TES: Skyrim - IT'S COMING OUT TODAY!!
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim (official site) |
I went and got it last night at the midnight release. Played it all day.
High Elven mage, hell yeah! Can't wait to get home from work so I can play some more. |
Waaah! How was it like? How does it compare to Oblivion? :eager: I know there are vids and stuff on that, but I want to hear it from someone who actually played it and not from the developers. :XD |
I also got it at midnight. I have to say, it's not disappointing me so far :)
|
... I hope my brother gets his copy soon. :XD No idea how long it'd take for him to get it though... |
Noooooo! Spoilers are bad! I think you'll love the game so much more if its not spoiled for you.
What's the hold up on getting his copy? |
He says he's waiting for a bit before getting it, so they can patch up possible bugs first...:( I'd buy my own copy, except I have no idea where they sell these things... |
Eh I havent noticed any bugs and I bet if there are, they're probably very minimal. Bethesda is actually good about testing and getting most high level class bugs taken care of before release.
|
The PC version has a ton of bugs (because the game was designed for console and sort of tossed back to PC at the last moment), but the ES mod and developer community is always great at pushing out hotfixes, so it'll be patched up shortly.
I'm very sad I couldn't play more of it - I'm hardly through the opening, but I couldn't bear to go farther, I was so laggy. Turns out it was because of a very stupid reason that I was too dense to check: PC gamers beware - Skyrim is ONLY bieing released in a multi-core version. That means if you're still running a single core processor like me, you're screwed. Dx Looks like I'm going to have to upgrade my whole machine to play a game I've been waiting for for years. ;~; |
Ah I didn't go for the PC version. To be honest, I hardly ever do buy PC over console unless its some mmorpg.
|
Eh?! Shiiii--- :gonk: |
multi cores are nice :) I built my own. Or well, had my bf do it for me. He knows how to do all that stuff. He said the next time either of us upgrades stuff he'll teach me how to too. But it was definitely cheaper to build my own then try and buy one anywhere else. I think the most expensive thing I bought was actually my case >.> Just because I wanted one with custom art and blue lights (I <3 blue glory things) and I needed awesome fans for 2 graphics cards that were going to be over clocked. At some point I need to go to liquid cooling but it seems fine as is for now and none of my friends know how to do that themselves.
sometimes websites like Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more! offer discounts on things or free sticks of ram when you buy other things. those definitely deals definitely help out. |
Hm, I'll have to ask around and see if there's anyone I know who knows how to put together computers. D: I suck at tech stuff... |
My bf swears its easy and mostly things just snap into place. I don't believe him though >.> lol I'm sure you'll find someone that knows how. :)
|
Haha xD For the people who know the stuff, it's easy...for the ones who don't, well....^^; |
Befriend someone from geek squad :P lol. Its a pretty common skill. I have another friend that loves building computers. I told him next time I decide I need a new one I'll give him 3k to play with and he can see what kind of monster he can build. :P
|
I used to know one, but he's from college and now that we've all graduated I have no idea where he went. :XD It's unlikely he'd travel all the way to where I live just to help me put together a computer anyway. Guess I'll just have to rely on computer people from shops. :P |

Whoa...yeah, I forgot about the dual-wielding bit. Hm, that would make marksmen at a disadvantage, wouldn't it? Since they wouldn't be able to shoot arrows and fire spells at the same time...oh well, I'll know when I get it! :eager: |
I didn't really care for archery in Oblivion, for some reason I could never get used to it. I LOVE the minor tweaks they made it to it in Skyrim, I've always got my two swords and a bow with lots of arrows just in case some idiot bandit thinks its awesome to shoot at me....which actually happened lol.
Skyrim is everything they hyped it up to be in my opinion. The movements are more fluid and natural, the characters look better, the skill system is better.....Its just all around amazing. Very addicting lol. Edit: 飛段, you asked about the weather and such. There is different terrain. It rains randomly and higher elevations has snow that actually accumulates as it falls. |
I like marksmanship so much mostly because I had 100% Chameleon, which meant I could just stand there and shoot arrows while the enemy ran around yelling aloud wondering where I am. And awesome! So you could carry both swords and bows on your back now? Or is it just one-handed swords and bow, while the claymore is still only the only one allowed to be equipped? |
I haven't tried out the bow and arrow what with my emphasis on magic spells.
And yes, the terrain is different in different areas. Though, I went North first so there's nothing but snow where I am at the moment. |
I have to agree. Skyrim lives up to the hype :)
I focus on magic as well but the chameleon arrow set up would be the evil sort of sneaky fun too. I hope you can get it soon |
Its definitely a fun game to play. Though walking into a town to have three hired thugs saying they are going to teach me a lesson....that wasn't fun since I was already 3/4 dead. -.-
|
Agreed. I kept dying while I was playing easier. And each time I reloaded something worse tried to kill me. It's fun being a mage, but fighting other mages is a pain!
