Sora himself doesn't have a strange name, but Sora finds that the strangest and most fun name he has ever heard is Benedict Cumberbatch. His full name is Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch! NO JOKE!
(For those who don't know, he plays Sherlock on BBC's Sherlock, he was also in War Horse and is going to be on The Hobbit and Star Trek.) |
My name isn't weird or anything, but it's kinda cute ;3
My name's Dulce Flor, which can either translate to Candy Flower or Sweet Flower. My last name, however, is Castillo- which translates to Castle. Candy Flower Castle? Sweet Flower Castle? I dunno = 3=' I'd always get picked on because of my name in school. "Candy, can I have some candy?" And other lame stuff -.- My mom gave me the middle name Flower because she couldn't pick whether Violeta (violet), Rosa (rose), or, well, daisy. So she just picked flower hehe |
Miss Morphine, I think your name is awesome! :O
My real name's Cherish. Fairly unusual, but not completely unheard of. As for other weird names, I went to school with a pair of siblings called Mary and Jesus. And no, it wasn't Jesus as in the Spanish name. They just had very obsessive religious parents. I also knew a Tom Tomlinson, which is daft enough, but his middle name was Ian, so his inicials spelled "TIT". |
My real first name is Audrey, and it always amazes me how many people have actually never heard it before. I know it's a rather old-fashioned name, but I guess I just assume that most people have at least heard of Audrey Hepburn.
For some reason, even after seeing my name written out, people still call me Andrea or Aubrey pretty often. It gets kind of annoying, really; I've even had a college professor call me by the wrong name before. I'm planning on switching to my middle name in a few years, though. |
well my mom named me and my dad gave me a nickname and everyone uses my nick name more than my real one does that count.
my nickname:) lizard real name:) alissa my best friend in 3rd through 7th grade is name petra, i have a friend (girl) named michael, and one named lyberti. |
I love the names people just tend to come up with. Talk about unique in this case! I recently met someone named Eggman.
I think people don't realize they can change their names if they have something ridiculous. I didn't change my name, mainly because it's just too much hassle. |
My name is fairly normal, but I knew someone named Kuljit, it's nice name but not very common.
|
My father was and still is a geek. He named me Teagan after Tegan Jovanka from Dr. Who waaaay back when the doctor was the Fourth Doctor.
|
My English name's very every-day, as is all the members of my family. :XD I dislike my name a lot, though the reason isn't because it's common. It just doesn't feel like...well, 'me'. Sure I'd still jump and/or perk up more when the name is called, but I still don't like it. |
I don't think my name is strange but its probably very different.
My nickname is Andie and it's derived from Alexandra. I think it's a nice change from the usual picked nicknames for Alexandra. It is annoying when people question it, they'll repeat back like a parrot or give me that "Really?" look. |
Whether your name is strange, or not seems to really depend on the culture and society you grew up in/live in. Gizmo to me isn't odd but I'd consider it rare. Much in the way I view the names Wanda or Edwin, rare but still just names. I grew up around Hispanics, African-Americans, Caucasians, Indians, Native Americans, Blues, and Purples (basically a melting pot of different cultures). I grew up hearing so many different names that span multiple religions, ethnicity's, and societies. Because of how I grew up a name to me is simply a name, not weird, not odd.
For others because of where they grew up Gizmo could seem like a odd name. |
In my country, my name is one of those names that used to be hard to find but are now very common.
|
My name is Eliadora which is not really an existing name. Mum made it up.
|
I haven't met a whole bunch of people with my name, so I guess it's kind of uncommon. Maya. My middle name's Shea, and I've always thought my last name was really boring because it's a very common american surname. So I go by Maya Shea, instead. I think it sounds nice, lol. :)
|
Well i guess my name is strange its luna <3 most people call me luna love good after the harry potter girl from raven claw. but my cat name is velcrow because he sticks to me like glue and he super cute all the time and love to snuggle with everyone <3 he my fat boy
|
My name is Tess, which isn't strange really. Just sort of rare. I saw a show once where a girl called in and her name was 7. I thought that was quite odd. All the famous people are naming their poor children really dumb things, like "Apple" & "Blue Ivy" I don't understand it at all.
|
My name is Sunny. :)
|
My name's Skylar, I don't think it's strange but I don't hear of many called by that name.
It's funny though, when I first met this girl, now my bestfriend, she told me how her turtle was called Skylar and when I told her my name she laughed saying it reminded her of her turtle, haha. :) |
I'd consider my name... unique. I don't know anyone else named Shalome xD People tell me it's pretty, but I don't think it is >.>
|
That's not bad, Sandpaper.
Not long ago I met someone named "Cole Saul". His parents' last name is Saul, and they named their kid Cole. Can you imagine all the coleslaw jokes? Terrible. But hilarious, I'm ashamed to say. |
I just remembered I use to know a girl name Glamorous and her sister's name was Precious.
|
I don't have a terribly odd name for an Irish/Jewish gal, but a lot of people have a hard time remembering and saying it. It's Aoife, pronounced ee-fah. I actually really like it! My middle name is Astrid, so that's a little odd too I suppose.
My twin sister's name is Eithne, pronounced enya, and I love her name! She hates it, of course. |
Effie- your sisters name confuses me. I would not think that was how it is pronounced.
|
Haha, a lot of Irish names are like that. The pronunciation of Eithne is actually pretty widely debated, but this is how my parents chose to pronounce it.
|
lol, I like the way it sounds though ^.^
