Prayer Answered [IndigoKitsune & HarukiAi]
This is a private roleplay Blah, Blah, blah...You know the rules just follow them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The sun had barely begun to rise when Ezra was entering the temple. The temple was glowing softly when he walked in. He was the first to arrive like usual. His counterparts were sure to be behind him shortly. He made his way to the alter to lay his offering before he began his morning prayer. He lied them down upon the offering table before taking his place at the alter. He knelled down hanging his head. His black hair covering his face. He was praying for safety of his people and for all the normal things a human would. [Sorry if it's short & what-not it's late and my brain doesn't want to be up.] |
(( ^_^ Its fine.)
A golden light appeared on the appeared on the altar, and in the light there was a woman. Within moment, the light faded and the goddess was left looking at Ezra. She pushed back her brown her, that was filled with flowers and vines, she was a thin but strong women dressed in a green dress trimmed in brown, with a bow and arrow on her back. Indeed this was Aziel, the goddess of the earth, rivers, and lakes. She looked down at Ezra, from where she sat on the altar consuming his offering and hearing his words. She stayed still for a moment, before stepping down form the altar and placing her hands on Ezra’s head. “My dear priest, all I can promise you is a good harvest, good hunting, and that the water that your people depend on will not dry up this year.” |
Ezra had been deep in his prayer mumbling to himself under his breath. His head had been bowed, eyes closed, mind concentrated to have noticed what was happening only a few feet away. He jumped at the touch of someone else and he looked up through his black hair. He couldn't believe what he was seeing his emerald eyes widen as he fell back on to the ground. His cloak spilled open and he fumbled to scramble back. "Who...H-how?" He asked in utter confusion at first then he scrambled to get to his knees placing his forehead to the ground. "Please forgive me." He knew he must have seem rude to have acted as such in front of a Goddess.
[ :D Good. ] |
(( Good morning. ))
Seeing that she had startled Ezra Azilel smiled and approached him, and siting down she put a hand on his shoulder “Ezra, do you know who I am?” She knew that he probably wouldn’t know who she was. After all as a goddess she was still very young, her mother was the goddess of a forest and her father was a water god. “My dear Ezra, you are forgiven, but do you know who I am?” She repeated her words his a kind and forgiving voice smiling as she spoke. She took a flower from her hair and using one of her vines tied it in Ezra's hair. "Your have nothing to be afraid of, I have been watching you, dear Ezra, you have nothing but respect for the gods and your fellow man." She lifted his head and kissed his cheek. "Don' t be afraid, Ezra." |
Ezra kept his head touching the ground not wanting to lift it to meet the Goddess's gaze before him. He didn't know who she was, but he knew that she had answered him making her a very kind Goddess. He had never been answered like this before it was always a subtle sign. "N-no, I do not know who you are, forgive me." He said clearly. He didn't want to seem like a bad follower for not knowing who she may be. He peeked up through his black hair when he felt her placing something into his hair. He caught the glimpse of the flower out of the corner of his eyes. Ezra looked off trying to to make eye contact when she lifted his head more than he had it already. "I'm not afraid; I feel as if I do not deserve such treatment from you. Surely there are people who deserve this more than I." He said softly because he was in shock from the kiss she had given him.
[Good morning lol, sorry it's so late. I've been working my life away these last few days, but I should be one a little more often now.] |
(( That is ok, some times that is just what happens.))
Azile pressed a finger to Ezra’s lips. “Stop apologizing my dear Ezra, and stand up.” Azile stood up waiting for the Ezra to do the same. “It is true, that there is probably some one more deserving of my presents then you are, but my dear priest, you are the one who was prying in my father’s temple.” She pointed out the icon of the god above the altar, and smiled at Ezra, she had no reason to tell him that she had used his pray as a pretext for running away from home. After all she didn’t want to marry the man that her father had chosen for her, but how was she to know, that that man was the priest Ezara? She looked down at him smiling softly. “I thought I commanded you to stand up, please do, I have been watching you’re for some time now and you are a kind and honorable man who clearly loves the gods.” |
How could he possibly stop apologizing? He didn't deserve anything that was happening and who was he to take up the time of a Goddess? He was nothing, but a lowly priest. He stood up reluctantly, but he never raised his head to look at her. He kept his eyes on the ground as she talked to him. He knew the icon that she spoke of without having to look up at it. He had been praying in this temple for a good portion of his life. "I'm still undeserving of this. Surely another priest is worthy than I am." He didn't think that he was meant for such things. "You're too kind to me. I am not as great as you may think." He had his mistakes and flaws that made him less worthy of such compliments.

Azile cupped Ezra’s face in her hands and looked into his eyes. "Yes you are unworthy, but come with me." She smiled softly. "Most people are still sleeping, but here you are praying and showing your devolution, to the god of the temple." she took her hands away form his face and kissed his cheek a second time. "Come with me to the newly planted field of grain in your village, and I will show you and you alone my power." She smiled and took Ezar's hand, before she started to walk, out into the village. "My dear Ezra, see the power of a god and do not be afraid."
|
[You didn't have to shorten it; I've just been busy with work and other things]
Ezra did not understand why this Goddess insisted on showing him so much. He was nothing but a lowly priest and he meant very little in the grander scheme of things. "That doesn't mean that they do not care for the Gods. They have plenty of devotion." He said as he castes his eyes down as he uttered the words. He looked back up quickly, but threw his eyes down. He was extremely confused as to why she showed him so much affection for just praying in the temple. "Okay..." He said questionably, but rose to his feet to follow her as she walked out of the temple. "Should you really be doing such a thing?" He asked hesitantly. |
(( Oh, I will keep that in mind, I guess I thought that I over did it.))
Azile smiled and took Ezra’s hand. “My dear priest, I am sure that they do. But even a humble man, shouldn’t think so little of himself. If you look me in the eye, you will not burst into flames or die in some other way.” She walked out to the grain field, when they got there she turned to Ezra. “I am showing this to you, because I want too.” She lifted her hands over the newly planted grain field, within moments green stouts came out of the ground, and soon those same stouts became tall stacks of grain, the heads of which were busting with sees. Azile moved closer to Ezra collapsing against him. “Priest, take me into the woods and dig a hole for me to rest in.” She looked into his eyes as she said this. “After all my power comes from the earth.” She closed her eyes, hoping that Ezra would do as she had commanded him too, after all even if she was a goddess preforming a miracle like that took a lot out of her. She looked into his eyes and put an arm around his shoulder. “Ezra, I want you to do this, before anyone sees us.” |
[Nah, I'd have told you if you over did it, which would take a lot of writing to do anyway lol.]
It was a thing of habit not to look into someone of a high status than his eyes. He would not want to come off as rude to someone such as God or Goddess. He, who has spent so much time in the temples, could not bring himself to such an action. "I do not think your gaze would do such things as harm or kill me. I merely would not want to be so rude as to stare upon a Goddess such as yourself." He might be left dumbstruck from such an action or he would not be able to remove his eyes from her. He looked up with a puzzled look watching her as she lifted her hands. He turned to look out into the fields as the plants in them began to grow before his eyes. "You should not do such things for me." He said in shock. He caught her in his arms as she slumped in against him. He looked down at her listening to her words with a slight air of confusion. He did not know what this might do for her, but he would do it regardless of such things. He picked her up into his arms and began to carry her into the woods were she wanted him to take her. Ezra lied her against a tree before set out to find the instruments needed to dig the hole he would require. He returned to her with the shovel he needed after a few minutes. He pushed it into the soft soil of the earth and began to shovel out the soil, creating a hole for her. It took him longer than he had expected to dig the hole, but once he was finished he went back to Azile and picked her up carrying her to the hole. He lowered her into it placing softly onto the soil below. He hesitantly began to cover her int he soil her had displaced to create the hole for her covering her slowly until she was completely cover with soil. Once he completely his task he pushed himself over to the nearest tree to rest against, but resting turned into sleeping as his eyes closed slowly as he drifted into a sleep. |
Azile at Ezra, it seemed to her that the priest would do whatever she asked of him. Seeing Ezra resting she smiled and relaxed in the soil. She could feel all of the life in the soil, flowing into her body and returning her power to her. She wished that Ezra had stayed awake, but she could see that the task she had given him, had worn him out. She closed her eyes; soon she would have to explain to him why she had to rest in the earth some times. But, she also believed that he was right, he wasn’t worth of seeing her power. However she was very interested in Ezra and could see the honesty and sincerity in his heart, something she believed to be lacking in most humans. Besides, she also wanted to use him in order to hide from her father and his wishes for her. To think that her father the king of all of the gods, wanted to marry a mortal man, one he had handpicked for her. If she was going to marry anyone, she wanted to seek out a fellow god, someone who wasn’t subject to death and aging. She kept her eyes on Ezra a little longer before drifting off to sleep; at least she would be able to use him to her own ends, while avoiding her father’s wishes.
While Ezra was sleeping, the king of the gods came to him, in his dream. “Ezra, since you were a child, you have served the gods faithfully, and prayed with a sincere and honest heart.” The god smiled at Ezra and looked into his eyes while he spoke to him. “There are good men and women around you as well, with many different kinds of devotions, to the gods. But there are also those who have desecrated temples, and done wicked things in the eyes of the gods.” The king of the gods, brushed back a strained of golden hair. “My Azile ran away from me, but even my dear Azile can’t run away from her fate." The king of the gods smiled at Ezra and in the dream, he put a hand on his shoulder. You will marry and care for Azile, and she in turn will perform grate signs and wonders, for your eyes and anyone who will come.” The king of the gods made sure that he was looking directly to Ezra’s eyes. “I give my child to you, whom I deem worthy of sharing your life with her.” |
