Calling manish can be considered a compliment there, but they might not like it.
A guy with say, an un-manly sneeze (me) calling them cute might be considered a compliment, but I wouldn't enjoy it.
Do you see what I mean now? It's not that we don't appreciate compliments, it's just that we don't think of ourselves as "cute",
much like most less than flimsy girls won't consider themselves manish. I don't plan on insulting anyone soon, that would be crude, meaningless, and hurtful.
