School/Work

Are you in high school? college? out of school? whats your job?

discuss your education and where you work. :)

Cat Eye 12-13-2011 03:30 PM

College.

I hate it. I want out.

Codette 12-13-2011 04:47 PM

I work. Last year my mom and older sister started their own business, I'm their receptionist/web site designer/ poster ad maker.

The year before I was at a College for Graphic Design and New Media, and the year before that I was a high school senior.
So I have 2 diplomas and a job. I'm really considering maybe finding an online class for floristry. I really want to be a florist, if I ever get out of this job ^.^' I love my family, but I really want to get a new job.

Anaxilea 12-13-2011 04:52 PM

I work at Target, and actually really like it. Next quarter, I'm going back to school to get my culinary degree in pastry arts. I'm still not completely sure how I'm going to juggle the two, but I'll find a way.

Venya 12-13-2011 08:57 PM

I just finished my one class in college with a good grade even. But I hope to get my arts degree one day. otherwise right now I'm not working and just relaxing a little right now.

Bearzy 12-13-2011 09:42 PM

I just finished high school, and now I'm working for a year to make money for university.

Mika Rose 12-13-2011 10:09 PM

I'm a junior in high school.

I know high school is supposed to be the greatest time of your life and all of that, but quite honestly, I hate it. I can't wait to go to college...

Darkness Within 12-14-2011 01:39 AM

I have been in community college, but I just finished what should be my last classes to receive my liberal arts degree. So now I need to find training for a career I want, probably something in I.T since acting is not practical.

lightkanna 12-14-2011 02:04 AM

I don't have a job and I am out of school. There isn't much to say. :)

GypsyDancer 12-14-2011 03:44 AM

I'm a junior in high school. (Eleventh grade.) I have no job, but I'm looking because I'll need gas money and money for an apartment/small house when I go to college since I want to take my dog and I'm moving to a completely different state. But minor job, I babysit and dogsit and do paper work at a doctor's office. So that's some money... not a lot though. Yeah. My school is terrible at organizing, but amazing as far as course offerings. I hope to attend Lipscomb in Tennessee and start with the pre-Pharm program so I can enter the Pharmacy program to earn my doctorate. Currently I'm applying for positions at several clothing stores and restaurants to hopefully end up with a part-time job.

I'm a junior in highschool too, like Mika. :) Except I'm not that interested in college.

Graduated college in December '09 with my Culinary Arts Degree. Currently working in a smaller restaurant in the downtown core, that can seat about 120 people at one time(like I said...small). But that being said, last week(the 5th-10th) we did about 6x more business(roughly $12,000 in food and liquor sales per day) than we did in the last three years(according to the Chef).

Oh culinary arts, that sounds like fun.
Are you aspiring to start your own restaurant someday?

In my last year of university in a bachelor of business. I'm a housewife though I'll be supporting the partner in the business. XD
Even though I'm driven and able to do well, I've decided to be a housewife. A lot of people don't seem to agree with it. >.<

Aw! I hope you do well. I don't see anything wrong with being a housewife, I one day want to be one but I do hope everything goes well. :)

I'm currently in college. I absolutely love it, I've met so many amazing people this year, people that upon meeting I can't imagine not knowing because they've improved my life so much. C: I'm studying media, sociology and psychology.

Arkkath 12-14-2011 05:15 PM

I was in college, taking a break from it right now and working.
I so plan to go back at some point, but money is nice.

I'm in my third and final year at university. BSc Animal Behaviour & Welfare.
I don't have an official job, but i volunteer at the zoo in my hometown, where i help as an 'Care and Education Assistant', which is ace.
I also read tarot cards for people, and do reiki for them. I don't charge, but i still consider it a job.

RavynneSidhe 12-15-2011 06:09 PM

I'm in my first year at community college. I'm eventually going to have to go to the college to see if I can take some required classes since I'm blocked from signing up for them online :s

I'm also a seasonal worker at Old Navy. I love my job even though I don't like the few crazy customers that we get. Nor do I like the customers that like throwing shirts everywhere. But eh..that's life.

RatedE 12-16-2011 12:56 AM

Wow, you all make me feel old. I graduated 2001, went to college, got my AAS (Associates of Applied Science) in computer electronics. Worked for AT&T for a few years, honestly got boring so I quit... Joined the military, hoping not for a tech job, they gave me a tech job :/

oh well, it's still fun

Its a possibility. Either that, or open a catering business. Not sure which yet, I'm still young, and have a whole lot to learn before making a decision.

Lock-e 12-16-2011 02:59 AM

I go to school for software development.

Sir D . L O Van Lobsters 12-16-2011 03:12 AM

Finished high school year before last. Then I hitchhiked with 3 other friends to California. (From New Orleans.)

Came back 6 months later, ever since then I've been working and saving! Holding off college for 5 or 6 years so I can travel and have fun while building up a nice savings. I'm pretty much living my dream at this point.

Of course take your time. :)
Catering could be fun too but it's quite demanding from what I have seen on TV. So I think it quite admirable when people can handle it so well.

Right now, I'm working two jobs. I want to go to school in the spring but can't afford it and can't get loans. I plan on going back to school and finishing my vet degree so I can actually make decent money.
