trying to heal someone, and the medigun isn't the most accurate option in the world. XD

I'm playing both Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 4 right now  I'm such a chicken, I get scared at any thing.
Amnesia is the scariest game I've ever played. |

Rule of Rose gave me nightmares, it was really disturbing
|
wow hahaha theres so many awsome games out there!!!!!
|
Most people aren't crazy about the game from what I've seen, but I thought the remake of Siren on the PS3 was pretty good. The voice acting was actually good and there was serious dread in the game when you have to hide from the shibito while you're sightjacked to them.

Bioshock scares the poo out of me, but I'm a wimp, and most people don't find that game scary from what I can tell.
|
Dont' forget about Dead Space, it creeps me out so badly I can't play it.
|
Amnesia.
Nuff said. |
Amnesia: The Dark Decent. It's awesome and terrifying. Number one fav PC game, and the only video game that gave me nightmares.
|
Amnesia (though it takes a while to get into IMO), Silent Hill, Siren (PS2), and Dead Space freaked me out something awful. :P
Also, when I first started playing Bioshock, I got freaked out over every little thing. :insane: I did get used to it eventually. Quote:

A friend of mine tried to get me to download Amnesia so we could play together. I think because he wanted to hide behind me! Considering that Minecraft scared me when I first started playing it, I sure as hell wasn't gonna try Amnesia
|
Resident Evil 1 the original... makes me think of asking someone Where's Barry?!
and Jill Sandwich...lol |

Oh shit, I used to go down into mines and duck behind each corner, scamper across to leave a torch and then run back. I would then scream as soon as any mob approached me. I was bad. :( |
Oh god yeah, I was shit-scared when I first started investigating underground xD Particularly when the ambient noises kicked in. The first experience of hearing a zombie through the stone, somewhere...man  Of course now I run after zombies and punch them on the nose :ninja:
|
A good one I recommend for the Dreamcast is Illbleed. Combination of scary and weird. 5 characters to play and upgrade and 3 endings to see. A definite recommend.
For pc I recommend the origianl Doom and Doom 2. Very good FPS with amazing environments and many enemies to fight. |
I can't believe I forgot about it but KILLING FLOOR scares the shiz out of me.
jelly: Man, eff the ambient music. Every single sound got me every SINGLE time. P: Zombies ain't nuttin' now. But I hate skeletons. Any time I hear the twang of an arrow I freak. |
Thought I'd like to mention, I found this Pokemon Ruby romhack named Pokemon Snakewood. It takes place in a zombie apocalypse. Fighting ghosts/zombie trainers and their undead pokemon in ruined cities is... actually a cool concept. It's a good deal harder, but I hear that it gets a lot weirder later on though.
Now, if it only didn't have quite so many glitches... the poor data looks like a mess when you look at it through any viewer. :F |
Another good one is Blood. You play as a resurrected man out for revenge against a cult that betrayed him and his friends. You fight with an assortment of weapons such as pitchforks, various guns, dynamite, voodoo dolls, etc. There are many fun things to do in the game such as watching zombies/cultists dancing around whilst on fire, playing soccer with zombie heads, finding various secret passages, etc. It's a very fun game.
