Angel-in-us Cafe (PapillonCameo and maidenroseheart)
Bio:
Name: Sheila Swift Age: 28 Job: Manager of the cafe "Angel-in-us Cafe" Description: Tall, silver-haired, lady of high class breeding. Background: Parents are well to do. They gave her an extensive education. Secret File: Is the bearer of an angel. The angel within her is called Swift, after Sheila's last name. This also accounts for her personality, swift. Swift in speed and swift to react when needed. Due to Swift's presence, Sheila had gained abilities normally incapable by humans. Picture of Sheila and Swift. Sheila closed the manila folder with narrowed eyes. It was all true. The information was correct. Yet it baffled her that the agency that trained her could be so general. Placing the bio and contract into a vault, she carefully closed it and slid the picture back over the top. The bio was quite frankly pointless. It told no one who had a clue already anything they didn't already know. The contract was another story. It was an agreement between her and the goddess agency that she would always use her abilities for good. The abilities were borrowed. What she had could be taken away. In a flurry of power and wind, Swift unfurled out of Sheila's back and poised above Sheila in regale defiance. Sheila felt instant regret for her thoughts. Of course the abilities could be taken away. Only if Swift left her though, and they were life-bonded. You couldn't break a life-bond easily without mental damage or death. Even if they didn't have such strong ties as a life-bond between them, they were closest of friends. How could they not be when their very souls lived close together. Swift laid a strong, gentle hand on Sheila's shoulder and squeezed lightly. Sheila nodded back in silent confirmation. No sense in being upset over bureaucratic paperwork and polices. They were above all else friends. Swift bowed and then twirled back into Sheila. Sheila closed her eyes at the familiar presence of Swift within her. She then looked up and prepared her mind to face another day. Leaving the secret room via a bookcase, she entered her office. She was the manager of "Angel-in-us Cafe." She grinned at the irony of that and made sure her secrets were safe for the day. Walking from her office to the work space behind the counter, she greeted her staff. Hardworking young ladies who kept this place running. There were tables, booths, couches, and a loft upstairs with more seating arrangements with the sole purpose of comfort for their visitors. She prided herself on hiring staff who worked to help the customers feel like they were at home and welcome. Speaking of customers, there were two cars pulled up outside. Some local college girls up early to study waiting for their favorite cafe to open. |
((Can't find pics, so I'll just try and describe it. Sry for not posting anything till now!))
Serafina shrugged to try and get her shoulder length red curls out of the way. It was always so very annoying, but the blue eyed woman loved her hair too much to cut it any shorter. It was early morning and already the café in which she worked was bustling like an ant hive. Of course the place wasn't open yet, but still. As soon as the door where spread wide people would whirl in to find a seat, to laugh and to enjoy the delicious foods offered by the always smiling staff. A sudden shiver ran down Serafina's spine as she turned her eyes to examine the as yet nearly empty restaurant. She could have sworn angelic energy had emanated from someplace within the building. Shaking her head the love angel shrugged again trying to push the questions such an occurrence wrought. Angels on earth weren't all that common, at least not ones who weren't guardian angels. Their energy was undetectable, so she knew it wasn't one of them unless they were misbehaving. Mulling over her thoughts, Serafina blinked cautiously as she put in a fresh pot of coffee behind the counter. Then quickly bustling away she gave the manager of the café a smile. It was a wonderful place to work. Hopefully that angelic energy was a good one, and not one of the fallen. The redhead was tempted to try and find a paladin to come and take a look at the place, but they were so hard to find! Besides, she was busy enough as it was sprinkling love into the drinks of customers who seemed on the brink of the emotion anyway and creating new couples with her subtle matchmaking. Sometimes, she barely needed to use her arsenal of skills to get a pair together, but at others it was a real wrestling match. She hoped her current work in progress came to the restaurant today. Serafina was so close to getting them together! |
Sheila unlocked the front doors and turned on the welcome sign. It's calm blue light emanating out to all who might pass by. She stepped back and watched as the car doors of the few already outside opened. Sleepy teenagers to awake grandmothers slowly got out their bags or purses and made their way up to the door. She opened the door for each one and greeted them by name. They were regulars on the weekdays. Soon laptops or books were opened with a cup of coffee in one hand and some sort of breakfast wake up food in front of them. She personally preferred the cream cheese pie slices, but was not planning indulging in any today. She walked through the downstairs once the first rush of guests were settled and headed to the second level. Set up similar to downstairs with tables, armchairs, sofas, and tables for both groups or singles, she felt pride that people could come here for some peace and quiet. The glass enclosed area overlooking the street was for the few who wanted to smoke as well. She shrugged off the sadness she felt for those people. She personally didn't approve of smoking, but understood that for some it was a way of life. She continued up to the top where her apartment was.
