Evil in Disguise
 

(Won't be on for a week minus tomorrow because of spring break. Just had to let you know.)

Rosco walked swiftly down the sidewalk, holding his hands together and trying hard not to let the fast-falling flakes of snow hit his face. It'd been a long day at work, and the snow was making it seem even longer. He rushed to the door to his apartment building and opened it quickly. The warm air of the lobby made it seem like a second heaven. Rosco rushed over to his mailbox and grabbed what was inside, then walked comfortably over to the elevator and went up to his floor.

Rosco's cellphone rang. "Hey." he answered. There was silence on the other side for a second, then Adrianna, Rosco's best friend, began talking. "Ros, are you going to be at the Christmas party at Anita's?" Adrianna asked. Rosco smiled. "Yeah, of course. You'll never guess who I got for secret santa." "Who?" Adrianna asked. Rosco unlocked his apartment complex's door and walked inside. "Guess." he said to Adrianna. Adrianna sighed. "Me?" she asked, sounding slightly disappointed. "Yeah! How'd you know?" Rosco asked, truly stunned. "I just took a wild guess. Listen, I need you to do me a favor and not get me a gag gift. I don't want it to be like last year." Adrianna said, talking about last year's secret santa when Rosco had gotten her a fake beard and mustache set, unknowing of her teenaged body-hair issues.

Rosco heard a loud crash come from upstairs. His eyes averted upward and he ran to his door. "Hol' on, Ade, lemme call ya back." he said, snapping his phone shut and running into the hallway. Mrs. Wilkes, an 80 year old woman, lived up there and she was known for being clumsy. But that didn't mean Rosco wouldn't worry. He rushed up the stairs and banged on her apartment door as soon as he got to it. "Mrs. Wilkes! Mrs. Wilkes are you okay?" he asked. He turned the knob of the door. It was locked. Mrs. Wilkes didn't usually take this long to answer the door. The neighbors slowly began coming into the hallway. "Somebody call the police! Mrs. Wilkes!" Rosco shouted as multiple neighbors raced to get their phones. Something was up. He knew something wasn't right.
