Hazel glanced out the window, and saw Brit looking at the pygmy sheep.

"The sheep?" she asked, looking back at Mark. "I think Brit is rather attached to them now."

Woofie267 06-03-2012 05:57 AM

Mark snickered. "Sure. Those should be easy enough to get over to your ranch. I'll just put them in the big wagon and I'll have the wagon follow you back to your ranch." He paused for a moment. "Anything else or is that good enough for now?"

Mageling 06-03-2012 06:01 AM

"I think it would be advantageous to move everything we can now," Hazel replied after a moment of thought. "So there is less to worry about later on. If I recall correctly, you said the cerberi and the shisas will follow a wagon or carriage?"

Woofie267 06-03-2012 06:07 AM

Mark nodded. "Yeah. They won't follow you on your own just yet, but I can take one of my horses and follow you, and they'll come with me. I can also grab the ceryneians. I think the rest will have to wait until next time."

Mageling 06-03-2012 06:22 AM

Hazel nodded.

"That will be just fine," she replied.

Woofie267 06-03-2012 06:42 AM

Mark nodded. "Okay. I'll go get everything ready, it should only take a minute or two." He headed outside again, and Brit helped him herd the sheep over to the wagon, loading them up quickly, and then the two went over to the ceryneians, getting halters on them and leading them over to the front of the house. Brit took the two ceryneians while Mark went to go collect the shisas and the cerberi.

Mageling 06-03-2012 06:54 AM

Hazel waited for them by the carriage. It didn't occur to her to offer to help; she was used to such things being taken care of by the people whose job it was to do it.

Woofie267 06-03-2012 07:09 AM

Brit borrowed a horse from Mark so she could lead the ceryneians along, and Mark rode next to her with the shisas and cerberi following him. The wagon came last, all the sheep trying to climb atop one another to see what was going on.

Fortunately it didn't take them long to get back to the Menagerie, and Brit immediately escorted the two ceryneians back to the rest of the herd to get them settled in.

Mageling 06-03-2012 03:42 PM

Seamus blinked when he saw the new arrivals, and went over to see what was going on. He raised an eyebrow when he saw the sheep.

"They're like living cotton balls," he commented

Woofie267 06-03-2012 07:13 PM

Mark grinned. "Yeah. My wife loves 'em, though. Apparently they're too cute to resist, or something like that." He shrugged at the mysteries of the female mind. "So! Where are we putting them?"

Mageling 06-03-2012 11:33 PM

Seamus turned and surveyed the ranch for a moment before pointing to an empty corral.

"There, for now," he said. "I'll see about having a proper enclosure built for them as soon as possible."

Woofie267 06-03-2012 11:52 PM

Mark nodded and got the shisas to help him herd the pygmy sheep into the corral, and then he shut the door and waited for Brit to come back. It only took him a minute to tell her what he'd taught the shisas and the cerberi, and she nodded and led the canines off to a smaller side area where she could keep an eye on them and get to know them.

Mageling 06-03-2012 11:56 PM

Once the sheep were corralled, Seamus went to talk to Hazel about having a proper enclosure built. She was the one who controlled such things.

Woofie267 06-04-2012 12:05 AM

Mark went to go check in with Hazel one last time before he headed home to make sure everything was going well.

"So, unless you need anything else, I think I'll get home for now." Mark grinned at her and Seamus both. "Oh, and here's a feeding chart for those guys, so you know." He put the chart on her desk.

Mageling 06-04-2012 12:10 AM

Hazel nodded as Seamus took the chart.

"Alright," she said. "Thank you so much for letting us take in some of your animals. We appreciate the opportunity."

Woofie267 06-04-2012 12:22 AM

"I'm glad I could take them," Mark said with a grin. "I'll let you know when is a good time to get the rest of the animals." He waved briefly before he left.

Brit made her way inside again, looking pleased.

Mageling 06-04-2012 12:24 AM

"How are they all settling in?" Hazel asked when Brit came back inside.

Woofie267 06-04-2012 12:30 AM

Very well. I don't think there'll be any problems. Brit grinned briefly. It was a good day, and she was already thinking about new numbers for breeding season.

Mageling 06-04-2012 12:35 AM

"Good," Hazel replied. Absently, she sifted through a few papers on her desk, checking dates and appointments. It was going to be a busy breeding season for the ranch. "Rough estimate, at best how many successful breedings do you think we'll get this year?"

Woofie267 06-04-2012 12:39 AM

Brit was quiet for a few moments, pulling over a pen and paper. Between three and five unicorns, two to five ceryneians, two litters of pups, one or two litters of kittens, one gryphon here and the others the one gryphon is being used as a stud for, probably some sheep, two batches of toy dragons, and three snake clutches. Oh, and I think one of the horses is pregnant too.

Mageling 06-04-2012 12:53 AM

"Alright," Hazel replied, looking over some numbers and requests. "Higher numbers than last year, then. And I've gotten some correspondence from a few other ranches asking if we'll be selling once our numbers are in."

Woofie267 06-04-2012 12:56 AM

Brit nodded. Much higher numbers than last year. You still have to exchange one snake egg clutch with the other breeder, but from the three clutches we'll end up with I'd keep one or two eggs. The rest can be sold. The toy dragons you can sell all of, the gryphon I'd wait on for a little bit. The unicorns we mostly sold but for one foal, maybe two a year, so we'll see with them, same with the ceryneians. Although she did have an idea for the ceryneians that she wanted to try if she could keep one or two of the fawns.

Mageling 06-04-2012 01:12 AM

Hazel nodded. She had a note on her sheet about the clutch of eggs she'd agreed to exchange, and had factored that in already.

"I'll keep those numbers in mind, then," she said, starting a fresh sheet of tentative sales. She would adjust the numbers on the sheet as the concrete numbers started arriving.

Woofie267 06-04-2012 04:36 AM

Brit nodded. She was expecting a lot of newborns this year, which would be very interesting. She was especially interested to see if Hazel had any intention of continuing to expand or trade, or if she was just going to sell them off.

Mageling 06-04-2012 04:39 AM

Hazel, for her part, had no idea. The requests for sales she'd gotten were far outnumbered by the expected newborns for the year, but it didn't seem productive to just sell the others. Something would have to be figured out.
