So Vince and I being able to be anywhere alone together is a big no-no in his book and that isn't even everything. The only way I could get Vince to go to my prom was to have everything paid for and have a ride for him, and a parent had to be home, which I understand but they way that his parents put it made it seem like my little brothers and I are always left home alone.

well having you there with them would be the perfect supervision
plus they will get to know and love you better.

I doubt that they will ever grow to love me seeing as that as soon as my fiancée and I get our own place there is going to be basically no contact with them. They only person that we both can stand out of his whole family is his youngest sister, but she is even beginning to slightly change.

Yeah, I joined the Navy when I was 17 just so I could get away form my mother 6 months sooner.

My fiancée is (was?) thinking on joining something or another because the step-loser is pushing him that way simply because he wants my fiancée out of the house without doing anything to help.

Well, if he joins the Navy, you guys should get married before he goes to Great Lakes and, if he has the option, avoid 7th Fleet. Try to get orders in San Diego, if you can.
