Kirin Rosenbaum x LizzyCollinsDeArc - A Politician's Secret (Mutant)

Plot: A politician is hiding a secret from the public about who he really is. His lover knows the truth and tries to get him to accept himself for who he really is. Will this politician ever tell his secret to the public or will it be leaked by other sources?

Character Profile(s)

The Politician

Name: Terrance S. Pace
Age: 36
Height: Six Feet
Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Black
About Him: Terrance is local congressman, and not too many people or if any at all know his secret. Terrance is a mutant but managed to hide it very well ever since he learned to blend in with regular everyday society at the age of eight. Now he is living with his partner which also happens to be a mutant. His partner knows that Terrance is a mutant, but the public does not. One grassroots organizer managed to find out the truth and is trying to use that against Terrance when he is siding with his colleagues about anti-mutant rights laws. Terrance's mutant powers are psychic abilities and emotional-path abilities. Meaning Terrance can feel other people's emotions.

It's Terrance's day off supposedly and he is at home with Kirin. He picks up the morning newspaper and takes up a cup of coffee, then he sits at the table and starts to read the paper. All of a sudden, Terrance gets a "headache" because he is feeling the emotional pain of person from across the street. When Terrance is at home, he tends to be more himself then he is in the public eye or in the outside world. Terrance attempts to reach for an anti-anxiety pill, but then he starts to tear up when the pain of the person from across the street gets worse.

"When will Ted stop crying about his grandmother!" Terrance screamed out loud, "it's eating me up inside!"

Terrance managed to take out one of the anti-anxiety pills and then another pill to "calm" him down. This is what Terrance usually does to get through some of his rougher days while at congress, but he doesn't drug himself up all the time. Usually he has other ways to cope. Such as being heartless sometimes per se. He is kind and very charismatic when he is in public. His public persona is a kind, gentle, charismatic, and caring soul. Although his political platform is different, he tends to follow whatever is flowing. If he was to ever admit he was a mutant to his congressional colleagues, he could lose his seat in congress. He truly loves Kirin and wishes he could make it a better place, but he feels like he is living a double life right about now. At home, Terrance is crazy and Chaotic. In the public eye and to society, he is "normal". Only time can tell why Terrance is doing what he is doing.

Kirin Rosenbaum 03-31-2012 04:50 AM

Kirin comes in. He is in his 'normal' persona. A young tanned skinned young man. He had been out grocery shopping.

"I'm home!" He calls as he walks in. As soon as the door is closed he goes back to his normal self. He hates that he has to hide his true self when he goes out. But he tries to keep his emotions at bay, since he knows how emotions affect his love. He walks into the kitchen and starts putting stuff away.

Dottie Mae Evans 03-31-2012 01:27 PM

Terrance starts to feel better as soon as Kirin walks into the door. Terrance looks at Kirin and is still teary from Ted's grandmother, but he still manages to smile at his lover some how. "I'm glad your home," Terrance said, "it brightens up my morning."

He then quickly puts away the Anti-Anxiety pill and the "mood" stabilizer pill before Kirin could see them. He remembered the last time he took those in front of Kirin and was given a lecture about them. It reminded him of one of his father's lecture's about taking that pills, how he should just be himself and shouldn't let society toy with his mind. His mother on the other hand was disappointed but knew she couldn't do much about her son's denial. She gave up on that when he hit puberty.

After Terrance finished drinking his coffee and reading the paper, he went over to Kirin to help put away to groceries. He also gave Kirin a hug. "You keep me sane, you know that, Kirin." Terrance said as he smiled.

Kirin Rosenbaum 03-31-2012 01:45 PM

Kirin returns the hug giving his cheek a kiss. "You would be more sane if you weren't having to hide all the time." He says. He lets out a soft sigh. He hated lecturing Terrance, he just really wished he would be true to himself. Kirin turns around and hugs Terrance tight. "I love you, you know that right?"

Dottie Mae Evans 03-31-2012 02:19 PM

"Yeah, but this district isn't ready and I would lose my seat in congress," Terrance said as he sighed, "I already have a grassroots organizer trying to expose my secrets if I vote along side my colleagues. I wish I could make this a better place for us, but I have my hands tied."

Terrance ruffled Kirin's hair and held him in his arms and said, "I love you too, and hopefully one day I don't have to hide my true self."

Terrance smiled and then his cell phone started to vibrate. It was his dad calling him. Terrance excused himself for a second and picked up. "Hello, Dad." Terrance said.

"Terrance," Spencer said as he was watching the news, "You really have to do something about this new bill you guys are going to vote on this week. You must vote no on the 'Mutant Registration Act'. If that passes, you could be out of a job. Also that is violation of privacy too. Just think about it son. You can't fake being something you're not. You are not mentally ill, and taking those pills will only destroy your body."

"Not this again..." Terrance said to his dad over the phone as regard to the pills, "it's one of the few ways I can cope sometimes. Don't worry though, I have no intention on voting yes. Ever since that grassroots organizer has been 'threatening' me, I have to vote her way per se or else."

"You mean, Mu-Power for Justice and Change? They have a point and I don't think she is threatening you. Although she could be a bit nicer to you and try to be more understanding, that I can say," Spencer said as he watched more of the news, "There are ways to cope by being yourself or getting a different job. You could have been a social worker or something more people friendly. Think about Kirin when you cast your vote for the 'Mutant Registration Act'. You don't want him to end up being separated from you."

"Can I enjoy my day off, Dad?" Terrance said, "well I love you dad and maybe we'll stop by today. Well maybe... Bye..."

"Love you too son, and bye." Spencer said as he hung up the phone and felt kind of hurt. Spencer wasn't hurt because of what his son said, it was because of what was going on in today's world and how his son is acting. That is what is hurting him the most. At least he is glad his son isn't cutting anymore. That use to cause him a lot of pain.

Terrance looked at Kirin and thought about the 'Mutant Registration Act'. Then he knew how he had to vote. Also he was thinking if they should go by his parents house today. Although he wasn't too sure if he should or not.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-03-2012 01:00 AM

Kirin is in the kitchen preparing a light snack for him and Terrance. He's also fighting back his emotions. Deep down he knows that Terrance loves him, it just hurts that he doesn't accept himself. It also feels, at least to him that Terrance doesn't truly accept him either. He continues to work lost in thought when he cuts into his thumb. He lets out a cry tears sliding down his cheeks.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-03-2012 01:21 AM

Terrance walked over to Kirin and noticed his lover was bleeding. He felt sadden and lots of thoughts was running through his mind. Terrance knew one thing, it was his fault that his partner was in pain. Terrance quickly got out the first aid kit and went over to Kirin. He can see Kirin's tears and it is hurting him on the inside. He then starts to cry as well. He takes out some antibiotic ointment and a bandage. He put the ointment on the bandage and places it on Kirn's thumb. Terrance then hold Kirin close and has tears in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Kirin," Terrance said as he was crying, "If I wasn't so adsorbed into my political position, I would have seen that you were suffering. I fell in love with you... The real you...."

Terrance knew what he had to do, which was to vote no against the 'Mutant Registration Act'. He had to prove to Kirin that he wasn't using him as a political pawn, or that he was just a toy he would get bored of using. Terrance now had to think about a few things. Should he still stay quit about his mutation or should he finally tell the truth before that grass roots organizer leaks it some how. That is the question.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-03-2012 01:25 AM

Kirin just leans against Terrance, holding tightly to him. He wants to believe him, he really does. He just honestly doesn't know what to believe. He snuggles into Terrance, grateful that the cut wasn't to deep. He leans up and kisses Terrance fully on the lips.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-03-2012 01:55 AM

Terrance embraced the kiss and is still in tears. He could feel that Kirin might not trust him and this time his powers are truly showing. Terrance isn't going to try to hide his mutation abilities this time by popping pills or trying to be emotionless. He looked at Kirin and wanted to take a peak into his mind, but knew that wasn't the right thing to do.

Terrance then broke away from the kiss and said, "Kirin, is it true you don't believe me? You don't have to answer that question if you don't want to. Anyways, care to go to my parents house today?"

Terrance didn't know what else to say and was afraid that Kirin thought he read his mind. That wasn't true though. Terrance just felt Kirin's emotions and lack of trust.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-03-2012 02:04 AM

"I want to trust you Terrance. I do. And a part of me does." He says kissing Terrance's neck. He has gotten his emotions under control again. He hated that he had hurt Terrance. "Just let me clean up the kitchen and then go get myself cleaned up." He says standing. He starts cleaning up.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-03-2012 02:15 AM

"Ok, I'll just need to freshen up and I'll be ready to go," Terrance said as he smiled and went upstairs to freshen up.

As Terrance was freshening up, he threw some of his pill bottles away. He only kept four of them just in case. Was he finally taking his father's advice and was going to stop faking being something he is not. Terrance looked at the mirror and realized he was happy but not truly happy. He wanted to still be a congressman, but he didn't really like what he was doing to his own kind. Was that grassroots organizer right, that he was just a puppet for this district. Then Terrance wondered if he would be the first mutant congressperson. He sighed and combed his hair back.

Terrance came back down stairs and waited for Kirin to come down.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-03-2012 02:33 AM

Kirin does a quick set of meditation to calm himself. He need to get his emotions under control. The tears all didn't come from cutting himself. That was just the catalyst that sent his emotions over the edge. He washes up and gets changed. He heads back downstairs. His emotions finally under control.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-03-2012 02:54 AM

"So we're ready to go?" Terrance asked as he smiled and headed towards the door. Just as he opened his door, he saw the grassroots organizer right in front of his door step with "protesters" from the community.

"Whatever it is, make it quick..." Terrance said as he sighed and felt tensions between him and the protesters, "I have to visit my parents today."

"We want you to vote against the 'Mutant Registration Act'," The organizer said to Congressman Pace, "if you don't..."

"Liz-rye, we're not here to blackmail or make threats," Kevin said as he reminded Liz-rye about what they spoke about before they left the office. Which was they weren't suppose to blackmail or make threats.

"Toy with his mind, Rye! Make his nightmares come true..." An old man said, "Those Republicans don't care about us anyways."

"Mr. Wright, this isn't the rally for that." Kevin said as he sighed, "Liz-Rye, don't listen to him."

"All right, we just want you to reconsider your original vote, but remember... I know the truth..." Liz-Rye said as she walked off with her 'protesting team' along side her, "Have a nice day and listen to your lover..."

Terrance was shocked that the young lady would actually come to his house like this. How did she find out his address and went around the neighborhood without being noticed. Then Terrance realized time was frozen and he sighed. He heard some mutants can "toy" with minds. Which means they can alter your memories, or trigger events from your past and bring them back to life in your head. He thought that was just a fairy tale but it wasn't. He has actually met a mutant that could actually do that. He did read Liz-Rye's mind while she was talking, and noticed she was a kind person but just wanted equal rights for all. He also wondered how she knew about Kirin or the fact that he has a partner.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-03-2012 03:04 AM

Kirin gasps seeing the protesters out side the house. He clings to Terrance's arm. He is shaking like a leaf. This had affected him. When would it end? He knew when it would end. When Terrance started accepting himself. He lets out a sigh of relief when they have gone and just leans against his love.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-03-2012 04:24 PM

"Let's go, Kirin," Terrance said as he walked out the door with Kirin still clinging to him.

Terrance then was figuring out which car to take today, the Toyota Pirus or his big black SUV. He decided to take his big black SUV and unlocked it. "Come on, Kirin... They already left," Terrance said as he smiled, "It's safe now, and they shouldn't be following us. Unless they want to go to jail."

Terrance then thought about what if they were on their way to his parents house. He sighed and realized he was just being paranoid. He waited for Kirin to let go that way they could get into the car.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-03-2012 08:58 PM

Kirin gets in the SUV. He knew he was being silly. "I love visiting your parents." Kirin says as they head off. His own parents had disowned him when he had become a mutant. The elder Paces had become his parents. He even called them mom and dad.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-04-2012 12:16 AM

"And they love seeing you," Terrance said as he smiled, "My mom might have lunch ready for us."

Terrance was driving on the highway and then got off two exits later. He could have taken the main roads to get to his parents house, but he wanted to get there a little bit quicker. When he got to the green light, he made a right hand turn and went down a few more blocks and pulled into the drive way of his parents home. Terrance parked the car and then unlocked the doors, he walked out of the car and made sure Kirin was out before locking the doors.

"I wonder how mom is doing," Terrance said as he smiled and then felt a trigger of his dad's emotions. Spencer also felt a trigger of his son's emotions as well and sighed.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-04-2012 01:47 AM

"Terrance what's wrong?" He asks as they walk towards the house. He was glad to be here. It was nicer then living in the city.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-04-2012 02:14 AM

"It's just the guilt of not listening to father," Terrance said as he walked up to the door and knocked on it.

"Can you get the door, Sarah," Spencer said to his wife as he was reading an article on his iPad.

"Ok, dear," Sarah said as she went over to the front door and opened it, "Oh, it's my boys. Please come on in."

Sarah greeted them and hugged both of them as they entered the house, "How are you guys doing?"

"I'm doing well, mother... Just the usual political arguing and back biting," Terrance said as he hugged her back.

"Well your father said, you have a big bill you have to vote on," Sarah said and then asked Kirin a question, "Has Terrance been staying out of trouble, Kirin?"

Terrance nodded and made his way to the living room where his father was. He sat down near his dad and greeted him hello.

"Hey, son," Spencer said as he gave his son a hang shake, "So... did you reconsider your choice?"

"I have, dad," Terrance said as he took out a contact lenses case, "I realized I can't lie to myself anymore. I am going to vote against the bill, and make a change."

"That's good, son," Spencer said as he felt at ease now and felt his son was serious this time, "I can tell if you weren't serious, because you can't fake emotions around an emote-path. I remember you use to try that all the time. It wasn't good for either of us. I am glad you learned better son."

Terrance nodded and started to take out his contacts. When his contacts were off, his eye color were now gray.

"I'll reveal my eye color to the public at a later date," Terrance said as he put the hazel color contacts away, "I rather have my partner find out before the public does. I just have this feeling he might dump me. I am somewhat prepared for that though."

"Well that grassroots organizer might be your type," Spencer said jokingly to his son, "I'm just kidding, Terrance. I am sure Kirin will still love you, but be a bit leery of you."

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-04-2012 02:17 AM

Kirin returns her hug. He goes back to his normal look, glad he can be himself here. "Yes mom." He says. He stays with Sarah as Terrance goes to great his father. Though he was close to Spencer he was closer to Sarah.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-04-2012 02:34 AM

"Want some lunch, Kirin" Sarah asked as she smiled at him, "I bring some to the living room for you and Terrance."

Terrance talked to his dad some more and his dad smiled. He knew his son would be something great, although he wondered why his son would be a politician. He could have been a teacher, professor, or a social worker with the kindness that he has. Although Sarah told him this gig might not last for long, but long enough to make a difference. So Spencer didn't have anything to worry about.

"Dad, I just hope the political world is ready for the real me," Terrance said as was wondered if he should just take baby steps or go all in at once.

"If they are not, son, then they were never really your voters from the get go," Spencer said as he drank his coffee.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-04-2012 03:34 AM

"Can I help you with lunch?" He asks following Sarah into the kitchen.

Dottie Mae Evans 04-04-2012 09:03 PM

"Sure thing, Kirin" Sarah said as she smiled and handed him a loaf of wheat bread, "we're going to make sandwich cubes."

Sarah also took out the lunch meats, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, and mustard. She handed Kirin some knives and plates, and started making the sandwiches.

"Do you think we should have some apples with these as well," Sarah asked as she was thinking about it.

Terrance nodded and then his cell phone rang. It was one of his Congressional aides. Terrance excused himself and went to answer it.

"Hello, this is Congressmen Pace," Terrance said as he smoothed back his hair.

"Congressman Pace," Lace said, "You have received a lot of calls about the 'Mutant Registration Act', most of the people in your district want you to vote against it. Which is surprising, what are you going to do?"

"I am going to vote against it, that is what I am going to do. I was elected by the people and I must listen to the people, right?" Terrance said as he knew Lace was up to something.

"But Congressman Pace, your reputation and some of your colleagues." Lace said as he was in fear, "They are definitively for the bill. Yet you're going to vote against your colleagues, that is a dangerous move..."

"I don't give a dang!" Terrance said as he banged the table, "Listen to me, Lace. I could hire another aide that will actually do work around the office. So don't badger me into voting yes, got it?"

"Yes, Congressman Pace, bye Congressman Paste.... I mean Pace..." Lace said as he hung up.

Terrance smiled and then sat back down. His dad was shock that he really was going to vote against the bill. He knew his son was, but for him to actually hear his son say it is another story.
