Destiny of the Elementals - blueblackrose & Staria
It is now late summer in the Southern hemisphere of Mystika. The weather is still hot at times, but the scent of fall is in the air here in the Runa Forest outside of the city of Dirk. Dirk is a small city with a population of about 10,000. Outside the city there are several farms and crop fields that provide most of the city’s food. Past the crop fields to the North there lies Lake Ilo which is surrounded by a large meadow. Beyond the meadow is the Runa Forest. The forest is deep and one could easily hide or get lost within it.
Raja led the way, but stopped when she reached the edge of the forest. As she waited for her partner, Nathanial, she shifted from her tiger form into her human form and stood there waiting. It wasn’t long before Nathanial caught up to her. “So far so good, there doesn’t seem to be any hunters following us so we should probably head on Dirk. Don’t you think?” The girl nodded, “Yes, we should hurry.” The pair ran most of the way across the meadow and crop fields until they reached the outskirts of Dirk. As they entered the city Nate took Raja’s hand. Right now the last thing they needed was to get separated even if they were just in a small city like this one. Travelling through the bustling streets Nate made sure to take note of where the market and other shops they may need to go to for supplies were while Raja took note of possible escape routes. To most of the people in the streets the pair just looked like a couple that was travelling together. After they had gotten an idea and feel for the layout of the city they headed to an inn near the Northern edge of Dirk. “Raja, I think it would be best if we got separate rooms this time. So let’s not go in together.” Raja looked surprised at Nate, but she didn’t question his reasoning. Letting go of his hand she let the young man enter the inn along first. Nate gave Raja a reassuring smile before disappearing into the inn. The inn keeper greeted him, “hello there stranger, if you’re looking for a room for the night we still have plenty.” Nate nodded, “that I would be sir. I don’t know how long I’ll be staying here so I’ll just get a single room for tonight.” “Good, good. You’ll be staying in room eight,” the inn keeper said handing him the key. He thanked the man and paid him before heading up the stairs to find his room. Outside Raja allowed enough time before going in to rent her own room, luckily she ended up with room eleven which was just down the hall from Nate’s room. Quote:

The brunette headed to her room and slowly entered as Todd popped his head out of her bag. She rolled her eyes as he remarked how he couldn't wait to get out of the bag and onto the chair to 'rest' when she realized she was not alone. She froze as she looked at the red headed man within the room, her hand still on the door knob. He had to have heard Todd talk! he would know! She frowned, debating what to do. There was always killing him or running away... convincing someone they didn't hear what they most certainly had was not an easy task. |
At first Nate ignored the sound of the door since he figured it was Raja and continued to dig in his pack. It was when he heard the voices of strangers that he froze. The first thought that ran through his mind was that a hunter had been trailing them, but dismissed it when he actually processed what the voice had said. He turned slowly to face the girl who had entered the room. “Excuse me. I think you have the wrong room,” he said politely. Looking at the girl he took quick notes of her appearance and the fact that she had a talking fox. Is this really happening? Another elemental? I know that Raja said there might be a few others, but they were scattered to the wind. So it was unlikely they would meet one. For now it’s best not to jump to conclusions and pretend I didn’t hear them talking.
|
He didn't react... had he not heard or was he pretending he had not? it would be an easy trick for a hunter to pretend not to hear so that when she turned her back he could stick a knife in it. The blue in her left eye seemed intensify slightly so one could actually tell it apart from the violet as she focused on her primary element, water. It was everywhere, even filled the very air so was the easiest to use anyway where earth and vine was hard to use indoors and shadow was hard to use in bright light.
"no... the inn Keeper's daughter assigned me this room earlier though she could only give me the key now because her father called her away to help with a fight in the bar. see?" She said casually as she held up the reserve key she'd been given. She wouldn't turn her back on him... not yet. This was her room, so she would stay. perhaps he was just a lost traveler with the wrong room and not a hunter? he was either a very good actor or genuinely surprised. Todd, meanwhile hid lower in her bag. He knew that Krysta could handle herself better with him out of the way... |
“Well this is the room that the inn keeper gave me the key to a few minutes ago.” He slowly took the key out of his pocket and held it up. His eyes narrowed slightly as he tried to figure out how such a mix up could have happened. For now he would handle this situation delicately and stay on guard. The air around him swirled lightly. He just hoped that Raja didn’t show up, she could be quick tempered at times.
“But if you were promised this room first then it’s only polite that I let you take it and see about getting another room. Sorry for any inconvenience.” He picked up his bag from the bed and walked towards the door. When he reached her he gave her a slight grin and whispered, “by the way nice fox.” Then he disappeared down the hall, waving his hand over his head. The slight change in the air he had felt before leaving the room told him all he needed to know for now. Raja locked herself in room eleven. She grinned to herself and turned back into a tiger then hopped onto the bed to lounge lazily. |
The inn keeper... not the daughter.. Suddenly things were becoming clear. Still, there was no other rooms open in the town she knew, she'd barely managed to get the inn keeper's daughter to promise her this one... She suppressed a sigh and debated how to handle it. Before she could say anything, however, he had already decided for her. She stepped away from the door and into the room slightly to give him a wide berth, her guard up still because of him seeing her fox.
As he paused to whisper to her she tensed, not only from the unexpected nearness but what he said. He'd seen it... he had to ahve heard it. She turned to say something to him but he was already out of the room. She closed the door behind her once he was gone and attempted to lock the door. She then sat on her bed, her duffle bag next to her as her fox jumped out of the smaller messenger bag. She didn't look at Todd but instead was currently frowning at the roof. She was tempted to run to another room but she knew there were none... and the hunters were looking too closely to the local forests for her so she couldn't stay outside of the town. She was trapped... and that man knew her secret. There was nothing she could do to stop him if he decided to use that information by turning her in or blackmailing her. |
Nate folded his hands behind his head and stared at the ceiling as he walked to the room Raja was in. Hopefully she’d be kind enough to let me in. He knocked loudly on the door only to be answered by a growl. “Oh come on Raja. It’s just me, we need to talk so let me in.” The girl inside growled again, “go away Nate, you have your own room so go back to it.” He grumbled and knocked harder on the door. The two argued through the door for a few minutes before he finally gave up yelling, “Fine be that way!” At this point he didn’t care if others could hear him.
He stumped over to the stairs and stood there for a moment to calm down. Why does she have to be so stubborn? Walking down the stairs he ran his hand through his hair. On his way down the stairs he was met by the inn keeper. “Hello again sir, is everything fine?” He blinked, wondering if the man had heard the yelling. “Well sir, there was a problem. You gave me a room that was reserved for someone else. So I need a new room.” The inn keeper frowned and proceeded to tell him that there were no more rooms available so maybe he should see if he can work something out with the one of the other guests. He thanked the man before letting out a sigh. Great if I can’t get Raja to let me share the room with her what am I suppose to do? |
Krysta sighed softly as she gazed at the sky. If she was going to be trapped she may as well unpack. She stood and slowly began to do just that as todd curled up on the pillow of the bed. He could tell she was worried, though most others couldn't. Her face as always held a cold, emotionless expression. Only her eyes showed what she felt and Todd had long ago learned to read them as easily as the books Krysta obsessed over. She didn't speak, however, silence between them. Todd knew better then trying to get her to talk when she wasn't sure she wanted to. Only as she finished did she speak...
"I'll get us some food" was all she said before she stepped out to let the fox enjoy his rest. She closed and locked the door behind her before she started down the hall with her hands in her pockets. Her eyes half hidden behind her glasses were on the floor even as she tried to keep aware of what was around her. Her mind was busy on the next plan, the next choice, the next exit. Nothing was permanent so she saw no reason to stay in one place long... |
Nate felt so frustrated. Their plan was starting to unravel and it had only just started. Why couldn’t things work out the way they planned just this once? He leaned back against the wall in the lobby of the inn as he tried to decide what his next move would be. As he thought he stared at the floor, his hand in his hair again. Well if he was to be stuck here or even in the back alley he might as well take a look around the city and get some food. He pushed off from the wall, bumping into something.
|
Krysta was still deep in thought when she sensed that someone was close to her. She looked up to see the man from earlier against the wall. He didn't seem to be moving though but instead deep in thought so she went to walk past him. Suddenly, however, he pushed right into her and she stumbled. She landed in a crouch and her hand was already reaching into her hoodie for a weapon before she realized what she had done. She slowly stood and fixed her glasses as she cleared her throat and put on the civilized mask she wore... to hide the scared girl who used books to hide.
"So we meet again..." The quiet girl said quietly, running a hand through her hair. She glanced towards the direction of the dinning hall before looking back to him. Honestly she and Todd were both starving. Still if she ran away or hurried off he might think she was afraid and she didn't like how that'd look for her... |
“That we do miss.” Nate was blushing slightly as he stared at the girl from earlier. “I’m so sorry. I really didn’t mean to do that. Are you alright?” He stood there somewhat dumbfounded and unsure what to do though it didn’t show on his face. He had to stay calm so he could think things through. Noticing her glance to the dining hall he got an idea. “Umm…if you will miss please let me apologize for all the trouble I’ve caused by buying you dinner or at least giving you some money for dinner.” There was no way that he could ask this woman if she’d allow a stranger to share her room now that he’s caused her more trouble. Guess I’m sleeping in the alley tonight if Raja won’t let me stay in her room.
|
"I..I'm fine" She said in a startled tone. He seemed so polite and nice... he was even blushing in embarrassment? She was soon dumbfounded and unsure herself and it did show in her normally icy face. She had trained herself to be hard as rock and think of the world around her as just as hard, just as cold. This walking contradiction in front of her was waking up something she thought long dead... the feeling of someone being concerned with her. Sure Todd was concerned with her but that was just because he depended on her so that didn't count.
"I was going to dinner anyway, you can come if you want." She said with a shrug as she put back on her mask. He was just polite out of embarrassment for walking into her, that's all. Nothing had changed, nothing was different. If he wanted to sit with her and then pay for their lunch that was his business, not hers. She nodded to herself as if coming to a decision and turned to walk to the dinning room. He would come with her or wouldn't. ((she'll warm up eventually >.< i promise)) |
He watched the girl walk away with a slightly annoyed look in his green eyes, the golden outer rim glowing slightly. In his mind he argued with himself over whether or not going through with his politeness. Sure his was naturally polite and used it as a cover for his hot headedness and some of his other flaws, but would it really be rude to not do as he offered when the person he made the offer to was being indifferent and rude? His better judgment told him to just leave this girl, who was the opposite of him, alone since he had already let her know the he knew her secret, but that isn’t what he planned to do. The thought of being able to tease her and maybe being able to share with another human a secret that the two of them shared excited him. Nodding to himself he decided it would be well worth the risk.
Once the girl was about five or so feet away he started to follow after her. A slight smirk formed on his lips as he came up with a plan. “I think I shall join you miss. Though it does seem rather strange to be buying dinner for a woman whom I don’t even know their name yet. So if you wouldn’t mind miss could you give me a name?” The smirk was gone by the time he caught up with her. He matched his stride to match hers. “I am Nathanial Rhodes, but you may call me Nate if you like.” |
"Krysta, Krysta Rayen" She responded after a moment's hesitation as he caught up with her. He was persistent wasn't he? She'd half expected her cold attitude to drive him off. She glanced over at him, curious why he was so determined. She wasn't the type of person to assume someone was doing things merely out of politeness.... Maybe he'd traveled for some time alone and just wanted to sleep with her or something? He wouldn't be the first, it was one reason she'd grown so cold. She'd had to so that she could keep those who would take advantage of a young woman traveling alone at bay. Or maybe he just wanted to get a room.
"You figure out where you are staying yet?" She asked quietly as this came to mind. She was cold as usual and a little gruffer then she meant. She didn't look at him as she asked the question, though she was curious. She seemed simply unable to believe he was simply being nice to her because she was a human being and deserved it just as much as anyone else. She would find them a table in the dining room. It was fairly nice and had actual waitresses... why this place was so full of people despite this being such a small town was beginning to be clear. |
As the two of them walked, he noticed the same things that she did. This place was very crowded. He kept himself calm even though he hated crowded places. Hearing the coldness in her tone as she asked him about where he was stay he looked at her. “I’m still working on that one miss Rayen. It seems that there is some type of festival or guild convention in town so there aren’t any rooms left.” He pulled out a chair for her to sit in as he replied, still using his polite tone from earlier with just a hint of amusement mixed in.
After she was seated he moved to the seat across from her and sat down. They weren’t seated long before one of the many waitresses came over to tell them the specials and take their orders. Since this was a rare opportunity he decided to splurge a bit. He looked at the waitress as he ordered, “I would like a steak with potatoes and a mug of ale, miss.” His gaze drifted back to the woman sitting across from him and waited for her to order. |
Yes a room... that was what he wanted. She seemed to nod, whether to herself or to him was anyone's guess, a moment as she sat down. She seemed to relax a little now that she felt she knew what he wanted. She wasn't sure if she should give in... at the same time though, what harm would it be? He already knew she had the fox and probably heard him speak. Better to give in instead of risking him going off and telling someone. Before she could decide if she should say something to that effect, however, the waitress had approached.
"This pasta" She resounded, pointing it out to the waitress. It was of average price... being cheap enough of a date or polite it seemed. To him it would seem most likely she was cheap was all. She did prefer chicken over beef so she generally was but part of it was simply being practical. She would, however, order a desert for once since he was paying for it. If he had the money to splurge for a steak he couldn't be too low on cash she figured. |
While she ordered he glanced around the room, searching to make sure that Raja hadn’t decided to come down for dinner. He doubted greatly that she would, but then again Raja could be unpredictable at times. Satisfied when he didn’t see his partner his gaze turned back to the woman he would be having dinner with. The waitress finished writing the order and disappeared into the crowded dining hall. Now what should we talk about? He thought about it for a moment considering different options. For now he'd let her start the conversation is she wished since it seemed like she might have been about to ask him something before the waitress had appeared.
((Sorry for the lame post, I’m having some writers block. >.<)) |
(it's alright dear, Oh do you do fan based rp? ))
She ran a hand through her raven hair a moment and watched the waitress leave. She debated what choices to make, her mismatched deep violet and dark blue meeting his. She stayed silent a moment before she finally made her choice. He could wine and dine her, black mail her, anything he wanted and ultimately things would end up the same way. The least unpleasant option would be to just give him the room. "I wondered what you wanted from me earlier... now it's relatively clear. You can stay in the room but I get the bed, and you can't be too noisy when I'm reading." She said bluntly. She stated her terms simply, half expecting him to deny it but doubting he would refuse the room. She waited silently and watched for the waitress. She was use to being in control so this was natural for her. (XD I have a feeling they'll but heads a little hehe, they both seem to like being 'on top' so to speak xD)) |
((Yes, I do from time to time.))
He chuckled a bit. “Straight to the point I guess. I had considered asking you that since it seems that the friend I was travelling with is currently pissed at me. Anyway, thank you and I’ll try not to be much of a bother to you and your little friend.” His gaze lowered to the table for a moment as he spoke, a hint of annoyance in his voice as he spoke about his friend. For now he didn’t want to go into the details of that, but prepared from her to ask since he was sure that she probably heard all of the yelling from earlier. Watching the woman before him he noted how she seemed more comfortable when she thought she was in control. Things were going to be interesting he thought to himself. ((I have the feeling that you’re right.)) |
((are you interested in Harry potter or Sailor moon fan based rps? xD. I'm working on the harry potter one mainly >.< I'm making a whole new school that's based in the southwest usa >.<))
"I see no reason to be anything else" She remarked simply with a shrug, adjusting the glasses she wore. It was a small nervous habit, inspired by his mention of her 'little friend'. She saw no reason for him to mention it other then he was trying to remind her how much damage he could do since he had heard Todd speak. Hadn't she just given him what he wanted? Or did he want more? She pushed away the thought as the waitress returned, accepting her food with a simple polite 'thank you'. Once the waitress left her gaze would return to her companion. She studied him from beneath her thick black lashes for a moment in thought. Was this really the best idea? She wasn't so sure... Oh well, she would have to wait and see. She could react if needed, for now it was time to eat. She would eat her pasta slowly, still glancing at him every now and then in thought. She didn't like unpredictable people... to messy |
((I haven’t actually read any of the Harry Potter books, but I’d be interested in Sailor Moon since I have seen all seasons of the anime and read most of the manga.))
He nodded at her remark. A small smile appeared on his face when she adjusted her glasses. He could guess as to why she did that. “True, there really is no reason for either of us to be anything, but straight forward with each other.” Before he could say anything else the waitress had returned placing their orders in front of them. “Thank you.” He turned his attention to his meal. It had been so long since he’d been able to enjoy a meal like this one. Picking up his fork and knife he slowly began cutting up his steak. For now he would let the woman study him if she wished to. For now it couldn’t hurt since he wanted to at least attempt to get closer to her. While eating his steak he would return her glances. |
(( well honestly reading the books or not probably wouldn't make much of a difference xD, it doesn't use the books characters or setting or anything really xD. Its a whole new school in a different nation and so on. Read the plot and you'll see what i mean http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...themed-rp.html. But oooh sailor moon buddy <3. I had a dream the other day about a sailor who used sound and shadow as her elements and had a violin looking instrument she used as her weapon. It also had a sword she could remove from it and could sound like any string instrument she wanted. I sooo want to make her so if you're game I'm ready to start a sailor moon rp any time ^.^ . Any plots you have in mind or characters you'd want to use?))
Krysta was too busy eating to question him so simply stayed in her thoughts. Only as their eyes caught did she show any emotion. She blushed faintly, a little flustered because of what it could look like. She looked down quickly, appearing for a moment more like the girl she was then the girl she pretended to be to keep people away. She shifted in her seat a little, inwardly cursing the fact that he had seen her looking. It irritated her in all honesty but at the same time for some reason... his gaze made her feel strange. She pushed away the thought and focused only on completely her meal. As she dug into her dessert, only then did she ask the question he had expected earlier. "Why is your friend angry with you enough to make you sleep in an alley or something?" She asked quietly, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't really so curious it was just something to interrupt the silence. She didn't like how he had flustered her so easily.. she liked that she didn't know why even less. |
((Alright, I’ll check it out. I don't actually have an current plots for a Sailor Moon rp and as for character I usually prefer using OCs, but using cannon characters is fine. If we use cannon characters I would like to be Sailor Saturn.))
Nate found himself smiling because it had been easier to break through her mask then he thought it would. She’s rather cute when she’s blushing and flustered. There was something about her that made him want to try breaking down her wall. He continued to eat silently, being able to take his time eating was a luxury. Looking up from his dessert he shrugged slightly. “It’s hard to tell with her. She gets in moods sometimes.” He ran his hand through his hair, his gaze lowering slightly. What he said was true, but he somewhat knew why his companion was angry with him. Raja might have a tough exterior, but she had a kind and caring side to her that she kept buried to keep from being hurt. Even though he knows this he still usually ends up being the one person that hurts her the most. While lost in his thoughts his cheery and his mix of a polite yet cocky attitude shifted to one that was a mix of disappointment and annoyance. |
((I prefer oc's too ^.^ . So maybe we can just ignore the cannon characters and have it take place in another place other then Japan. Maybe in america or something >.>... then we can just use whatever oc's we make. We can even have our own luna type critter gathering the 'scouts' . ))
"If you say so..." She remarked quietly, her tone saying 'i bet you did something' even though she hadn't meant to. His friend was a She huh? Maybe it was his girlfriend or something? She had to admit, not that she'd ever say so aloud, that he was good looking so the idea of him having a girlfriend made sense. She shrugged off the thought, her mask already in place. She turned her attention back to her food then. She loved dessert but would never risk the money. Accordingly she intended to enjoy her chocolate pie very much. "What's her name?" She asked absently though she didn't care too much, it was just something to ask. Part of her wanted to linger, to eat each bite slowly. Chocolate was her favorite types. She wondered how Todd was doing... but knowing him he had probably fallen asleep. She shook off the thought and decided she'd order some bread for Todd later. For now she had pie to attend to! |
((That sounds good and I like the idea of having a luna type critter that gathers the scouts.))
Her tone made him more annoyed than he already was. Yeah, I know I did something wrong. No need to rub it in. He didn’t say anything in reply of her remark or the tone she had used. Instead he followed suit and turned back to his slice of black forest cake. After a few moments his own mask returning, he wasn’t about to let her get to him. He didn’t want to risk hurting her and that thought made him wonder since he normally wouldn’t care so much about that considering she wasn’t someone he knew. He watched her, studying her. Why would she want to know what Raja’s name is? He finally replied, “Her name is Raja. While we are speaking of friends what is your pet fox’s name?” If he was going to be staying with them he might as well know what to call the fox just in case. He considered ordering something for Raja when the waitress returned to place the bill on the table then thought better of it. He’d just order something to be delivered to Raja’s room when he paid the bill. It would be simpler he thought since Raja didn’t want to see him right now. |
