*sigh* Talking with your step son who is used to being allowed to watch Rooster Teeth and play rated M games and telling him that he can't do those things anymore is really hard. Dx Now he hates me. Partly cause his mom let him do that so I think he thinks she ruined him by letting him do those things. >< Which is not what I meant at all. And I never said he was ruined. I just have the viewpoint that kids under the age of 16 really shouldn't do that.

Ah. Definitely too young then. He'd probably be okay to watch some of the RT stuff, but not most of it. Or the M rated games.

LDen that's how I felt and still do feel about my step mom. My real mom allowed me to watch anime, collect manga, and play video games. She even participated in those things with me~!

When I had to move in with my step mom she threw out all my anime, manga, and video games. Telling me they are the stuff from the devil and I was never mention anything from the japanese culture.... T.T All my rare games and anime my friend gave me when she moved away!!!! I still hate her for it but I got my minister to calm her down and now she allows the stuff in the house. But the damage is done.

Maybe instead of telling him he can't do those things watch/play those things with him and explain what is going on. My mother did that for me and I didn't become evil or anything. It's how parent's teach their kids how to handle what they are watching/playing.

I hate giving parenting advice to others but I feel for your step son. It did a lot of emotional damage to me. She even convinced me that my path in life was a way to hell and I gave up on everything. I know your not that drastic but try to just get involved in what he is doing and he will listen more.

If you totally dissagree with this it's ok. As I said I am always scared of giving advice.

Well no I never told him that they were from the devil or anything. But he's way too violent when he gets angry. And he's old enough to understand when I tell him that I don't think they're a good influence. He's not allowed to curse and he's not allowed to use violence at all and those things that he was used to doing influence him too much to do that. He's had horrible fits and bit his sister once. Threatened me with a wooden block, kicked me in the stomach. He doesn't act respectfully like he should and most of those things are the problems. I have to eliminate those things because I'm the one who has to be alone with him and the two younger girls when Scott gets deployed and honestly, he's very close to my height already. I'm actually kind of afraid of what he's capable of doing when he gets bigger than me. >< I know that sounds horrible and I shouldn't distrust my stepson. And I don't. I distrust him when he gets angry because he gets out of control. He doesn't even remember half the things he does when he gets mad. He's too emotional.

LDen it sounds like he need what you are doing and some sever councelling. I'm sorry I misjudged what you were doing for him. He does sound scary and sounds like he needs a lot of help before it gets to the dangerous point.

To all of you yes my step mom is almost unbearable to handle. For a while there before our minister got involved she would shout at me that I was possessing my little sister with the spirit of the devil. That's when I called the minister in because she crossed the line there. I litterally felt hate for the first and only time in my life at that point.

And...speaking of problems. I have one that needs to be dealt with now. ^^; Sorry. I'll be back later.
