Heartscape; Where your Quest Awaits ~: Open :~

~: Hello! This is open, so anyone may join. No profiles required, but feel free to PM them to me if you wish. I have only a few rules.
1.) Follow all Mene rules.
2.) Don't start jack for no reason.
3.) Please be mindful of other players in the open atmosphere. Allow me to explain that one. If Billy, Bob, Tommy, and You are talking to each other in game, don't post fourteen billion replies to Bob and Billy while Tommy is afk. It's courteous, is all.
4.) You. Are not. A God.
5.) If there is an issue, please don't fill the thread with 'OOC' talk. It gunks up game flow. Please PM me or the other party involved.
6.) You control YOUR CHARACTER. You cannot make decisions about a character that doesn't belong to you without the owner's consent. I've had problems with this a really long time ago, I'm talking several years, but it irks me.
7.) Have lots of happy fun times :3 This is fun, let it be so <3

Alright, let's get this going. This is where you will find your character when you enter the game :~

Strange. Strange indeed. It was a normal day. As normal as they come, lately. Or it was, anyway.

Suddenly, from no where, a blinding light appeared. It was as powerful as the sun and yet brighter. There was no pain, just blinding confusion as the ground fell from beneath your feet. And yet you did not fall. Suspended, surrounded by light, and confused beyond recognition, you glance this way and that, seeing nothing but swirling colors. Groping through the air, you desperately try to find a solid surface to cling to. Nothing.

But as soon as it started, it is over.

In the next moment, you find yourself on your back, tall, soft grass cushioning your body. What you now see is a forest, vastly different from what you saw before the light appeared.

Sitting on a rock in this forest clearing is a man. He appeared human, but far from normal. He was garbed in the most unusual clothes. His dark hair was shaved close to his head on the sides, but longer on the top, which was all pulled back into a pony tail. He had kind blue eyes and skin the color of fresh cream. He smiled gently and spoke in a light, friendly voice, "Hello. I'm so glad you're here."

~: Imagine his hair like Sokka's almost. That's just what I pictured. And his outfit is here: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...III/128336.png :~

It had been a normal day. A day like any other and Jade Delacroix had been on his way to a small cafe. It was a place he frequented often, just to get away from home. Then it had happened, though Jade wasn't quite sure what it was. Blinding light. Swirling colors. Nothing solid to stand on, nothing solid to grab. Jade was utterly confused. Then 'it' was gone, and he was looking up at the sky, the grass beneath and around him rather soft. That wasn't right though, he had been on a sidewalk, if he passed out he should've been laying on concrete, not grass.

Jade sat up quickly, only now noticing the forest around him. Was he dreaming, or had he hit his head so hard on the concrete it had killed him? Those green eyes filled with uncertainty and he frowned slightly. The blonde hadn't even noticed the man until he spoke. Startled, Jade scrambled to his feet and his gaze found the man rather quickly, eyeing him a bit suspiciously. "W-where am I? Am I dreaming, or have I died?" Jade almost hoped it was the latter, if he were dead, then he wouldn't be waking up and that was fine with him.

The young woman had been frantically moving from book to book as she tried to cast a spell. There was some all important ingredient missing, and Reseda had no idea what it was. One of her two familiars, a tiny little butterfly, fluttered around behind her. Her little dragon was curled around her shoulders as the blond finally sat down in frustration to try and think.

That was when the blinding light showed up. Blinking curiously, the witch examined every part of the swirling light with curiosity as she muttered a wing creation spell. It wasn't really needed though and soon enough the young woman, familiars and all, had fallen into soft grass with a thump. Quickly standing and brushing herself off, the brown eyed woman moved to the other two there. "Excuse me, but would you mind telling me why I'm here? If this is another test so soon after the last one, I'm not doing it." To get a dragon familiar, it had been a very difficult task indeed. Catching her thoughts, the little purple dragon chirruped lightly then nuzzled Reseda's neck, causing her to smile.

Squidie64 12-17-2011 07:26 PM

The man smiled softly again when the male began spouting questions. Before he could answer, though, another arrived and his smile grew. It wasn't evil, though. He didn't radiate negativity or evil in any way. Actually, he radiated a calm and comfort. As if his presence itself made one feel safe.
He slid off the rock and stood before them. Taking a swaggering step of two forward, he brushed off the long, green skirt he wore and crossed his arms gently over his chest. "Relax. You aren't dead. You're very much alive, but you are not dreaming, either." He looked toward the young woman and her companions and frowned a little, "Such negativity harms the heart, my dear. You're here for a test. So you have a choice now. Cooperate and complete this quest. Or. You can refuse. Keep in mind, if you refuse, terrible things will happen." It might have been a threat, but he didn't make it sound that way. It was said somberly, as if he were disappointed. His smile returned, though, and he rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet, "SO! ..What's it to be then?"

PapillonCameo 12-17-2011 11:38 PM

Rolling her eyes a little at the reprimand, Reseda shrugged as she crossed her arms. So be it, she would cooperate and hope that things went well. It wasn't like she had much of a choice. "Very well, I suppose there's no other choice." Glancing from the strange man, to the blond standing near her, Reseda tried very hard not to look a little disappointed. Usually the tests she went to were big affairs, attended by many and with great pomp. This little affair ... She didn't hold much hope in it being of great use. The blue butterfly flitted around quickly with Reseda's anxiety and impatience.

Kry 12-18-2011 05:12 AM

Jade jumped slightly at the arrival of another person. He eyed her with suspicion and eyed her dragon rather skeptically. Dragons weren't real. Jade's attention quickly returned to the man. He wasn't dead and he wasn't dreaming? It had to be one or the other. Jade stood there silently as the man spoke with the woman, about tests and quests and terrible consequences. "So...If I do this quest are you going to send me home?" The strange man seemed to radiate calm and comfort, Jade involuntarily took a step or two closer to the strange fellow. "What exactly are the terrible consequences of refusing?" He had shoved his hands in his pockets. Still fairly convinced that he was dreaming.

Squidie64 12-18-2011 06:16 AM

He smiled to the blonde male and nodded, "Of course I will send you home. Unless, of course, you decide to stay. It is up to you." He paused a moment and looked away from them. He turned and walked back to the rock he had been sitting on before and gracefully sat down. He looked to each of them and took a slow breath, "It is different for each person, but from what I gather, your heart will die. Your body and soul shall live on, but your heart will die, leaving you empty and cold. A shell of your former self. ....At least, that's what I gather."

PapillonCameo 12-18-2011 06:26 AM

The young woman shuddered at the description of what would happen. She dared not refuse now after hearing that. "So what must we do on this quest? And who are you?" Did he actually have a legitimate right to be administering this test in the first place? Reseda wasn't quite sure, though he seemed to be quite confident with himself. An aura of calm comfort surrounded him, though that wasn't necessarily an indication of him being good. Not to Reseda anyway. All she wanted to do, in truth, was find a way to finish this quickly so she could return to her home and finish her spellwork.

Kry 12-18-2011 06:34 AM

Jade kicked a clump of grass up. "So, If I do the quest, I can choose to stay here in this dream?" Of course he was dreaming, there was no other explanation for such a thing. He glanced at the girl, she was taking things rather easily, then again, she had a dragon. She must also be a part of this really strange dream. He had probably hit his head so hard he was in a coma, well that was just fine with him. The consequences for not doing the quest didn't seem to bad either. "That's not a very frightening consequence. Most people are heartless shells of their former selves already. If I don't do the quest, will I still be returned home?" Jade glanced at the woman again, she was so quick to agree to these things. In Jade's opinion it was foolish to blindly agree to something.

PapillonCameo 12-18-2011 05:59 PM

Turning her head to look at the green eyed man in shock, Reseda tried not to let the words tumbling trough her head jump out. They did anyway. "You obviously don't realize that this is real. And that losing your heart is no trivial thing, I'd agree if I were you." Ruefully shaking her head, the blond sat down in the grass. Leaning an elbow on her knee, Reseda was trying to think of what this quest would be. Probably something incredibly difficult, since you had to participate.

Squidie64 12-19-2011 08:05 AM

He looked quite pleased when she asked who he was, "I thought you'd never ask!" He hopped to his feet and gave both of them a dramatic bow, "My name is Griffin. I am.....well, I'm me. ...And... ....Yes." He stood up straight and smiled broadly. He frowned deeply at the male's response. He sighed heavily and crossed his arms, "It's not a dream. You're not dreaming. If you were, I'd wake your ass the hell up and tell you to get moving on your damn quest, already. I ain't got all day. Secondly, no. If you don't do the damn quest, you can't go home. You can rot for eternity in the Black City. Have fun with that. The leader of the Black City likes to maim and torture people when he's bored." He looked to the female, whom seemed much more compliant, "You ready to go, sweetheart?" Suddenly, Griffin didn't seem like such a cool dude. He lost his calm, comforting nature for a much more bite-y one.

A disturbance in the trees tore Griffin's attention away from them. Two females darted out of the trees. One was lavishly dressed in a renaissance style gown. It was adorned with expensive, tasteful lace and pearls. Her black hair was done up in a fancy bun with braids weaving in and out of it. The other was dressed similarly to Griffin, except that her skirt was red. Her hair was strawberry blonde and pulled back into a long, fishtail braid. She looked out of breath and when they made it to the clearing, she braced her hands on her knees and panted, "Sorry, Griffin!-pant- Sorry! That one's mine! ...Phew! ...Wow. For a princess-pant-...you sure can run fast!"

Kry 12-19-2011 08:26 AM

Jade waved a hand slightly. "Right. Well, excuse me for clarifying some important details before blindly accepting some unknown quest in some odd not-dream world." Jade hadn't liked the way the man had spoken to him, but he shrugged it off. His father was much worse. "I guess I'll do the quest then...but...when it's over, I don't wanna go back home. As long as I have a choice in that." He licked his lips to moisten them, glancing at the girl with the dragon. "This has to be a dream, because dragons aren't real." He said that rather matter-of-factly, though quickly his attention was captured by the two running females. He blinked and just watched them curiously.

PapillonCameo 12-19-2011 08:33 AM

Mumbling to herself about show offs, Reseda didn't at first notice the women running towards them. Lifting her head, she rolled her eyes a little before walking to stand beside Griffin. "Dragons are real, they just don't like being seen by regular people." This was addressed the disbelieving blond male. Of course the rebuke came with a brown eyed glare and a pair of crossed arms aimed in his direction.

Squidie64 12-19-2011 08:55 AM

Griffin nodded to the female dressed like himself. He looked to the other and watched her stumble over to the snippy male. He looked to the female with the dragon and gave her a once over, "I haven't had good experiences with dragons. Promise me that you'll keep it under control while I escort you on your quest."

"That's an understatement, if I ever heard one. It nearly swallowed you and your less than attractive hair-do was the result." The young woman with the red skirt looked much more battle-ready than Griffin. She had two hatchets strapped to each of her hips, knives lining her belt, and a bow with a quiver full of arrows on her back. She looked to the 'princess' and sighed, "C'mon. We've got a quest to get done and over with. Let's go."

The lavishly dressed young woman gripped the blonde male's arm in her slender hands, "Please! You must help! This....this...harpy! Kidnapped me! I swear, I will give you anything you wish! Money, power! Anything!"

Kry 12-19-2011 09:49 AM

Jade tensed, blinked and stared at the girl gripping his arm. "...What..?" He glanced at the other female that was dressed similiar to Griffin, then back at the woman hanging on his arm. "I don't think I can help you though. I was unexpectedly brought here as well. Besides, I have money and my father has power. Could you please let go of me now?" He gave the lavishly dressed female a reassuring smile. "Who knows, this might be fun. It's probably better to just go along with these people, for a little while at least. Until we understand more about the situation." Jade flashed Griffin an almost friendly smile, that same smile given to the girl with the dragon, and the girl that was friends with Griffin.

PapillonCameo 12-20-2011 04:40 AM

The dragon on Reseda's shoulder flamed in Giffins direction before the young woman shushed it quietly. Turning to the man, she smiled a little. "Don't worry, she won't hurt you. Not unless you get me angry." The last part was directed at everyone one in a way, as Reseda ran her brown eyes over the little group. She was scoffing inwardly about the princess's behavior. Really now, why did that woman even get this chance? Because it was a chance, an opportunity, of that Reseda was fairly certain.

CrimsonShadow 12-20-2011 07:38 AM

Hearing a knock on her door Alice stood up from her desk and opened it. "You have a new assignment. Go find Griffin and help him protect those on their quests." After nodding her agreement the person walked away leaving ALice alone once more. Turning back to her room she grabbed her weapons and strapped them on. Her bow and quiver was strapped to her back, twin daggers attached to her thighs. More small throwing daggers pinned through out her hair and her staff folded in half and tucked in her right boot.

Making sure she didn't need anything else Alice spun on her heel and ran out of her room. She made her way to the forest and began running. As she ran she made chirping noises, asking the birds to find Griffin for her. Talking to animals always came in handy for her. Soon she had the information she needed. With the grace of an elf Alice made her way quickly through the forest. When she finally reached the clearing where everyone was paused before making her presence known. She took a second to take everything in before she finally stepped out of the tree line. Her waist length wavy pale blonde hair was pulled to the side in a intricate braid. She was wearing exactly what Griffin was wearing only her skirt was red like the other protector. Her striking green eyes roamed each face as she walked forward. "Griffin," she said in a voice that rang like bells. "They sent me to help so here I am."

Squidie64 12-20-2011 08:20 AM

Griffin looked to his female counter part and sighed, "Knock it off, Charlie. If she doesn't want to go, then don't force her. This is why, after these few hundred years, you still have a red skirt. Drop her in the Black City and be done with it." He looked, then, to the young woman with the dragon. He arched a brow at her response, then shrugged, "Fair enough, but I cannot promise that I will not unintentionally upset you. ..Tis my nature." And finally, he turned to the newcomer. He bowed his head to her in response to what she had said, "Excellent. I can always use the help."

Charlie pouted and crossed her arms, waiting for the princess to make a decision. She nodded to Alice when she arrived and gave a small smile. It was always nice to see another Soldier.

The 'princess' pouted and gave a heavy sigh. If he was powerless to help her, too, where would she turn? She didn't want to 'go along with it', as he said. She let him go when he asked her to and took a few small steps away. She turned to Griffin and the others and took a half step behind the male she had gone to for help. She didn't know what else to do.

Kry 12-20-2011 08:41 AM

In Jade's eyes, the lavishly dressed female did look the way he imagined a princess might. He blinked and stared at Griffin for a few moments though, just watching that man. Jade had already decided he couldn't trust that man, but that wasn't anything unusual for Jade. The blonde just didn't trust other men easily. The girl Griffin called Charlie could probably be trusted, and the woman with the dragon. Maybe. She seemed a little..Jade wasn't really sure. He shook his head slightly and then another woman had approached. He watched her for a moment and decided almost instantly that he could trust her more than he could Griffin. He turned his head slightly to look at the princess who had moved behind him. "Don't worry, I might not be able to help very much, but I won't let anyone hurt you." The girl was obviously scared, and Jade was still just a bit freaked out about this himself, it helped to think of it as only a dream.

CrimsonShadow 12-20-2011 05:02 PM

Stepping closer to Charlie, Alice bumped her softly with her shoulder. "This shall be interesting." She whispered to her fellow Soldier. Then stepping away from Charlie she looked around. Walking forward she circled around everyone, assessing them. The witch was strong, but she could pose a problem to the group though maybe not. The human man seemed harmless enough and a gentlemen. Now the Princess..Charlie was going to have her work cut out for her with that one. Coming back around to stand near Griffin she smiled softly. "I'm Alice may I have your names?" She asked of the three on the quest.

PapillonCameo 12-21-2011 06:29 PM

To say this was going to be interesting was an understatement. Standing still as the newredskirted female examined everyone, Reseda spoke up quickly as she asked for their names. "Reseda, and I'm a witch. This isn't my first quest, though it is the first of this type." Being ripped from her world without warning and brought to another ... That had never happened before. Hopefully it wouldn't happen again! This was just a little more disorientation then the blond cared for.

Squidie64 01-10-2012 04:33 AM

Griffin moved back to his rock and sat down. He took a moment to examine the small group. He glanced to the soldiers and gave a small nod. He would appreciate the help from Alice and he figured he owed it to Charlie to give her a hand with her own charge. She had been a big help with the dragon, after all.

Charlie breathed a small laugh when Alice commented that things would be interesting, "Indeed," her thumbs hooked behind her belt buckle. She watched the princess carefully. She was going to be a pain in the ass, at best.

She was grateful to the male for promising her safety and muttered a thank you. Her eyes whipped up to Alice when she asked for names, With a careful breath, she squeaked out, "Ivy."

~: Sorry it took so long :( But I finally posted! :D :~

PapillonCameo 01-10-2012 04:46 AM

Watching as Griffin moved to sit, Reseda tilted her head to the side. Her dragon slithered from her shoulder, gliding gracefully to the ground. He grew in size, this amethyst king, till his head could rest against his mistresses shoulder. The two of them looked at each other, before nodding silently. This was going to be a serious test, and no whiny princess would slow them down. "So tell me, when do we set off?" The two red skirted females seemed quite competent, so Priscilla addressed herself to them with a small smile while placing a hand upon her dragon's shoulder.

Kry 01-10-2012 06:21 AM

"...Jade." He offered when the others introduced themselves and what not. He watched Ivy for a moment, then stared at Reseda as her dragon grew. Eyes wide, and mouth hanging open just the slightest bit. It was impossible that this was not a dream. Jade closed that mouth and shook his head slightly. Dream or not, it didn't really matter. Whatever this was, apparently he was far from home and that alone suited him just fine. He ran a hand through his hair, watching Griffin now as Reseda asked that question.

CrimsonShadow 01-10-2012 08:28 AM

Nodding Alice bowed her head politely to the witch. "It's nice to meet you Reseda and hopefully you last, no?" She gave her a smile before turning to Ivy and Jade, giving them both the same bow with her head. "Ivy, Jade it's nice to meet you both. Oh and Ivy don't worry Charlie doesn't bite...much." Chuckling she clasped her hands behind her back. Hearing Reseda's question and noticing that it was directed to her and Charlie she shrugged. "I just got here so I have no clue." Hearing something the blonde cocked her head to the side and listened. A soft smile spread across her face and she chirped back to the birds, sounding just like one. They told her to be weary of the dragon and to not let it eat any of them. Of course she told them she wouldn't.
