"... no, actually." Robin stood up straight, scanning the area, "there's no one... nothing..."

"Huh. Well that's kinda, creepy...Come on, let's go find this beacon is coming from. Oracle, can you narrow the beacon down any further?" She asked, advancing further into the heart of the mad house.

"Sure thing" Oracle replied as the trio made their way around Arkham, "alright, if you're all paying attention to your masks, a bar should be showing up... now. The closer you get, the stronger the signal to the beacon."

Ciara and our heroes slowly made their way toward the beacon being especially careful. The place hadn't been redone in years, the old black and white tiles, the leaking pipes; not to mention the lovely artwork Joker and his gang had done in various places. They stayed to the shadows but still they didn't encounter anyone... "I don't like this guys," she whispered walking past a creepy, hand sewn doll with a Joker like smile on it's face, sitting in a wheel chair in the hall.

As they made their way through the medical wing a weird smell became present. Nightwing startled, turning sharply to stare down the hall behind them but nothing was there, "... did you guys hear that?" he questioned, a batarang in hand.

"Hear what?" Robin questioned, glancing back confused. His eyes widened as he stared down the empty hall, "what the hell...?"

That's when Ciara began to feel it, her skin prickling like pins and needles yet nothing was there although the feeling grew.

"I didn't hear...Ah, what the-?!" She said starting to scratch her arms, trying to get the feeling to go away. The feeling grew and grew. She started taking deeper breaths but the feeling only got worse. She fell onto her back, trying to fight it. "GAS!" She yelled.

"Damnit" Nightwing exclaimed, hurling batarangs down the hall and backing away, "guys? Robin? Neptune?!" he exclaimed, looking around confused, "Guys, where'd you go? Guys!" he took off.

"Starfire" Robin breathed, a panic in his tone as he knelt by Ciara, "What are you doing here? What happened to you?"

Ciara kept twitching and rolling back and forth, as if she was trapped in a small container, "Gas.Gas.gas..." She kept yelling, tears beginning to roll down her cheeks. She looked up at the figure but all she saw were those red eyes and a deep voice she wished she'd never hear again. "No. Get away! Have to-get away!" She screamed, pipes breaking and water balls filling the room, one of which hit Robin.

"Ah!" robin gasped, hit to the side by the water. He stood as the floor began to become covered with it but it wasn't water that he saw but rather blood. "Oh god... it's everywhere..." he trembled, "starfire... h-hang on" he knelt to pick her up, "I'll get you out of here-just hang on!"

Ciara didn't hear Robin's voice but rather that of Mr. Sinister, "Now what shall I do with you today? Take your organs, remove your arms..." She screamed, pushing her way out of his arms. She ran as fast as she could, but all she could hear was his laughter.

"Starfire come back!" Robin yelled, running after her.

As Ciara ran around a corner, a tall dark stranger stood there in her way.

Ciara bumped into the stranger and took a few steps back as Robin's morphed voice rang out, "CIARA COME BACK!" She was sweating, shaking and breathing heavily. She looked behind her and then back at the figure and tried to make a break around the figure.

Before she could run passed he grabbed her and pushed Ciara up against the wall. His hand reached to her bare stomach through the rips in her outfit.

Ciara squirmed, it felt like the wall behind her was producing needles, slowly digging into her back but her attention quickly changed and she froze in fear when the man touched her stomach. Much like a rabbit freezes when it thinks it hears something.

"Oooooo, Batsy! Getting a little touchy-feely?" A jolly voice teased over the intercom system as the TV monitors throughout the hallways turned on. A pale-faced, grinning man known far and wide as the Joker looked down at them, "Feeling a little lonely? I'll send you some company!"

Batman pulled away from Ciara, "Run." he grunted to her.

Ciara try with all her might to focus through the illusion after heading the word Bat. "B-Batsy?...G-gas." She forced out before letting out a scream as she felt needles fly through the air, one of them hitting her in the shoulder. Her moment of clarity faded quickly as she fled, pulling needles out of her arms.

Soon a bunch of thugs were rushing through the halls, all wearing gas masks and jeering. "Hey, the Bat's buddies are here!" one exclaimed.

"Ha!" another laughed, "they weren't expecting this now were they?" he swung a pipe at Ciara's head.

Ciara took the force of the pipe and fell to her knees. She touched the back of her head and a bit of blood was on her hand. Her hand shook as she looked up, all their eyes glowing. And took several deep breaths before giving out a battle cry. She charged at the man quickly breaking his arm. "You won't take me! I won't be your science play toy!" She screamed, her voice shaking and she continued her assault on the crowd. She was terrified. But there are only two things you do when you're scared, flee and cry or fight and cry. Ciara had chosen fight.

"Wholey fuck MUTIE" the one screamed before getting floored. A few chose to bolt, some stayed to fight.

"ooo! Bats, I like your friends" Joker giggled over the monitors, "they really keep this little game of ours interesting!" his voice changed darker suddenly, "too bad they came just as recess was over. Boys. Take them in." he grinned, "it's time for their medication."

Ciara's head shot toward the screen as he said his last sentence, her eyes glowed bright. "I'll give you MEDICATION!" A giant mallet of water formed in her hand as she leaped up, smashing the TV in two. She turned as the thugs appearances changed to doctors and interns. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCK NO!" She charged slamming two of the thugs into the wall with her mallet, leaving a dent in the wall.

More came, an endless sea of them. "Yeowch! You're hurting my feelings girly" Joker's voice continued from other screens, "Hey Doc, I think we're gonna need the backup concoction"

"Hmm, someone doesn't like taking their meds" a smooth voice commented as a head poked in, covered in a burlap sack of sorts.

"Hurting?! I was hoping to break them!" She cried breaking another's arm, and kicking another's knee cap in. When she stopped him, she stopped what she was doing. Her eye twitched several times, already redness from the steam of tears that had flown through them. Not looking away, she punched a charging thug in the nose. "YOU!" She boomed and charged at him, a mallet forming once more in her hands.

"O.O eep" the thug turned to run. Meanwhile another gas began pumping through the ventilation system, a rather sleepy concoction.

Ciara slowed down, the mallet returned to water, making a loud splash against the floor. She staggered, the intensity of her freckles fading back and forth. "..You...You'll...pay...aw crap." She said sluggishly, falling to her knees and then over onto her side, her freckles returning to normal. "..nmm.." She mumbled unable to keep her eyes open any longer and passed out.

By the time she awoke again the entire crew was tied up. Nightwing and robin were tied up, unconscious, against the wall alongside Ciara, meaning Batman himself was strapped to the chair in the center of the room. The Bat was much worse for wear now that he was in the light. His armor was all but gone, leaving the material across his chest torn, his arms were more-or-less bare, the gauntlets had their blades broken off, his pants were half-missing and his boots looked worn down to the bare minimum. the only thing left in tact seemed to be his mask-albeit the ears of the bat were snapped off but everything that covered his face was still there.
