Worst Neighbor?

I had this neighbor many years ago that lived right next to me, her yard should have been considered either a landfill, a small forest, or a combination of the two. She most likely was a hoarder but was nasty, vile, and down-right mean to everyone and anyone, even when she had gone on one of her tirades.

There was nothing any authorities could do, or rather refused to do -- even when she went after people with knives and stuff, the worst thing she got was a slap on the wrist and told to go home. There were so many complaints against her that were ignored, that people started to stop trying and many moved away because they didn't want to deal with her.

So far that's my worst neighbor, I don't know if she's still there or not. What's your worst neighbor?

My one neighbor used to always yell any swear word you could think of at my sister and I and our friends over our six foot tall privacy fence. Mind you, we keep to ourselves and are pretty quiet. So one day I got pissed off because he was running his mouth and went over there and told him if he had a problem he can tell me to my face rather than running his mouth all the time like he did. I told him if he didn't shut up I'd call the cops since I really did not want to hear him swearing all the time, not to mention there's a small kid that lives next door that can hear that too. After I said I'd call the cops he threatened to shoot me if I didn't get off his property to which i told him I didn't care since he'd be the one rotting in jail without his booze. Ever since then he doesn't yell as much but every now and then he randomly swears although it's not directed at us at least not that I know of.

My other neighbor on the other side of me is a "Good catholic" and harasses me about being gay and tells me how "god will forgive" me if I stop being gay. I live with my girlfriend and it's irritating to say the least.

Other than that and the occasional church goer that tries to get me to go to the church across the street from me, my neighborhood is okay.

We once had a downstairs neighbor that always yelled at mother on how load we were. I mean we were just kids. we wanted nothing else but fun. He was a old crotchety old man who also yelled at us whenever we went to our home.

My neighbor's keep to themselves for the most part, but one guy tried to rip off my mom. He wanted to buy my dad's old truck and at first we agreed to sell it. He promised us he would pay $100 at a time. Then he tried to take the truck before even giving us the first payment. Mom told him he couldn't take it until he gave us a few payments. We never heard back from him and we ended up selling the truck to someone else.

We know he would have tried to get out of paying for it, too. We talked to the woman across the street and she said her husband sold the guy a chainsaw. He made the mistake of just letting him take it before getting all the money. The guy kept telling him to go to his father for the money, but he put his foot down and makes him pay for the chainsaw himself.

My old neighborhood was just fine other then that one lady, now I hardly have to worry about anyone. Then again, I only talk to two neighbors and they are pretty nice.

I've never had a terrible neighbor that I can remember. I've lived in apartments
my whole life and people just keep to themselves mostly. :d
However, we'll be moving to a house in February and I hope we have good neighbors.. D:

I've never had bad neighbours, exactly. Just weird ones. In my last house there was this weird couple who lived next door, and the guy was always working on stuff in the shed, then one day the woman locked him in there. So strange. xD

I also had a nosey neighbour who liked to point out I was a waste of space and the one time I had a party at my house, she told my parents the next morning that she was too scared to ask us to be more quiet because she thought i'd stab her. Seriously. :/

I've lived in apartments most of my life, and we pretty much always had really noisy neighbors. When my family was living in town houses, we had this lady that lived next to us who had a few kids that would consistently run up and down the stairs all day long >.> It was so obnoxious, but we finally moved into some better apartments with neighbors who keep to themselves. We hear them every now and then, but what you hear is understandable anyways.

Though now I'm going to school at Job Corps, and live in dorms, and when you live in one building with about 40 other girls, there is bound to be a LOT of issues with noise and whatnot. The girls (well I should say girl now, since her twin sister got termed or something like that) blast their music almost all day long, and all night. Every time I asked 'em to turn down their music (since I could CLEARLY hear it), they just yelled at me <.<. Is it a bad thing to want to get a good night's sleep when you have to get up at 5 a.m. three days outta the week (which is an hour and a half earlier than the standard wake up time) to go to work??? Also girls in the dorm will run up and down the hallway, and shout at each other until past 11. I try to tolerate it, but that doesn't always work *bangs head*

When I lived in Connecticut, I had pretty nice neighbors. There was this nasty old couple down the street but I only had two run ins with them before I moved to North Carolina. The house next to us was vacant and the house across the street had 2 families live there before we once again moved. The first family were okay, except when the husband/boyfriend/random guy started working on his trucks at 3 AM and make loud noises. It was obnoxious. I'm glad they moved. The other family were cool beans, made friends with the son [then he moved! </3].

Now I'm in my new house and our neighbors rock. He's really really awesome. He alerts us about neighborhood problems, offers to mow our lawn when our mower is broken, and others. Great guy, best neighbor one could ask for. His wife is a race driver, and whenever she wants to start her car and do stuff to it, they always let us know ahead of time out of courtesy, in case we're doing something that requires quiet or something.

I hope he never moves!

When I was a kid I used to hang out with the other kids in my neighborhood.. that was about it... Now that We're all between 17-25 we don't socialize with each other anymore, actually no one in my neighborhood actually socializes with each other. Passing hello's and goodbyes and hows the family's.... Passing politeness, thats about it....

Peeblo 12-23-2011 04:58 PM

Afrodonkey is such an awful neighbor. All he ever does is bork my stuff! I once tried to burn his place down, but all he did was smile and wiggle his butt at me. Such a creep.

Codette 12-23-2011 05:16 PM

aww poor Peeblo! *hugs*

I'm the worst neighbor, I nail stuff to the walls at midnight and totally think I'm better than all the other low income people living round here. D<

I live in a trailer park where the trailers are pretty close together. My current neighbors are jerks. On top of having their trailer look like something straight from a Jeff Foxworthy joke, they play the same bass music as loud as they can.

I don't care what people do in their own homes but when I can hear it through 2 walls of paneling, with my tv on, with my pc in front of me, talking to my friends on teamspeak while playing a game, it is way too loud! The cops can't do anything because soon as they see a cop car, they turn it down and say, "Oh, we weren't playing music." and their is no proof.

Then a while back when me and friend were about to pull out, one of our kitties got out and before I could get out to get it, someone next door threw a rock at it. It missed, lucky for him or I would have beat him within an inch of his life. But then they let there dog out all the time and it tears up our trash and scared my kitty (when he was still around). They don't even take care of it properly, or feed there dog regularly.

We've told the landlord who owns the lot and he said if they give us any more trouble tell him and they would either stop it, or get kicked out. I'm hoping kicked out. But I hope there dog gets taken to a good home someday. :/

In Florida, I lived in an apartment building. My next door neighbor that shared a wall with me was always playing Rock Band in the middle of the night. He was a cop and he usually did it on a weekday night. He also liked to throw parties at his house at least once a week. They would keep their doors open and blast music through them. They left their beer cans all over their balcony. It was especially annoying when I had to park two buildings down from my own because there were limited parking spaces to begin with (2 per apartment) and he was having a party. I'd be taking my daughter and all my groceries (It always seemed to fall on those days when I had ice cream in the car), carrying everything an extra two buildings over and then up three flights of stairs in 100+ degree weather. And then having to do that multiple times... Only to not be able to sleep until 4 a.m. on a Tuesday.

Now I live in San Diego in a Military Housing district. They're townhomes. My house actually has shared walls on both sides. Only one of my neighbors is a pest though. He likes to work on his car in his garage really late at night. He plays his music really loud and then revs his engine alot. He also has a baby... which he tends to wake up with all of his noise. His wife is usually down there with him and neither of them seem to hear their baby screaming. It's heartbreaking. But they are friends with the county police and the Military police in the area.

I don't know why I am seem to constantly live next to law enforcement who don't care about disturbing the peace.

my worst neighbors in the apartment building I currently live in would be the down stairs people who blamed the water leaks on us. Because of them, we're afraid of getting sued, so we've shut off the water that comes to our rooms and only turn them on when necessary. The janitors won't come fix this either, and we've been living without constant running water for about a month. The neighbors also have random visitors who press the intercom randomly and disturb everyone. :/

I've had some EXCELLENT neighbors in the apartments where we live. XD

The first neighbor was loud, obnoxious, 50 year old rocker type who would make all kinds of noise late at night. He'd stomp, blast his radio starting at 4am and turn it off just when our alarm would go off before we went to work. He had his daughter's boyfriend stay over for awhile and they were loud, spitting everywhere, throwing cigarette butts into our patio, we even caught them smoking weed in the parking lot! @[email protected] We had it and moved to a bigger apartment to get away from him.

BUT IT GETS WORSE!

Things are great for about 6 months. We have a quiet neighbor with a dog. She's friendly and goes out to walk her dog constantly. Always waving, saying "Hi", we never have any issues. One day in June we get a noise complaint taped to our door. We're like, "huh? Well, I guess I won't be running the dryer at 9 am again."

The next morning at 7am (it was the weekend and we were happilly sleeping in), our neighbor came pounding on the door with crazed eyes telling us that the arguing needs to stop. But we've never argued once or fought, or even had a major disagreement of any sort since we've met! @[email protected] We insisted that it wasn't us, but she didn't believe us.

Weird.

Next morning at 7am, again, the weekend... the police come pounding on our door asking if everything is okay. It was until they showed up! @[email protected] We went to the police station a few hours later and filed a counter claim. The next night, more police visited, even though we had the address flagged for unsubstantiated claims. We talk to the apartment management to let them know what's up. Apparently we also found out that she had done the same thing to the last people who lived there!

Turns out, she was BONKERS or something. She was probably adamant about not having any neighbors. But when she found out that we were fighting back, she decided not to renew her lease and she moved out.

So I'm waiting to see who moves in now. XD

I've been fortunate to live next to relatively pleasant people my whole life. However I know someone who had pretty feral people living behind them, such that they'd climb over the back fence onto the top of the shelf, and apparently they'd burn things all the time, like their back door for example....

lightkanna 12-30-2011 08:40 AM

The only complaint I have about my use to be neighbors and the one before them, were they're Mexicans and putting their music loudly at 5 or 6AM. In the morning, when I am trying to sleep, why are you putting your music on? It's uncertain when they will do it and they even do it at night, when I am trying to go to bed. It's completely ridiculous and annoying. They even light a bon-fire and just smoke, drink and gossip there all night long with their music blaring loudly as if they're the only one alive. =.= Now my new neighbors who happens to be our landlord daughters have little kids living with them, yelling out ridiculous swearing words and not giving a crap. (They got pregnant in their teens, they're still in their teens, and they have kids) Always having some sort of cop or probation cop over there. D; It's nerve-wrecking.
