Gemini & Inuyami Inuyasha (1X1)
Over 500 years ago in what we know today as Fudal Era Japan, a teenaged girl from our present time really mucked things up. The girl, Kagome, was unbeknowingly carrying the Shikon Jewel inside her belly and when she was attacked by a demon centapied who pulled her into The Bone Eaters Well. The well served as a portal between our time period here and the time period in which our story takes place. However this is not the story of Kagome and her demon partner Inuyasha, a dog demon whom she unbinded from a tree. No; our story is of four individuals whom have come together due to these circumstances.

Her mother, Shinichi, had heard of a proficy in which the first born of the seventh generation of pure blooded dog demon would rise to be the most powerful demon ever known or to be known. The child's blood would be the literal Fountain Of Youth if drank and carried properties to keep the drinker beautiful beyond comparison. Being a sexth generation herself, Shinichi druged and forcivly mated with Sesshomaru, another sexth generation. Thus, Inuyami was created. Upon her birth date, Sesshomaru caught wind of a child being born with his facial markings. Disturbed and enraged, Sesshomaru saught out the mother and child to put an end to rumors and destroy the ones who had spred the lies. But, when Sesshomaru found Shinichi, he learned how deep the plot really got. Not only did Shinichi plan to kill her own daughter for her own uses, but the demon woman was an incarnation of Naraku;s; who also planned to feast upon the child's blood. Sicked, Sesshomaru could not bare such a fate to befall his own flesh and blood, so he faught back the evils and saved Inuyami. On Inuyami's fourth birthday, Sesshomaru truely believed that Shinichi and Naraku had been defeated and the head hunt for his daughter had faded. He was wrong; mid-day of the small celebration for Inuyami proved other wise. Inokumaru, Inuyami's older 1/2 brother from Shinichi, and his mother had come to take his sister from her father and return to the evil plotters. Sesshomaru would have no part in it and faught valliently to protect his daughter, he was fortunate enough to kill Shinichi and send her back to hell but Inokumaru had slipped away and returned to Naraku. Years passed and Inuyami grew into a strong young woman, able of protecting herself and anything she cared for. She was bestowed the Sou'ugna, the sword of hell, on her 18th birthday and now lives in a small home outside of a village on the otherside of the continent as her uncle and father. The seperation is for her own safety from Naraku and Inokumaru and as long as she does not send off to much energy signarutes, she will remain undetected. She was a poor mother and ofter treated him like he was more a desease then a child. His father dissapeared before his birth, he'd been told he ran off but Shinichi had hinted that she'd killed him on several occations. As Inokumaru grew up, he was teased for being a half demon by the humans, and for being half human by the other demon. It wasn't easy to be a mixed blood, and having a neglectful mother to top things off drove him mad. When Inokumaru was in his thirties, Shinichi was killed by a tribe of demon hunters. His life was also in danger but he escaped with only a scar left on his eye. Now on his own, he took to a life as a traveler, hiding his demon side from the humans as well as he could. While eating on the side of the road one after noon, a man in a baboon pelt approached him and offered him infinite power and the revival of his mother, all he had to do was swear himself to the man for eternity. Having no other path in life and missing the only woman he'd ever recieved any form of love from, even if it was a neglectful sort of love. |

Not so deep in a forest, very close to the tree where Inuyasha had been imprisoned, a fox demon girl of about twenty slept on a tree branch, katana close by her side.the sun was just rising, and all was peaceful.a little white fox, not much bigger than a kitten, climbed up to the girl and started licking her face.Gemini woke with a start."fft, pah! Yuck! Miko, you licked my eye!" She said.Miko barked, a tiny sound that would make most hearts melt.Gemini merely smiled."all right, I'm awake.ya harebrained little furball.we're headed east today, yes? Good.let's go." She said, and jumped down from the branch, landing gracefully on her feet.Miko jumped and landed on her shoulder, perched as a lookout.Gemini quickly took stock of her surroundings and started walking, joining the path quickly, headed east.she had no specific destination, she was just travelling.though lately a dark scent on the air had been drawing her eastward.at the same time the scent appeared, reports of demon sightings and attacks had increased.wherever the scent was strongest, she had found, there were often more or stronger demons.this was fine for the most part- it gave her a chance to exercise her fighting skills, but the scent bothered her.things like this didn't often happen unless the demon Naraku was involved. in a town not far away, the young male kitsune walked through the early morning streets, watching the villagers rise and begin their day in various ways.he had stayed the night in a barn at the edge of town, and was now making his way eastward, following the road.when he had set out from his own village, he had chosen a direction at random and went that way.now he was simply following the road.he didn't know what he was looking for, or where he would find it, but he knew somehow he would know when he found it.the village was small, and he passed through it quickly.once on the road, Todd felt a chill run down his spine, fluffing out his tail and making his ears lay back.it was not the first time this had happened.in fact, it had happened increasingly often since he left his village.the feeling that he was being watched or followed.it didn't sit well with him, and by now he was sure it wasn't just his imagination.someone or something was after him, though he couldn't imagine why.all the while a power greater than any other lay dormant within him, waiting to be released and used, but Todd was unaware of this fact, and as the feeling passed, he walked happily along the road enjoying the sunshine, unprepared for the events that would change his life forever. |
As the sun rose over the beautiful summer country of anchient Japan; animals, humans and demons where begining to awaken from their night of slumber. For such an early hour a commotion amoungs a certain village of humans had already filled the civilions into a rage.
"Did we finally catch the beast that's been stealing our lives stock?" A black hair rice farmer asked a red headed live stock hearder as they walked past Todd as though he wasn't even there. The pair of men's clothes where plane, a short and tattered brown kimono with a simple obi and regular wooden sandles. "I think this time we've finally caught the wench," the red headed male replied to the shorter male at his side. "Did you hear it's another demon? A female with ears like a wolf and hair like snow... sounds like she's been a lot of trouble in neighboring villages from what I hear." "So where are they holding 'er?" The black haired male asked, most likely planning on scoping out the menice before they put her to her death. "I hear that the local priestess has her sealed in the shallow cave behind her temple, but we're forbiden there." The red head said finally before the two of them dissapeared from his sight. A shot of laughter could be heard in the distance a few seconds later but soon the men where gone compleatly. Else where, along the path in which Gemini had already been traveling, Inokumaru was on his way back to his own home to rest after a long week of training without food, water or sleep. Though exsausted mentally and physically, his appearance didn't lead on. His stride was powerful and he held his chin high dispite and obvious aura of sadness and darkness that surrounded him. |
Just about to leave the village behind, Todd paused.a female demon, being held here? Somehow, he felt compelled to learn more.without wasting any time, Todd made his way towards the priestess's temple.once there, he looked around to make sure no one was looking and slipped behind the place.faced with a cave, he paused again, wondering what in the world he was doing.this girl could be dangerous.but she's not... the little voice in his head told him.though he couldn't be sure, a strong feeling told him that this was what he was looking for.so, following an impulse, the young kitsune entered the cave, calling out softly."hello? Is anyone there?"
Meanwhile, well on her way down the path, Gemini's progress was halted by Miko, who had stopped to eat.sitting on the side of the road, Gemini waited for the little fox to finish.once he was done, she stood and started walking again.only a few minutes later, however, Miko began growling."what now, Miko?" Gemini asked.Miko barked.Gemini sniffed the air and nodded."yes, I smell it.a traveler, and a tired one at that.he reeks of sadness.but then, many people do these days.what of it?" The fox barked again.Gemini shook her head."no, I sense no danger.we will keep walking.and if he should pass us, then so be it.as long as he isn't one of Naraku's goons, then its fine." She answered.Miko just whined.only Gemini and Miko were left, and they knew what no one else had guessed- that Naraku had set the fire which wiped out her family.the shape shifter was threatened by the thought of demon royalty, and decided to rid himself of the threat.he didn't know that Gemini had escaped.if he found out, Gemini knew, he would come after her and try to kill her as well.he would never allow any of the royal kitsune family to survive. |
In the back of the cave, which was only about twenty feet deep, the sound of chains cut threw the air and passed Todd's ears. There was something inside, it was alive and still moving. The chain noise began to grow violent as the demoness within awoke and recalled her predicament. A moment passed and the sound of the chains subsided in the darkness.
"If you've come to kill me I assure you that you lose your life long before I lose mine!" The demonesses voice was plain and low. She spoke slowly as she's heard her father do her whole life. It was a way to intimidate others and mask her true powers. As Inokumaru made his way down the path and towards Gemini and Miko, he could sence their energy signatures and smell them. Kitsune, doubtlessly, but there was a touch of something else. Perhaps it was the blooms of sakura in the trees, or perhaps one of the females ahead was of some sort of special interest. It was a strange smell, a smell that he hadn't yet encountered in his life The gap between the half demon and the kitsune closed and soon the black and blue haired male spotted Gemini and her small white companion. They didn't pose any threat to him, and he had no desire to start any sort of fight with either of them. He passed the two, shifting his eyes slightly to watch Gemini as she passed him. What is that smell... there is something about her. Inokumaru thought as she vanished from his field of vision. To Inokumaru's misfortune, his momentary laps of mental weakness let loose to his exaustion and her fell face first to the ground. "....damn.... it..." He muttered to himself, his eyes clenched tightly as he cursed himself more inside his own mind. He hated to be weak or vulnerable, it was even worse no that he'd just passed such an intriging woman who would inevitably of heard the thud he'd made when he landed in the dirt. |
Todd stepped forward."no, I'm not here to hurt you.I heard they were holding you here and....I wanted to help." He said, stepping forward carefully until he could see the female."I'm Todd.I can help you get out of here before they come for you later." He said,kneeling down to examine the chains.
Gemini passed the male and glanced discreetly at him.in her mind, she noted that he was pretty good looking, but obviously tired.just as she was about to turn a corner, she heard a thud like someone falling.she turned to see the male laying face down on the road.Miko whined but Gemini went to him anyway, and knelt next to him.her face betraying nothing, she gently turned him over and examined him.she took out a bladder full of water and held it out."can you sit up? You need to rest, some food and definitely water.you've clearly pushed yourself too far." She said, helping him sit up. |
"These chains have been blessed by that wench preistess. Be you of demon blood, you will not be able to break them." The seal on the chains also retarded Inuyami natural power of knowing hanyou, from youkai, from ninjen. She faught the erge to struggle agains her restraints as the fox eared man inspected them. In the darkness, Inuyami was however, able to make out roughly what the male infront of her looked like, but again her demon powers where falling her and her night vission was taking a serious hit from the enchanted chains.
Inokumaru opened his eyes and looked up at the orange haired girl with large red eyes. His heart fluttered for a moment in a mix of panic and a strange relief. Gemini pressed the water bladder to Inokumaru's lips and he drank slowly, doing his best to not be greedy. "Th..thank you, for your concern." Inokumaru said finally, letting his body rest easily in the demoness' arms. He was taken back by her kindness, why would she bother to offer care to a compleat stranger? The question didn't linger on his mind for long, he wouldn't allow it to. Forcing himself to sit up on his own he wiped his mouth and looked at Miko who's fur was fluffed up and who had a dissaproving look in her eyes. |
Todd smiled."well, its a good thing im a halfling, then.my mother was a priestess.hold still." He said, and laid his hands over the chains.pushing his demon energy back, he brought forward the holy energy inherited from his mother, and used it to break the chains."there...that's better..." he panted.using those powers always took alot out of him.
Gemini nodded and allowed herself a rare smile."it is of no trouble to me.sometimes one needs to be cared for, even in the smallest ways." She answered, putting her water container aside.Miko stepped forward cautiously and barked."Miko, down boy.I apologize, he never trusts strangers." She said.Miko sniffed at the man's hand and licked it, his small tongue ticklish. |
Now standing freely, Inuyami rubbed her wrist and then her ankles. The chains that the priestes had used had a binding spell that caused them to get tighter as she struggled to get free. She was so greatful to be free from the pain they where begining to cause her. To their Todd and Inuyami's dismay however, there was also a fail safe spell on the chain. Should they be broken an alarm would sound and the villagers where already on their way with weapons to fight the demoness back. Inuyami's ear twitched at the painful noice that was being emitted from the cave.
"We need to go now.." Inuyami told Todd before running past him. She grabbed his wrist and pulled him along with her. There was a safe place where humans and most half demons couldn't reach due to a barrior Sesshomaru had tought his daughter how to make not far from the village. They would be safe there and no humans would fallow. Inuyami stood just infront of the barrior, which couldn't be seen unless you where actually able to pass threw it. "Wanna see something pretty cool?" She waited for his answer before changing the energy around the barrior to allow him to pass threw it. "It's alright." Inokumaru told Gemini, he offered his hand to Miko so that he could smell that he meant neither of them no harm. "He's just being the protecter of a pretty girl." He ran his hand down Miko's back and up his tail, then again and then stood up. His eyes scanned the area as the wind tossed his short hair from side to side. |
Todd followed the demoness, hoping she would lead him somewhere he could escape the painful noise.they reached a point where she stopped, and seemed to open a hole in the air.he smiled as she led him through it, though as he passed through the barrier a prickling sensation went over his skin."that was...to keep out humans and halflings, wasn't it? I've felt that before." He said.
Gemini stood and grinned a bit at the male.she had to look up to see his face, as he was about a head taller than her, but seeing his face silhouetted against the rising sun made her heart flutter.ignoring that fact, she bowed slightly."my name is Gemini.it is nice to meet you." She said.Miko barked and wagged his tail before jumping back onto Gemini's shoulder."might I ask why such a strong man should ever get so tired? With looks like yours, you should be sitting on a throne." She said.she had never worried about being subtle or flirtatious like women were supposed to be; she always just spoke her mind.fear of rejection never crossed her thoughts because she had nothing to lose. |

Inuyami nodded as the area behind the barrior began to change. The trees began to grow backwards, shrinking back into their sapling states. Grasses and shrubs that had grown into the land subsided and revealed a foot path that lead to a small house that wasn't there before. "Hai, it's a space-time barrior. Everything in or around it proceeds normally with the flow of time, but here, time is frozen for the domain's master and whom ever they allow to enter and see the truth." Inuyami explained best she could to Todd without getting into the nitty gritty, which honestly she didn't understand herself. "Come on, this is where I live... I've never been breached so you don't have to worry about the villagers. If you hear them they'll walk right threw here most likely, not even realising they've walked right by." Inokumaru looked down at the kitsune girl and smiled a bit. Why was he smiling? This wasn't something he usually let just slide off his lips so easily. In any case he just went with it and ignored his own stupidity. "I've been training this past week. No food, no water, no rest... just pure training and no distractions." Inokumaru told Gemini. "Weakness is not a luxury I can afford." He shook his head, he hadn't meant to sound so grim. It was a trait he'd gotten from Naraku that he was trying to forget. "The name is Inokumaru, by the way." |

Todd, though confused, understood the basics of what the girl was saying.he nodded, looking around in wonder."so this place is yours? You live here all by yourself?" He asked, intrigued.he had never lived in one place long, not since his mother had died.and he had never lived alone before that.so the idea of settling down in one place alone was amazing to him. Gemini frowned."well, Inokumaru, I understand the importance of training, but denying oneself food and rest is simply foolish.often I deny rest, but not food, or vise versa.both at the same time could kill you." She said, and pulled an apple from a small pack she kept on her hip."here, eat before you collapse.as much as I enjoy your company, I don't want to play healer while you're unconscious." She said, holding the apple out to him. |
Inuyami nodded to Todd as she opened the door to the house and walked in. Immediately she lit a lamp and began to light others as well as candles, that had been place around the large interior. The house was special as well, being large inside then it was on the outside.
"I've live here alone for quite some time now, ever since my father knew I was powerful enough to protect myself. I guess I was about seven or so." Inuyami told the kitsune half demon as she welcomed him into her home. There was dust on the table and spider webs in the rafters. You could see where she'd walked with her bare feet threw the dirt that accumulated on the floor. "Though I suppose it has been a while since I've actually been here." A friendly smile took her face in the dim light inside the hut as she looked at Todd. Now that she wasn't chained up it was much easier for her to be nice. Inokumaru put his hand up, in a cross guard's "stop" sort of motion and shook his head. His eyes fell shut in almost slow motion, unconsiousness was clawing at his mind. His heart beat was fluttering, normal-slow-normal-slow. He caught his breath by taking a deep sigh into his lungs and forced his eyes to open. "Thank you, but I must decline. You see, apples are negative foods. If I were to eat one now my stomach would collaps as I need to feast on a hearty meal. If I eat only a little, my stomach will want more." Inokumaru tried to explain the best he could why he couldn't accept the apple. He didn't want to be rude but the apple simply wasn't going to be enough. ((I was trying to explain how apples are negative calories but they didn't know that back then so it was really hard to put in their kind of words. Sorry if I confused you any. Not using words like calories, digestion or matabolism was super hard! Lol)) |

Todd looked around.though the place was dusty, it was larger than any other building he had ever seen, and it was nice.he looked over at the demoness to see her smiling, and couldn't help but smile back.his smile was shy, but easy, and it was easy to tell that he was a friendly person who smiled alot."I was seven when I set out on my own.my mother had just died, after being sick for a long time, and I could no longer burden her village with my presence." He said, his smile fading a bit.he always felt sad when he thought of his mother, and everything he had left behind.it got lonely sometimes, travelling all by himself. Gemini nodded and put the apple back."right.I hadn't thought of that.well, I can get you a full meal if you want.we just need to get to the next village.there's a festival happening tonight, and if we can get there we can get as much food as we want, no charge." She offered.Miko nudged her and barked.she rolled her eyes."Miko, I've been doing this for years.it doesn't matter if it's villagers only, no one will turn down a sweet little girl and her pet.not once in ten years have I been turned away after that act." She said.Miko barked again, but seemed happy enough.Gemini turned back to Inokumaru."you're welcome to travel with us a while, if you want to." She said. |
"It's really unfortunate, you're mother I mean." Inuyami's eyes fell from Todd's and onto the floor. She knew it wasn't her fault that he was feeling upset about his mother, but there was a sence of guilt that clung to her chest. Thinking for a moment about her own mother, about how before her own demise, she was such an evil person. A pine of hatred and sickness filled Inuyami's belly but she ignored it. "Any how, let's not linger on such things. Perhaps three is something we can occupy ourselves with."
Inokumaru smiled and nodded to Gemini. The thought of intruding on a humans festival was almost a thrill for him. He dispised humans and how they treated half demons like him. "That sounds good, I could deffinately go for a free meal, especially at the human's expence." |
Todd nodded, happy to change the subject."I have a question, actually.have you...it's probably just me, but...I have felt for quite some time that I am being watched.followed.I don't like it, and it has happened far to often to be a coincidence.I was wondering if you knew of anyone that would spy on a simple half demon such as myself.I am not particularly powerful, as far as I know, nor am I valuable in any way.who would follow me?" He asked, the question that had been burning inside him for so long finally finding a way out.
Gemini chuckled."wonderful.I don't particularly enjoy humans, either.they are so...boring.so meaningless.they don't understand that they have such little time, so they don't use the time they have.and more than a few are simply cruel, nasty creatures that don't deserve to live." Her tone was harsh, scathing, revealing that perhaps at some point in her past she had been given reason to hate humankind.she shook her head, clearing her thoughts."well, we might as well get moving.we want to be there before noon, or all the best food will be gone." She said.Miko barked twice and jumped down off her shoulder to run ahead a little ways.the young demoness chuckled and followed her little partner. |
Inuyami gave Todd a shrug and turned to open a window that was simply a hole in the wall with shutters to keep out animals and bugs. The light of the sun filled the home with a more joyful appearance.
"I've felt like that my whole life, well for a good reason I suppose. You see... there is a demon, his name is Naraku, but without really getting into it let's just say he's after me." Inuyami said looking out the window, watching the humans chance nothing but the wind. Inokumaru fallowed the kitsune demons down the path. He knew of the village the girl was talking about. He'd been through there a time or two before but like alway was sure not to make an impression or stand out in the crowd. With a keen eye, Inokumaru made sure to look around constantly, there was something hidden in the woods, the one he'd been searching for since she was born. Something inside him told Inokumaru that his baby sister was near, but where? |
Todd sighed, looking out the window."this Naraku...I have heard his name.I have heard the stories.as to why he might be after me, I couldn't begin to guess." He said."but I know one thing.if he is in fact after me, there must be a reason.something my mother never told me, perhaps, something about my father..." he trailed off.he had asked his mother many times in his life about his father, but her answers had always been illusive, raising more questions that would never be answered.
Upon entering the village, where the celebration was already in full swing, Gemini looked back at her companion."you seem distracted.is there something wrong?" She asked, watching as Miko stole a loaf of bread from a distracted vendor and brought it to her.she packed it away and patted him.he was a good little fox."if you need to talk, I'm all ears." She added, twitching her fox ears for effect.she was serious, but the effect was somewhat funny. |
"I've got no idea." Inuyami told Todd not knowing what else to say. In the matter of parents, she wasn't the one to talk to. She didn't really know her mother much, and what she did know she wished were just a bad dream. Her father on the other hand, had left her behind when she was only six. He visited her from time to time in the barrior he'd created for her, but for her own protection against Naraku and Inokumaru, they would have to stay seperated.
"Hmm, oh, my appologies. You see, I'm looking for someone, a girl. She's probably about your age. I'm just on a mission pretaining to her is all." Inokumaru said as he looked from the woods to the fox princess. He didn't want to discuss the matter more then what he'd already said. He had no feelings for Inuyami being his kin. There was no reason for him to feel remorse for her in anyway, after all, he lost his mother because of that whelp. Why couldn't she of just died upon birth like it had been planed? When he found her, he was to return her to Naraku, no matter what. Perhaps these kitsune demons would be of some sort of help. |
Todd remained silent, unsure of what to say.he hadn't spoken with anyone for so long since his mother died, it was difficult for him to find the words that would keep a conversation going.his stomach provided the answer, however, when it growled loudly moments later.his ears flattened in embarrassment and he blushed."um...I don't suppose you have anything to eat?" He asked, not looking at the girl.he hadn't eaten since the day before, and clearly his body was feeling the effects of it.
