"Basou hello there laddie!" said Shleska as she waved at him. Basou had been quietly walking away and tensed up when he heard her. Turning he forced a smile on his face. "Hey Shaleska...what are you doing?" he asked. "Not much, just here, picking little clovers." she said showing him a basket filled with them. "And who is this?" she asked. Her Irish accent very noticeable. "This is Arachne...a friend of mine...I'm just showing her around." he said and wanted to disappear. "A pleasure to meet ya Arachne lassie!" she said and smiled.

Arachne jumped slightly, feeling her heart rate increase when she heard Shaleska call over to them. She turned her head slightly, an embarrassed blush creeping across her cheeks. She waved slightly when the female centaur talked to her. "Hello..." she said, her voice cracking slightly. The blush on her cheeks became darker and she cleared her throat. "Pleasure to meet you too," she said with a nervous smile.

"Basou, why is this lassie blushing?" she asked. Basou looked over at the blushing Arachne and shrugged. "She's just really shy I guess...." he said and looked at Shaleska and loved her large green eyes, soft looking short orange hair and even the freckles on her face. Feeling himself blush he looked away. "I have to go now Shaleska...I need to get some sleep..." he said Shaleska nodded. "Good rest then." she said and walked away. Basou frowned as he watched her leave and trotted over to his house.

Arachne buried her face in her hands, following after Basou. "Where will I be staying?" she asked.

Basou looked at Arachne and removed her hands from her face. "I don't really need to sleep...I just had to get away from her Arachne...looking at her is like sticking needles in my eyes." he said and frowned. "It kills me to see her with someone else when I wanted to have her all for myself..." he whispered and sighed.

Arachne blinked a couple times, her head tilting to the side just a bit. "She doesn't like you back, does she?" she asked.

Basou looked at a tiny clover and sighed. "No Arachne...she doesn't like me at all." he said and frowned slightly. "Whatever though...if she's happy with someone else...then that's fine I suppose." he added.

"You really shouldn't be chasing after those who you can't have," Arachne said, "It's bad for your heart and you'll end up ignoring someone who actually does like you. Trust me... I saw it several times while looking for a home when I left my nest. Heck... even saw it while I was in my nest."

"I am not chasing Shaleska...I was trying to get away from her but she saw me...she was the one that started talking to me today." he explained and sighed. "I didn't even want to look at her or talk to her...but I couldn't be rude and just tell her to leave me alone...so I lied to her..."

"I see," Arachne said, "Seems like you have a bit of a hard time here? That's kinda what I'm getting..."

"A hard time?" Basou looked at her confused. "Well I guess..I am....I just don't want her boyfriend to think I'm trying to steal her away. That's why I don't want to talk to her." he said and shrugged.

Arachne smiled sheepishly. "Sorry," she said, "I don't know the right words to say. I haven't talked about this type of thing before."

"BASOU!!!!" came an angry yell. Galloping towards him was Brok, Shaleska's boyfriend. Basou stared at Brok and quickly drew his weapon as he motioned for Arachne to stay back.

Arachne blinked a couple times, walking backwards to where she was behind Basou.

Brok stopped in front of Basou, leaving some space between them. "Basou..I heard that you and Shaleska were talking...is that true?" he asked. Basou nodded. "Yes Brok, Shaleska and I had a small conversation...it was about clovers." he explained. Brok glared. "Look Basou...I suggest you stay away from her, she's MINE!" he growled. Basou nodded. "I know...be sure to tell her that too...don't just tell me..."

Arachne peeked over at Brok. "He knows that she's yours," she said, "He was trying to avoid a conversation with her. Just because he talked with her doesn't mean anything, especially when she was the one who started the conversation." She crossed her arms, walking back out from behind Basou, glaring at the other male centaur that had come over in a rage. "You're possessive," she said, "Which is why you're acting so immature over such a little thing. You need to get some control over that."

Basou froze when Arachne began to talk to Brok. "Arachne...I..." he started but stopped himself and let her speak. Brok took a step towards Arachne and snorted. "Who are you to tell me what I should or shouldn't do?" he asked and sized her up. "You don't even belong here you spider freak!" he spat. "Brok leave her out of this!...she's actually telling you the truth...Shaleska was the one that started talking." he said. Brok looked over at Basou and growled. "Stay away from her...next time you won't be so lucky..." he hissed and galloped away. Basou sighed heavily and put his weapon away.

Arachne let out a huff as Brok galloped away. "I'm not a spider freak," she said, "I'm an arachnid. If only he knew that I could easily kill him, then he wouldn't try to get on my bad side." She uncrossed her arms and looked at Basou. "Sooo.... what now?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.

Basou looked at Arachne and chuckled. "You're not a spider freak Arachne, you're a really good friend." he said and smiled behind his mask. "He's not even worthy of you killing him..." he said and patted her head. "Well I showed you both ways that lead us here...so what are you going to do?" he asked.

Arachne shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno," she said, "I would like to take a nap or something..."

Basou nodded and opened the door to his house. "Come inside and take your nap...I'm not really sleepy yet..." he said.

"Alright..." Arachne said, entering the house, "Where can I nap?"

Basou entered behind her and closed the door. "Nap anywhere you want really...make yourself at home." he said and nodded. He looked around the house, happy to be back home.

"Just... anywhere?" Arachne said, chuckling slightly, "Alright." She looked around, seeing if she could find a nice spot to take a nap.

Basou nodded and looked at her for a bit and then looked away. Thinking, he thought about their talk as they had been taking the long way home. Just remembering it made him blush slightly.
