Foof! The Magical Land of Unexpected Adventures!
So today I went on an unexpected adventure. (My 10k bike ride grew by 17.5 Kilometers.) I do this scarily frequently, actually. Setting out to do one thing and ending up sucked into something else completely on a whim. It's a bad habit of mine, but it makes life fun and interesting.
Do any other menewshans go on unexpected adventures sometimes? Or am I alone in this? |
What's the fun in life if you don't go on unexpected adventures? When I was younger I would just up and grab my things, then go on an adventure somewhere. You have a lot of amazing experiences this way.
As it is, when I go on my daily run I always try to take a different route than I have before. We have a lot of parks and national forests around here, plus water front, so I have somewhere interesting to go everyday. I've lived here quite a few years, so I know most of it like the back of my hand, but the world still surprises me. |
I do. We randomly went on a road trip one day spanning a week during school.
My trip to Japan was kind of random and on short notice too. o.o |
Yeah.. I do. I love it~!
I don't always have the gas money anymore though... so I tend to stick around close to home. But every once in a while my best friend and I have an off day at the same time and we go find something to get into. For us, we both like nature, so picking a random spot in the woods to go hiking is always fun. Or visiting a nearby park that has caves open to the public for exploring (at your own risk!) One day we'd like to go on a roadtrip to anywhere. But again, the gas money thing. |
I would so love to do one of those roadtrips to anywhere! But I can't drive. :(
|
Are you not old enough or just not able to?
|
I choose not to learn... Don't like cars much.
|
Oh I see. I didn't learn or get my license til last year actually, right before my 23rd birthday.
When I lived in Atlanta I didn't mind not being able to drive because I could get where I needed to within reason on public transit. But here in rural Alabama, it's a 20 minute car ride to "town" which consists of walmart and burger king. But I don't have my own car right now cause I can't afford one..I share one with my mom. |
I'm only seventeen, so that's something I guess.
|
Some day in the future you might be able to. At least, if you have a friend that knows how to drive it could work, but it's nice to be able to share the drive time. I went across the country on a motorcycle. That was probably my favorite adventure.
|
Don't do that as much as I did a couple of years ago, with the cost of gas being as much as a lunch AND dinner now. Did go up on a few unexpected adventures when trying to find the place that I had originally wanted to go to -- still got there, though.
|
yes! Adventures are what makes life fun! I'm the type that'll randomly decide to take the weekend off and go some random place for a mini vacation when I feel like it. I wonder around a lot, walking wherever I feel like going until I get tired and go home. Planning is no fun and I live life as it comes. :P
|
I love going on adventures, especially when camping. I'll grab a bottle of water and just start walking off somewhere. I do it at home sometimes, but it's more fun in an unfamiliar evironment.
|
That's lots of fun. I love biking. My significant other and I biked about 43 miles last August, a plan we had only formulated the day before. On another occasion, we drove through the Keweenaw with no real goal in mind and stopped to have a picnic.
|
I'm not very outgoing, so spontaneous things don't really go that well for me. I prefer to have plans of at least a sort.
|
I really want to go on an unexpected adventure. A 24-hour road trip or something. Man, that'd be fun, and I'd love to get out of town, even if it's only for a little while.
Boyfriend and I like to go on drives, but they're usually time-limited. |
I love going on unexpected adventures! Once summer rolls around here, I usually take my bike out in the evenings and go ride to a part of the city that I've never been to before. (I feel safe enough to go pretty much anywhere around here at night alone.) If I get lost then I just consult my handy-dandy iPhone to map a way back home. It helped me stay in shape last summer since it's often too hot during the day to exercise (at least in my opinion).
I should get my bike tuned up though. The brakes are starting to squeak. D: |
