Maddy looked at him. "In due time." She grabbed the backpack from him and slipped it over her shoulders. She began walking towards the stairs. "Any nearby airplanes?" She looked over her shoulder at him. She waited for him to start coming. She felt bad for not showing him how she was supposed to look like. But it wasn't the time for silly stuff now.
|
"Alright," Raven said putting down his drink. "First things first, we need to know whiat servant's have been summoned already. No one's allowed to fight until every master has been chosen. We also need to know where the battle is going to take place, considering this is the city I was chosen, this is either the city, or we're close to it." Nabadell nodded,
"What do you want me to do?" "Run around the city, make sure you're in spirit form, and see if you can feel anyone leaking mana. 90% that's a master feeding their servant." |
(ok guy's and I know you know im talking to you im going to bed so if I wake up to see three new page's of only you to posting I will be very angry)
|
Rhan followed Maddy to the stairs. He walked calmly and relaxed though. Things are turning quite fast of sudden and its getting to his nerves. He's got plans but it seems he has to cancel it.
"There's one nearby. I'll lead the way. Just relax, we'll get there." he told Maddy when he caught up. "While we're on the plain, I want to sort out a couple of things with you. I want you to listen to me when we get to the plane. Is that clear, Archer?" he added. When they got on the streets, Rhan called up a taxi and asked the driver to take them to the airport. He then took his phone and made a call. The call took up about five minutes. When they got to the airport, Rhan told Maddy "See that guy in a butler suit? He's got us a plane. He's an old friend of my dad.". They approached the guy and the guy assisted them with everything. In just about fifteen minutes they found themselves settled on a private plane. Just the two of them in the cabin. |
Nabadell nodded, "Where should I start?"
"It's a pretty big place... Just go from here to the other end and come back." Raven thought after a moment of thought. "Any place I should explore more thoroughly; schools, coffee shops, public areas?" Nabadell reasoned. "No, just a straight run in spirit form should be fine. I'm going to head to the mansion now, meet me there." "Yes Master." Nabadell said before bowing and heading off after leaving a few coins to pay the bill. Raven watched her leave and sighed, "I could get really used to being called that." A waitress at the counter served a man his bill, which Raven didn't take note of until the man's voice became a tone of alarm, "I knew I had my wallet in my back pocket a second ago! It was attached to my keys, but I still have them... Where could it have gone?" Only then did Raven realize there was a note in the coinage. He picked it out and read it: "Just as a warning, you may want to high-tail it out of there before someone notices their personal items lacking in presence." |
Raven put the note in his pocket and walked out of the building. He took a cab to a street about a block away from the mansion. He went inside and headed for the supply closet. In there he grabbed a few things and headed to a workshop on the second floor.
There he opened a window and grabbed on of the birds sitting in a tree right next to the awning. He took it to his table and placed it in a circle. He cast a couple spells over it, and it flew out the window, towards its assigned destination. He returned downstairs and began examining the basement door, preparing to disarm the trap. |
Two hours had passed before Nabadell swiftly carried her frame over the wooden floors of the mansion. Her hair was down and free flowing, and she looked slightly cumbered by what she had gathered. She was carrying a few things which forced her to hold a material form, and she set a wrapped box as big as she was down by the table by the front door. With a smile that foretold trouble, she ventured about the house until she found her master, “I have a house-warming present for you… sort of… ish.” She spoke softly and with purpose as she led her master to the box.
"Open it!" Raven, confused by assassin's attitude, went to unwrap the box. Assassin stood back and watched, hands together in glee as her Master unwrapped a manikin wearing full Kevlar, “Do you like it?” "Wha-..How di-..." He took a moment to collect his thoughts. "THAT, is expensive, and not easy to come by. Especially the mannequin part...Where and how did you get that?” “Where is unimportant in comparison to how, in my opinion. I took the initiative and ‘borrowed without asking or the intent to return’ someone’s…’Mastercard’? is that what they call it? Anyways, I bought it with that.” Nabadell giggled like a school girl that had gotten kissed by the quarterback of the schools football team. |
The armour was top-quality, better than the canadian military could afford. He wondered who in the city would order this kind of gear. It was thin enough to hide under his clothes without looking bulky and could probably stop most of the guns out there. But, would the other masters be like that?
"Well, I do like it. I just don't know if it'd be useful right now. Anyways," he continued before she could say anything, "I'm ready to disarm the trap, if you'll come with me now." "As you wish." Nabadell said after she recomposed herself. Raven went to the door with his servant at his side. He began working his magic. Raven could feel the wire in his mind, he grabbed onto it. He started lining up the blade to cut it, but he felt something wrong. He felt weaker. His mana started flowing out his circuit uncontrollably, if he didn't cut the flow soon not only would he spring the trap, but assassin would disappear. He started cutting the wire, but it was to late. He had to stop. "Didn't work." He said panting, "We need to leave, now." |
Nabadell didn’t wait to ask if Raven could walk, simply scooping him into her arms and bolting for the front door. With strength summoned from the deepest strongest muscles in her thighs, Nabadell kicked the door open the wrong way, breaking it off its hinges. She set her Master down outside on the sidewalk and went back in for the house warming gift. She meant is as a warming gift, not a ‘something to help your house burn’ gift, and she’d be damned if that’s the way it would go. Once inside, Nabadell saw the fire spread like oil on water, the floors bursting into flames unnaturally fast. Nabadell hugged the armour and sprinted outside as the rest of the house fuelled the already out of control fire. With a mighty leap, she landed beside Raven, set the armour down and sighed.
"Are you alright?" Raven looked at her and the armour. He wondered why she went back for the armour. "Y'know, usually before you commit arson, you get out of the house or throw in a Molotov. Or, one of these wonderful creations." Nabadell said as she held out a grenade looking object she produced from a pocket. Raven's eyes went wide, "Where did you get that?" "I found it in a veteran's house on my city wide stroll." Nadadell said nonchalantly. “You just found a grenade in a house?” Raven asked unbelievingly. “Not just any grenade; A Napalm grenade.” Nabadell corrected. “Are you sure it was a veteran’s house?” “Considering how absolutely paranoid they were with traps? Yes.” Nabadell said as she produced another grenade and placed it in her Master’s hand. “It was a back up plan in case this one failed; which didn’t, thanks to my refusing to allow my house WARMING gift to become a house BURNING gift.” "Let me get this straight, on your way across the city you bought a set of Kevlar armour and stole two Napalm grenades?" Nabadell blinked, slightly confused as to what he was getting at, “Yes?” Raven looked at her and then the grenade in her hand. He thought to himself, "I think I love this woman." Nabadell helped Raven into his armour after explaining it would be easier to carry and less attention-grabbing if he were wearing it instead of her carrying it. “There is an apartment building an hour that way.” Raven said, pointing down a street, “We need to go there.” They began walking to the place he had pointed towards. “Tell me this isn’t going to happen every time we move.” Nabadell said in a distant tone. She sounded legitimately tired. "I..." He stuttered, and turned his head away embarrassed, "I swear I'm a bad-ass..." “Why don’t we call a cab?” Nabadell asked after a few minutes. “Do you have a cell phone?” Raven answered with a question. Nabadell looked defeated. She answered in a small, quiet tone, “No.” “Then we walk.” He sighed and started thinking of their destination. |
"So, while you were out getting armour and explosives, did you happen to feel any masters around?" Raven remembered the entire reason he had sent her away in the first place.
"No. I felt bad because I didn't feel anything at all so I tried making the trip something other than a waste of time. Also... I figured these would please you." Out of another pouch, she withdrew two bottles of NOS. "What're those?" He took one, twisted the tab off. He sniffed it, and it smelled like purple death. "The lady at the store told me that they were energy drinks. I had a feeling we would need some extra energy so I got some." Nabadell opened her pouch for him to see. Her pouch looked unbelivably larger on the inside than out and inside, there were four more NOS energy drinks. She then took out her pot of powder, "Let's just make sure." Raven looked at the powder, and at the drink. "It was factory sealed, and it hasn't leaked." Nabadell opened her mouth as if to argue, but then thought it through and decided against it, "Very well. Would you like me to drink first?" Raven thought about it, and thought, and thought. He had thought of something he wanted to try, but didn't know how it would be recieved. Worst case scenario he'd end up using a command seal, so he decided to go through with it. "I'll taste it, but you can drink it." And before she could do anything to stop him he put some NOS in his mouth, and kissed her. Nabadell was taken off guard and stood there for a long moment before she regained the ability to think again. Raven wasn't the most attractive man, you wouldn't see his face on a magazine, but he wasn't abusive or repulsive which made him decent and she felt towards him. It was why she didn't pull away, instead accepting this treatment. "So, how was it?" he asked her after he pulled away. "Personally I think it tasted great, how many flavours are there?" He said smiling, peering into the bag. Nabadell just stood there, unable to procure a proper response. Raven put the cap back on his drink, and looked at Assassin. He took her hand and they began walking again. |
Nabadell was silent for the rest of the walk, allowing herself to be pulled along as her mind spun out of control. So many things entered her mind to swim in the whirlpool of thoughts, ideas and floundering, broken plans. She thought of her relationship between her and Raven, how if it got romantic, the implications it would have during the war. She thought of her past life and her past love and how the two were faintly similar. Eventually, she forced herself to stop thinking all together. She knew it was dangerous, she was vulnerable when her mind wasn't about her, but it was worse to have her mind drowning in her own thoughts. She let her mind focus on the feeling of her loose hair tickle her face as they walked, the unforgiving pavement under her feet as she stepped, the scent of the air as she breathed, the sight of the setting sun and bustling city life as she gazed, and the indefinable taste of NOS in her mouth. As the hour progressed, Nabadell refocused herself, began walking beside Raven instead of behind him and sent her mind about her once more. She still didn't feel anything around her which made her relax some. Before long, they arrived at the apartment building and entered. It wasn't really an apartment building at all; the inside had been gutted and reconstructed as a mansion in a shell of an apartment building. The idea and plan was truly as brilliant as it looked. Once more, Nabadell found herself taken off guard. She hated it when she was taken off guard.
|
Raven had thought about what he did. Nabadell hadn't spoken once since, she also hadn't tried to kill him. He decided that things like this should be saved for after the war, if they survived. He entered the building with assassin, marvelling at the inside of the building. Why in the world would his teacher make it look this way? How did he make it this way? He let go of her hand and explored the place, he checked for any traps that may have been set, and feeling none he went up to the second floor, then the third. This mansion, as far as he could tell, had very little magic in it. He moved back downstairs, but he could not find any stairs leading to a basement.
"Well, I can't seem to find anything here, and since you couldn't feel any masters around, I think its time I went to see a friend of mine. Stay here or go with me, I won't be back for at least two hours." After he was done speaking he walked out the door. |
Maddy loomed at the big plane she was in. "Uh....." She said this trailing off. She continued looking around. "Wouldnt a regular plane have worked? Nevermind." she stopped looking around and looked out the window. She muttered a small sentence, "Going back home......really sucks." She shrugged lightly to her own comment. She didn't really want to go back but it was her only choice at this point. Maybe she could actually win the war. "This may actually end quiet well for me." She thought. She sighed lightly. She began tapping her seat nervously. Thank god she was sitting actoss from Rhan. He probably would have gotten annoyed quicker. She really wanted to talk to him but wasn't sure how. So, she looked out the window of the creme colored plane, at the deep blue sky. It looked so thick you could take a knife and cut a hole in it. She laughed quietly to herself about that. She probably seemed mad to Rhan but she didn't care.
|
Rhan felt tired of a sudden like he's running out of life. He can feel the weight in his shoulders and wanted to to sleep but he just can't. He hated riding airplanes because it makes him sick. The last time he remember riding a plane was when he was just ten years old.
"A regular plane would've been fine but it will delay us. Stop overs and stuff. This plane will take us straight to Canada. I don't want to waste every precious moment." he said wryly while looking at nowhere. He closed his eyes and sighed. He then looked straight across him. He waited for a while til Maddy looked at him too. As soon as their eyes met, he smirked so as to get her attention. "I think its about time you show me something. Just so at least something to start with? And I'll tell you some of my plans too." he said in a deep calm voice. |
Maddy sighed. "I'll be back then." She got up and went into the bathroom and shut the door. A few seconds later she came pout dressed in camo colored shorts, camo colored one sleeved shirt, and black army boots. She had her hair down and her bow in hands. She adjusted the bag of arrows on her back. "The one downfall is the strap is a little to big." She frowned trying to adjust once more. She looked back up at Rhan. "Satisfied?" She smirked lightly towards him. "Now may I change back, I don't want anyone to walk in and think I'm a terrorist." She nodded knowing she was right. "Minus the fact I can disappear and reappear out of nowhere." She chuckled. "Now, what are some plans that we could discuss?" She looked back towards the cock pit and then regained her focus on Rhan. She sat down next to him, resting her arms on the arm rests after she set the bow down.
|
Rhan felt weird when she saw Maddy came out of the washroom. He thought 'It just doesn't look right. The outfit. Maddy is pretty charming and the outfit is pretty fierce.'. But he decided not to voice his thoughts.
"No don't change yet. Uh, what are the advantages of wearing that? I mean you've got no light armor. Even armguards. Can't you just be on your regular college uniform and materialize your bow and arrow? You're quite lovely with the college uniform." he told Maddy while he smirked. Then he smiled wide. Rhan started discussing a portion of his proposed tactics. "Okay. Since you're a ranged servant, I don't want any other servant or even masters to get near you. How would that be posible? I will fight in the front line and you will be on the farthest or most convinient range to execute your strikes. Would you mind?" |
She nodded. "I do that most of the time....." She shrugged. "But I would prefer you not only because you are the target but I get your tactics." She snapped her fingers and was once more in her uniform. "I don't really have to snap my fingers but it makes me feel magical." She grinned widely. She looked at Rhan and then his watch. "Do you know what time we will be landing Master?" She looked at the watch feeling confused. "That's a complicated watch." She nodded in deep thought. "Uniform? I mean is it not adequate enough?" She thought. She hadn't want to say it out loud since Rhan might get angry. And she isn't want to see him angry.

Lenobia looked at Anita. "Nothing i was just thinking of how i died. but that isn't immportant. we are in a war together and must defest the others. I suggest we work out a stradegy," she said standing up. She was ready for anthing the others had.
"ver well. the question is how do we find the others," she said. It wasn't like there was a scanner to show where the other masters and phantasms were. |
Anita looked at her then said "Alright then, ummmmm where do we start going about this stradegy?" She wanted to know a little bit more but she wasn't going to push if she didn't want to talk about it.
Tally smiled then said "Wel, we could travel around the world and see if we can find anyone, that would be fun and you could see the world." |
"i think we should start looking for others. while we are doing that we can practice. also we need to defend ourselves well. ther eis no telling what is out there," lenobia said.
"sounds like a plan to me Tally," Susan said with a smile. She always wanted to go see the world and now she could do it and more. |
Anita sat and listened then said "So we are going to travel? And fight? What else is there that I have to know abotu this? I mean I get that you are here to help me and all, but with what?" She hadn't gotten that far in the book by the time she stopped and had no idea.
Tally got up then said "Alright the first thing we have to do is decide where we are going first." She went over to a map then said "You get to choose." |
"I know Archer. I told you I'm not much of a fighter. I'm a tactician. But you're ranged and not proficient in melee combat so I hafta take the front line. If you take them from your regular marksman range, each shot will be fatal.". He paused and smiled. Then he continued "So that's it, I hafta fight. Unless we get to find a melee servant and his master who is willing to form an aliance." Rhan looked doubtful about that last few statements. He flipped open his pocket watch and stared at it. Out of the blue he said "Archer, do want to take a look at this pocket watch? " raising it and handing it to Archer. "I got this on my eighteenth birthday. I made it myself. Have you heard of ... " he paused and smiled. "Projection Magecraft?" he added. He thought for a moment and said "Let's see. This is a direct flight and we're heading to vancouver. I assume it'll take approximately fourteen hours. We've been flying for about six hours now and well tap down in about eight hours. I'm gonna suffer from jetlag, I'm sure I will." then he sighed. |
"The Holy Grail war miss Anita. It has been going on for centuries. ever master has one phantasm which they must use to help defest the others. I can't really explain it too good. maybe you should bring the book with us," Lenobia said.
"Well i've always wanted to go to America. We could try their first. it is good since it would take longer to search there" she said. She wuld love to go to america. Scotland was ok but she had heard a bunch of stuff about america. |
She nodded handing the watch back. "Don't worry, there's plenty of hotels there." She smiled proudly at her knowledge of such a place. She looked at him and laughed lightly."Jetlag? Well, that may be a small problem." Maddy shrugged, not wanting to talk anymore. She leaned back against the chaor and closed her eyes. "Oh, and this time, try not to stare at my face to much." Maddy chuckled and relaxed. Eventually she fell asleep.
|
"Oh yeah? Can we make the Gateway Arch as our first stop?" Rhan jested followed by soft giggle. "Well now you're restricting me from staring at your pretty face? Too bad you don't have these command seals, you can't force me to follow you." he said while he smirked. He suddenly noticed a strange sound from beside him. He looked at her over his shoulders and found her asleep and snoring. Rhan can't help but to laugh. He then picked up his pace and took the book from his backpack. He openned it to a page he bookmarked. He began writing a circle and runes using a chalk on the center table of the cabin. "Now let's see if i can do it again." He took a bunch of dark stones from his backpack and held it. He stood on the table inside the circle and breathed deep. He thought 'If I wake Archer and she sees me in this awkward situation, she might laugh at me. Better not make much noise.' Guided by the book he began chanting. The circle began glowing, so as the dark stones. "Magic Circuits, ON. Imagination, ON. Material, Obsidian. Projecting, a Dagger." he closed his eyes and felt the warmth in his body. Inside his mind he projected an image. A dagger to be exact and it is made of Obsidian. It was about six inches short with a hilt bejeweled with an amethyst at the end. "Materialize!" and he felt a weak shock in his hands. He openned his eyes and found a black dagger on his hands. Not pretty much as he projected it in his mind. The amethyst at the hilt did not materialize. But it is made out of Obsidian. He grinned and said aloud "Now I need more practice. Oh, a bigger problem. I need to learn how to use these weapons too.". He went down the table and sat down beside Archer. He placed the dagger on the table and stared at it. Before he knew it, he fell asleep. |
