Dude it took me a couple of years to finally get Admin's pick. So don't sweat that.
User's pick is a lot easier to win, I think. Plus, anyone can nominate anyone else, and that in itself is a big deal, at least to me. OMAGAWWWW DAT BUNNEH! |

I feel like a larger variety of wins happens in User's pick. Plus, ties are possible, so there's more winners overall.

There's a lot of people who make awesome avi's.
When I first started out, what helped me was entering a LOT of contests, doing a lot of AAY threads, and just generally interacting a lot in the Avatar Chat forum. Project Mene was probably the biggest sculptor of my style, because I got feedback every week from a bunch of different people on the same avatar. |
