Miko's Pixelzz

So I've been fiddling with pixel art for quite some time now, but I'm getting really serious lately. It's not the easiest thing but I think I'm getting much better at it. I'm not great at all, still just a beginner so please go easy on me. I know what's wrong with my pixel art but I just need to get it out there so that I can get a little help. So either constructive (not harsh) criticism or compliments are required (not saying that compliments are required, just that if you're going to say anything, it should be one of those...if that makes sense )

Anywho! Onto the art...

First up: Just something random on a base by ~rampagerose on DeviantArt.

Ignore the quality...I stupidly saved it as a GIF :/ I would just like some help with the overall design and how I can make lines smoother. I try not to use jagged lines but sometimes it's hard.

Second: Starting a pixel doll of my avatar on a base by KawaiiHannah

Now, I know the hair is just bleh and the lines are sorta effed up, I'll try to work on that. But what about the sunglasses? How could I have made them better? Is the lens part okay?

I would look up tutorials but sometimes they're hard to find and hard to follow.

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Seeing you are using KawaiiHannah's base, you aware she does have pixel tutorial?

Yes, I've looked at many of her tutorials and others. But for some reason, I'm just not a very good tutorial follower. I always seem to get something wrong during it. -shrug-

I suggest you start small from basic cube and sphere shape.
Study how light and shadow form, and blending methods.

I've got those things mostly down-pat, though I don't implement them all the time lol Mostly cause I'm trying to work on lines and trying to make things look like they're supposed to. But the cubes and spheres definitely help with shading, soooo much. haha

Thank you for the advice <3
