@Risque: we are currently having rain season here so it rains all day which makes it cold and I like it :3 but when dry season coming I would say that must be how does it feel as you all have summer! And it repeats the whole year, for six month each :I |
Lots and lots of rain I see.
Glad you like it. ^_^ |
In the Bay Area, in California -- 30 or so minutes, by car, from San Francisco.

I used to be in Southern California but now I'm in Oregon, right around the Portland area. w00t!

I grew up in Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm now in British Columbia, Canada, for school.
There's a big difference between experiencing the seasons. In Saskatchewan you notice the shift. There are sometimes about six months of winter (about minus 10 to minus 50 Celsius and snowy for a majority of it), but spring is rainy, summer is sunny, and fall is windy. In British Columbia it just rains a little less, or a bit warmer, in the summer, then more and/or colder in the winter. Sometimes there is slush, sometimes there is a week or so of sun. Otherwise, rain, rain, rain. I miss Saskatchewan. But school. [gonk] |
@Caught Inbetween: Huh, I grew up just a bit south of British Columbia (near Seattle) and I felt like at least summer was pretty distinct and rain-free. I'll agree that spring, fall, and winter all get a lot of rain, but the rain patterns are a bit different each season. You get your light showers with lots of sun in spring, wet and windy days in fall, and snow and slush in winter. [lol] And since the foliage changes dramatically I always felt like the seasons were very distinct.
But I think the constant rain is hard for people who aren't used to it. Meanwhile I'd be miserable in place that snowed for half the year since I can't handle cold weather very well. [gonk] We're having record-breaking snow where I live now (northern Japan) and I can't wait for spring. |
@Ferra : I'm in the Valley, sort of near Vancouver.
Last year we had a record of a month or so of rain-free days. That's the first time that has happened since I moved here. It's been maybe a week in the summer rain free with some days spattered around without rain. In Saskatchewan we got thunder showers in the evening and at night, but really beautiful days. The winter days were beautiful too, despite the cold. It was dry cold so you could dress for it. Unlike here. I really do dislike the rain. This isn't the place for me long-term. But it has good schools. Is the snow there a very wet snow or a dry snow? Can you dress for the cold? If that makes sense. |
Ah yeah, I get what you mean. The rain really can make it more miserable since you get wet and stay wet and cold.
Where I live now, it's (usually) dry in the winters and wet in the summers. We even have a rainy season mid-summer where it pours rain but it's really warm. Winter is typically dry so I can dress for it *but* it's also cold indoors since my work and my home don't have insulation, central heating, or air-conditioning like US buildings. So that's what makes it miserable for me more than the cold itself. If I could quickly get warm indoors I probably could handle the snow outside a lot better. |
@ Ferra - Wait a minute... it can be rain-free in this area!?!

I live in Ontario (part of Canada)

But hey, I'm biased. [lol] I miss the mild, warm summers. Summers here are always dreadfully hot and humid. |
I live in Michigan. Traverse City to be exact. :3 Water is everywhere! I love it. The winters are generally not pleasant though...
|
At one point is was sunny not a cloud in the sky and I was being rained on...
Better than Oregon though... gosh that place is the definition of bipolar all on it's own with that weather system @[email protected] |
Well the map's not exactly being accurate, but I'm from Eastern Australia ^__^ *waves*

British weather is most definitely bipolar [lol]
