linux, mac or windows?
what is your favorite? linux, mac or windows? WHY?
|
I've never used linux.
I used macs when I went to school for graphic design, and it was a tiny bit better than windows, other than that I only use a mac for itunes. But I like windows a lot more since I'm a bit of a gamer. |
Since this is partially a gaming forum, I won't be surprised to see Windows win out.
Macs are pretty okay, I guess. I use an iPhone and like it. But for gaming graphics, compatibility and modification, Windows wins hands-down. |

I have all three, but I absolutely adore my Mac.
Mac: I use it currently on the weekends for projects and getting things done quickly. It helps keep my information and files well organized, it is also simple to use and understand how everything is filed away in the system. I dislike how there are always updates to the system that sometimes prevent you from connecting to other Mac systems you may have if one is updated and the other is not. I also dislike how quickly they out-date software, I find iMovie HD '06 the best version of iMovie for me to get the work that I need done, but I had to find an online version of it because Mac was at '08 when I got mine. I tend to play a lot of games from BigFishGames on my Mac, and they work so much better on here. PC: Every time I use one I feel like putting my fist through the screen. Slow response, convoluted inner filing, and constant hand-holding from the system telling you to approve functions that you clicked on. The only thing I like my PC for is to play certain games...and even then that's debatable. Linux: I use my netbook with Ubuntu at and for school. I also do research and surf on it. The computer that I have it on makes it quite difficult to play games on it properly. Other than some small issues that are mostly with the computer it is on, rather than the actual system, I love using it because of its simple straight-forward layout. It also does something awesome that neither of my other computers does (unless I use Firefox on my Mac and have to force quit), when it runs out of battery or has been shut off unexpectedly, it will save absolutely every single tab, song, word document and file for you. I never have to worry about losing a file for some stupid reason whether it be my fault or not. :) |
Windows. It's the only one I have use my whole life. I have never use a Linux or a Mac.
|
It's a little difficult to choose which one because each OS series it's own purpose. I personally use Windows because I'm able to do whatever I need or want to, for the most part. The only unfortunate thing when dealing with any Windows OS is that it's made by Microsoft and full of fun errors!

I've never been using Mac or Linux.
So, I'm with Windows. :D |
I like Windows because I'm familiar with it, but I'm warming up to Linux as well due to using it for all my programming classes.
Macs confuse the fuck out of me, but I guess they're better now than they once were. |
I've never used Linux, so I can't really comment on that. However, I prefer Windows. I'm not really a fan of apple products to be perfectly honest with you. I like my iPod, but other than that I'm not interested in anything else that they released.

Linux for smaller games from HiB and school. And for my phone! Android ftw :3
Windows for gaming :-) |
Personally, I am on a late 2011 MacBook Pro and I like how things go in this direction. I have actually jumped into using Apple computers since 2007 and never looked back. Well I still have my Windows desktop for gaming but never really took off with the sense ever since.
I know that using a mac is a love and hate type of relationship where there would be people who would really enjoy it while there will be the other group which would despise it. |
Linux is free - fuuuuu
Windows - have much programs but lag as hell Mac - fast loading programs and more cool app's - Hell yes |
I use Linux (Mint, Arch, Puppy), Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8. I end up using Windows 7 on my primary laptop and desktop. I guess if I wasn't so lazy I would use Linux more.
